Went again today and there were a lot of plants to select from plus some well-staged larger plants. Desert Creations excels in the diverse variety of arid plants - nobody I'm aware of locally has their large selection of succulents and cacti at reasonable prices. Many giant cyphostemmas abounding! It's really a great source of unique plants for the serious collector. Plants are sometimes haphazardly arranged so you really have to look around carefully. read more

Feels: It can easily be missed as it's kind of in a random place of neighborhoods and a business but just look for the pants and the nurseries. The space itself is pretty big. You don't find these plants easily.. (They do have a large offerings of interesting plants for beginners, but you don't always have to start with Aloe Vera), You that cool? Then this is the place to find plants that people talk about. Exotic, rare Euphorbias, beautiful varieties of all the "caudiciforms", and an offering of fantastic Copiapoas , you have to see to believe. This cute little gem is tucked away behind another building, and across from the Uhaul place. Don't let the outside appearance fool you into thinking it's a small nursery! Once you walk past their gift shop, you will see that their greenhouse and outdoor garden is pretty large and holds so many varieties of cacti and succulents! The staff seem friendly and helpful if you had questions. Over the weekend was their sale, so my friend got 10% off. Desert Creations is absolutely incredible, never before have I seen such an unbelievable collection of cacti and succulents. Beyond just having the most unique one-of-a-kind plants, they are the most genuine and helpful people. They took the time to explain in such detail all of the plans that I purchased and I was blown away by their tremendous knowledge of these beautiful cacti. They are walking encyclopedias and on top of that just the most friendly people you'll ever meet. You can truly tell that they care so much, and it really meant a lot to me that they spent the time to help me. An amazing collection of thousands of succulents and cacti hidden away behind a small storefront off of Parthenia. I've visited a couple of times and enjoy wandering through the thousands of plants (including some very rare ones) behind the storefront. Parking is limited to a few spaces but you can park on the street. The staff is super helpful and they also sell a wide range of pots and gardening/plant books. I highly recommend it. read more

The atmosphere here is very laid back and relaxed with a helpful staff of approachable individuals. Artie in particular is one of the most knowledgeable individuals in the realm of cacti/succulents I have ever met. He can guide you to specimens in your price range and knows care instructions for everything they carry. Inside the shop you can find a wealth of books, specialized gardening implements, top dressings, fossils, hand thrown ceramic pots, mineral specimens and more. The price points are very reasonable and even someone with just $10 to spend can come away with some bonafide treasure. Plainly put, this is an excellent location for someone who's advanced past casual collection and is looking to get a little more serious with their hobby. I can't recommend this place enough for cactus and succulent lovers. They have an amazing selection ranging from rare specimens for collectors to more common but no less adorable plants for the more casual succulent lover. The guys who work here (I think they're the owners?) were friendly and informative, taking the time to talk about proper care for the plants I picked out and succulents in general. My husband and I stopped in today for the first time to pick up a few succulent plants. The place is behind a florist, and a bit hard to find if it's your first time. It has such a cute and surprising set up, going waaaaay further back than the entrance would have you assume. They have a great selection, and all the plants look healthy and happy. When we walked in, we were greeted by who I assume is the owner, but not sure. She was very friendly and welcoming and asked us what we were looking for, and when we specified exactly what we needed, she led us to the right spot. She even went above and beyond by informing us of another nursery she knows that specializes in succulents. This is a sign of excellent customer service (in my opinion), because she was willing to not only help us find what we needed that she could offer, but took her care for our specific needs to another level by referring us to someone that may better help us, even though it could cost her some of our returning business. Purchased two specimens in the span of two weeks off their website and received both of them yesterday. Nikki reached out after my purchase to notify me of their shipping status and was helpful in answering any other questions I had (Great customer service!). Specimens arrived very healthy and were both packaged extremely well (they made the trip across the country from CA to NY). The best rare plant nursery. The succulents and cactus selection is overwhelming, they sell hand made pots, tools, soil etc. This is a small nursery that specializes in the rare and hard to find. Every plant is a treasure, each more interesting than the last The people who own the nursery run the nursery. They answered all my questions, and showed me how to grow the plants I already had. These are hands on experts. They told me which plants I shouldn't buy, which was refreshing. THAT SAID, this is not a place to come for deals (though they do sometimes have great sales, and there are a few times I've been and seen things marked waaay lower than you'd expect) and this is not a place for "basic" houseplants (you know, Monstera, Pilea, Pothos) - if you want that stuff you're better off hitting up Home Depot.
