There is so much room in their nursery for so many plants to grow, which matters for the health of their plants instead of being crammed tightly like big box retail stores. The prices are great and generally cheaper than big box stores and other popular nurseries. I was able to buy 2x 3 ft tall Alocasia Regal shield ($35 each) , a Tricolor Stromanthe($12.50) in 6x pot , an Aglaonema Lady Valentine ($10) in a 4" pot, and a Marantha Lemón Lime Prayer Plant for ($15) in a 6" pot, all for cheaper than other places AND all healthy with no blemishes or pests. Nothing bugs me more than a lot plants that deteriorating condition, which I see a lot in big box stores, and thankfully you don't see really too much of that at Foothill Nursery. Finally Regina, Raschia, and Yolanda all have been helpful and friendly, and are quite knowledgeable, too. Thanks again and I'll be back to get more wonderful plants!

I had no idea what I'm doing, but the staff here are amazing. I learned so much from them. Based on the size of my b pond, they recommended smaller size fish and let me know which fish are the easiest to care for. So far, the fish have been doing well! I also got a few water plants. They were so nice to show me all the different kinds of plants what would work. They let me smell them and that was so cool. I got a few that had flowers and the fish have been enjoying them as shelter. I love the sunland water gardens for teaching me so much and having everything I needed.

She basically gave us an encyclopedia's worth of knowledge in 10 minutes and helped us tremendously. Easy parking, great selection, super friendly, and just an awesome family business. After visiting, I completely understand how they've stayed in business for 65 years. We'll definitely be back.

I showed up at their opening hours & was told to wait because they weren't ready. Totally get it. After walking in, I decided to move away from the few people already hovering over certain plants. But was then told the section I was in wasn't open or not for sale? Not sure. From my understanding only 1 & a half rows inside of the greenhouse were actually for sale. It's misleading, expensive & and an awkward experience (1st time here). The plants are not cheap. I went to Home Depot after & the plant in the picture was $25, whereas the same plant here was $15 before the sale for something waaaaaaay smaller. This is prob the place if you're looking for a very specific or rare cactus/succulent. I don't think I'll be back.

The warehouse is quite large but not all the plants are for sale as they use them for propagation. I don't have the greenest of thumbs and am not the most educated plant enthusiast, but many plants are not your run of the mill succulent you find at Home Depot, and prices reflect that. The staff are quite friendly and helpful and it was a fun weekend outing plus the dog (yes they are dog friendly).

It's well maintained in plants and people. I had a specific succulent I wanted to buy and called nine different nurseries before reaching Brandon on the phone at Standard. Instead of just telling me "no" like the others, he chatted with me...explaining how some succulents are created as a hybrid for one season and often are hard to find again. When I drove here, I was created by Anthony Gardner, a cheery, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and helpful guy who showed real interest in my needs. And I wound up buying three plants for different areas in my garden. Two plants that I needed in multiple flats were sent to one of their many locations closer to me, so I didn't need make that long drive again. We've had follow up phone calls and each time I've found him friendly, responsible and, truly, going the extra mile for me.

I would not recommend Standard Group to anyone. This is, without question, the worst landscaping…read morecompany I have ever dealt with. We were charged approximately $35,000 to landscape our front and backyard, and we were promised high-quality materials, including large 50-gallon plants and flowers. Instead, they installed the smallest five-gallon plants they could find. The grass was also the cheapest quality, was poorly leveled, and started dying almost immediately. We wanted privacy trees installed along one side of our brick wall. Standard Group recommended ficus trees and planted them only three feet from our pool because that was the only space available. We later learned that ficus trees should be planted at least 10 feet away from a pool structure. Because of their poor recommendation and installation, we had to hire another landscaping company to remove and replant all of the trees, costing us thousands more. We also asked for flowers and plants in a large area, but instead, Standard Group simply covered it with approximately two inches of wood chips. The wood chips covered our sprinkler heads and drainage areas, and their work resulted in broken pipes. We were charged $4k for landscape lighting, only to discover later that they used the cheapest lights available and charged us far more than the installation was worth. We also paid $800 for a Meyer lemon tree that we never received. After repeatedly contacting the owner Dave and expressing my frustration, I finally received a tree months later - but it was a standard lemon tree, not the Meyer lemon tree we paid for. This entire experience was an absolute nightmare and felt like a complete rip-off. Standard Group charged us thousands of dollars while cutting corners everywhere, using the smallest plants and cheapest materials possible, and failing to deliver what was promised. Before hiring this company, read the one-star reviews carefully. Many customers describe similar experiences. Based on what happened to us, be extremely cautious and do not use Standard Group. In my experience, this company is unprofessional, significantly overcharges customers, and does not deliver the quality or materials it promises.
