I'm obsessed with this Goodwill. Why has it taken me so long to come here?! It felt closer to a consignment shop honestly. It was really well organized, tons of stuff. Higher quality and more name brand items than the DI or savers. Everything is in great condition. The only downside is there are no fitting rooms, which is a bummer. There's a couple mirrors throughout but not a ton of easy places to try things on. I've found so many great home items and clothing items here. read more

I don't go to this store often, and never will again. I was behind a woman who had a lot of things that she wanted to put back. she explained that the jackets were missing zippers pulls, and wool sweaters had moth holes, stains etc. her choosing not to buy them made perfect sense to me, but the way she was treated by two of your cashiers is unforgivable. she's supposed to buy stained and broken crap? they actually shamed her. why don't you just have a return rack? maybe you enjoy treating people like crap. anyway, I won't be back and I doubt she will either. and for gods sake, get return racks if your employees can't keep a civil tongue. the one who checked her out even acted like she stole her reusable goodwill bag. you sell them so people will reuse them. then you accuse them of theft when they do? seriously, the worst customer service I've seen in a very long time. won't be back read more

I am in SLC from Omaha, Nebraska, and am here to help my mother in law move from her home and into assisted living. I have been here 4 days, emptying out her house and putting her belongings into storage. Items not going into storage, my wife and I decided to donate to Goodwill. I called and spoke to Silva at this location on 5/27/24 and was told I had no limit to the items I could donate but had to drop the items off no later than 6:50PM ( they close at 7:00PM ) I agreed. After going through the house, we had a 10ft U-Haul box truck full of items to donate, most items being brand new and still in their sealed packages. ( she is a very bad shop-alcoholic, and buys all items in case quantities and then never opens them ) I drove to this location and was able to pull right into their donation bay. It was 6:15PM when I arrived. I was greeted by an older gentleman ( I didn't get his name, so we will call him "Bob" for the purpose of this review ) and was immediately told I had to come back tomorrow because he was alone. I told him my situation and explained that I was actually driving back to Omaha and was due back the following day for work and was leaving after dropping off this donation. He said there was no way he was taking all these items. Another employee came out ( I believe her name is Shelly ) and she told me to leave and come back tomorrow as well. I explained my situation again and told them that I would unload it all myself if they just told me where they wanted the items. Bob told me that he wouldn't do that and I was to leave. I explained that I had called earlier and I was told that I had until 6:50PM to drop off. Shelly asked who told me that and I explained that I had talked to "Sylvia". It turns out that Sylvia is the supervisor, so when she came out to see me, Shelly was telling Sylvia that there was no way that they were "f**king unloaded my truck, and that it was bulls**t that I expected them too. When Sylvia came out to see me, I told her who I was and explained that we had spoken earlier in the morning about me dropping off items. She confirmed that we had spoken , and I asked her what we were going to do? Shelly ran her mouth the whole time, seemingly to speak for Sylvia, so I asked her to please stop so Sylvia and I could speak... she did not. Sylvia told both of them that I was there before their close time and they had to unload the truck. Shelly went off and started swearing and saying that I should have to comeback and how it was once again " bullsh*t". At this point I was getting a bit mad and asked Shelly what her issue was. Bob ended up unloading the truck with me passing all of the items to him. He made the whole transaction very unpleasant and even treat another costumer like dirt when he asked if he could put the recliner he brought over to where all the other donated furniture was. Bob snapped at him with a resounding "NO" and that he would have to wait. Personally I don't see why he was told "no" , it seemed he was taking out his frustrations out on the next guy. It took 15 minutes to empty the box truck, I asked for a receipt for taxes and Bob angrily hand it to me. I know I may never have another reason to use this location again, but if I did, I would definitely NOT choose Goodwill to make a donation. You can't go into a Goodwill store expecting it to be top shelf shopping. But when your expectations are aligned with what the store actually is (a secondhand thrift shop), then you'll be fine. This one has everything you'd expect-clothing, furniture, books, dishes and housewares. I found it to be a bit dirtier than the Savers that I typically visit and the quality of the clothing wasn't as nice. I'm sure that varies depending on what inventory they have available, of course. This one was super popular on a Sunday afternoon-lots of shoppers! read more

This is one of the dirtiest Goodwills I have ever visited. Any time I have come in here, I feel like I need a shower after visiting. Maybe it is a Utah thing, as anywhere else I have lived, Goodwills have had decent stores and were a wonderful place to donate. Not here. I went to donate several boxes and bags of clothes and dishes. They make you wait in a line and do not appreciate you helping unload your things. I tried to help, which would also make things quicker, and they were not interested. Usually, they have bins labeled and set up so you can put items in there, and the workers just help and supervise people-not here. I will take all my donations elsewhere as they do not seem to appreciate people helping or offering donations. read more

Thrift shopping for the win! This Goodwill has all the typical items you expect to find: clothing, electronics, books, toys, kitchen appliances, etc. It's a little smaller than other Goodwill and DI locations in the area, which means less of a selection in clothes (there were not many choices in the men's clothing section--women's clothing seemed to have a fair amount more). The store itself was clean and easy to navigate. I managed to get out only purchasing one book, which is what I came for, but the prices here might have you walking out with an arms-load--great deals for those that are willing to hunt! read more

We had some great brand new furniture (sofa, stools) that did not fit the scale of our home, so we went by Goodwill to drop some things off. The attendants said (with bad attitude) that they did not want it. The store itself seems fine and clean but I have no idea why they would not take brand new furniture in great shape. We recently moved here from Texas and never had problems with Goodwill there. If you don't take furniture you should put that on your website and not waste everyone's time. read more

I was on a road trip and stopped by when I was in utah to meet up with a friend. I went during covid times and everyone kept their distance and wore their masks. very organized and good prices considering I come from california which will always be expensive. found lots of good things that i love like a nice oversized blazer and some shirts. I love this Goodwill. It's always clean and organized and has some daily sale on one of the colored tags so you get an extra discount. Lots of mostly clothing and shoes. It's a small store but there is also a surprising amount of furniture. When I went this last time they had a large dining room table that was in nice shape and a wooden dresser and lots of chairs and smaller furniture. The toy section is also tidy and there are some good finds. There are also a lot of new items at this store as well - like new scarves or candies or toys. read more

It seems that 2 out of 3 times I try to donate to this Goodwill location, their donation center is closed, so I've gone out of my way to drive there based on the hours of operation, only to have to drive home with car loaded with donation items that could not be delivered. If you're not going to keep the donation center open during your hours of operation, maybe you should post separate hours so customers aren't wasting their time. read more

Fair warning to donators: 6 sets of ski poles, coats, hats, a fairly new heavy duty dolly hand truck, a 3-spot bicycle rack, roller blades, winter boots and more were ready for unloading. I had waited behind 6 cars. The worker opened the door and said, "I'll take the skis." Ouch. I guess I'll donate elsewhere. (I've never seen a second hand store be so picky). read more

Color me a fan! I've been to many a Goodwill across this great secondhand nation of ours, and this one is a pretty slick location. It's not massive, but it's a good size and on the day I went in I found it pretty spotless. Tidy. Everything in its place, and a place for everything. Speaking of colors (see--I had a purpose in that intro), you have to understand the color system in the store to take full advantage of the Goodwill way. It's a way. A whole way of life that some folks who are the initiated follow religiously. It's about a color code on all of the clothing and other items. Each article has a tag and that tag has a color. During any given week, one lucky color is called up from among the ranks to be the color of discount. That week, anything with that color tag (blue, for example, on my visit this week) is offered at 50% off. Hold on to your gently used hats, folks, that's a screaming deal on already cheap stuff. Find mens and womens clothing, house stuff.. oh, shoot, it's a secondhand store. Find used stuff you can wear and stuff you can't. I don't need to explain the concept here, do I? Parking was a breeze, the staff was all smiles, and I spent a total of like $35 and walked away with six metric tons of used stuff. Prices are comparable to the DIs of the world--some stuff is cheaper here (men's suits, for example) but others a bit marked up. Thrift store triumph. read more

DO NOT DONATE HERE! We took items here to donate today, including some nice potted fake plants. For whatever reason, the person working there decided they didn't want them and just threw the entire box toward the dumpster, shattering all the pots. Had I been told they couldn't take them, I'd have taken them back to try to find them a new home elsewhere. The sole purpose I donate is to keep things out of the landfill that still have life in them. I will never donate here again! read more

if i could give it 0 stars i would. they closed their changing rooms permanently, what is even the point. im so dissapointed, also there was a bunch of stuff in there that was still dirty and it was gross, i used to look past that because i could try stuff on. also insanely overpriced for stuff they got for free, saw a dress that was 12 dollars and it still had the ross tag on it that said 6. never going back, never donating there again, and im telling everyone i know not to go there anymore. read more

I asked to use the bathroom and it smelled absolutely rancid, someone had pooped in the urinal. It was unbearable. I told the staff and they proceeded to say "we already know". Wtf? Why are they just letting it happen... Besides that it's a great store with good stuff and rare finds. read more

This reminds me a lot of the old Mountain Thrift that got replaced by the Millcreek City Hall, by a former Big Lots, round about 3300 S. and 1300 E. way. This is a bit on the grungy side and selection here is definitely not one of the stronger points. Unless I find actually dirty or shoddy stuff, I generally don't give the secondhand places lower than a 3, and this one seemed fine in that regard. If you go here, though, you will absolutely need to dig for your bargains. read more

If i could rate this a negative I would. The mexican cashier that helped us, don't know her name because of course she was not wearing a name tag, she announced 5 times in the 15 minutes we were there standing in line that they were closed and wanted to go home instead of hustling to get people out of the store. Then when we got up to the counter finally, she was rude, she did not want take our purchase for a cabinet saying they were closed and she did not want to handle this transaction. Then we wanted to split the payment between cash and a debit card and she could not get it through her head that she had to recieve the cash first. Because of her rudeness we put most of our items back, and will never return due to her rudeness, condenscending attitude and total unprofessional behavior. She was irate that we were actually making her do her job. read more

I haven't been to a Goodwill for over a decade. The last one I went to was in East Texas. I ventured into the SLC Goodwill yesterday and I was pleasant surprised. Comparing it to the local Deseret Industries, the Goodwill seemed easier to navigate and better organized. I also think the pricing at Goodwill was a bit cheaper than what I have seen at DI. My favorite deal was 2 WiiU games for $6. Can't beat that. read more

Anytime I've been here I haven't found much sadly. I know from reviews people seem to find reasonable items here at a good price! This location is smaller than the other one on State street so naturally has less of a selection. Because of where it's located it can get kind of crowded but just be checking the parking lot when you go & you decide! My review is mostly for the clothing I haven't found much good here but don't know about house hold items or some other stuff so they may have a decent selection for that. Didn't find much furniture here though. read more

Was disconnected twice when I contacted this location for a simple answer to a simple STANDARD Goodwill question: does this location, during COVID19 still have a "career center" available to the unemployed, like myself, that requires a desktop in order to complete a job application for another company. I called back, giving the 1st employee time to ask manager, got another one when I called back, was disconnected from hold, then I guess neither employee wanted to complete the task as now I am directed to "leave a message" when I call back. Granted, I'm homeless, SLC ain't that big, but I ain't ashamed to at least TRY to get a job. This place was better when the Methodists funded Goodwill better. read more

Scored a ton of old VHS video tapes for my vacation rental. I have the old TVs with attached video player and I wanted to get kid cartoons. I got a lot of great Disney and other classics at $0.50 each. Thrilled! Also bought kids books, and kitchen stuff. Very pleased and I will be back. This is a great thrift store and you can tell it is newer (it did recently open). About 1/3 of the store is housewares and "stuff." The other 2/3 is clothing, coats, shoes, etc. This location is easily half the size of the Savers a few minutes away, but the selection is great for what there is and is well-organized. I easily found the items I needed for my Halloween costume. There were quite a few people there, I'm not sure if it was because it is Halloween time or a Saturday early evening, but you may want to go on a week night to avoid the crowd. In spite of the many people in the store, I checked out at the register in less than a minute. Which brings me to how nice these workers are! The woman at the register was asking me about my family when she noticed their photo on my credit card and was cheerful and made me feel like a hundred bucks. Also at the register area, you will find snacks and sodas - something you wouldn't normally find at a thrift store and if you did you would be paranoid to purchase them, right? But this store is so new and clean that their snack selection is more than tempting. I was the only person I watched exit that store with a purchase that didn't also purchase a treat. As with all thrift stores, the inventory is very fluid, so I can't guarantee you'll find what you are looking for, but you will find you have a pleasant experience and won't *need* to shower when you leave. read more

Apparently many other people have had better experiences in here than I have. I keep coming back, hoping to find something good because it is the closest secondhand thrift shop to my work, but I have only ever bought one thing here - a wall clock. The vibe I get when I walk into this location is dark and grungy. It doesn't have the tall bright ceilings of the DI or a wide aisle layout of Savers. Everything seems just strewn across the shelves and you're likely to find a lot of broken items as a result. Speaking of broken, that generally seems to be the quality of the furniture that I generally see in here. Stuff will stick around for weeks because they put out stuff that nobody wants. The books are hardly organized at all, so its dumb luck if you end up finding one that you are interested in. The clothes are a better option, but the pricing seems so random. The 50% off stickers make it worth it if you find something you like, but to me it just isn't worth it here. There are simply much better options in the valley. read more

Drop offs are limited to 10:00am to 2:00pm during this Covid season. Thank Heavens they're open. (We're all finding lots to dejunk these days!) Prepare for a long wait. It's about 5 minutes minimum per car and the line has been along the West (front) of the building and wrapping to the NorthWest drop off point. read more

I love great deals. This location is by far my favorite thrift store in the whole valley. The store is organized and clean. Staff is always super friendly. Even my kids love coming here. I just feel like they got the best selection of clothes and furniture. Match that with the pricing and you'll definitely leave here not empty handed. The last few years I also donate all my unused or not wanted items here. So I definitely recommend this store to anyone. read more

Brought some donations by, but they won't take futons, even if it has only ever been used as a couch. They wouldn't even look at it (it's brand new, never slept on, sat on literally less than 20 times). The reason? Because futons CAN be slept on. But they accept couches. I've slept on many a couch, and have had many people sleep on my couch, so if sleeping is really the part that matters, they shouldn't accept couches either... Interesting policy that makes no sense, given that I've seen futons in other Goodwills (in states other than Utah at least). read more
