There's promotions on their website & social media pages about a Memorial Day sale this weekend (25% off). I showed up at their opening hours & was told to wait because they weren't ready. Totally get it. After walking in, I decided to move away from the few people already hovering over certain plants. But was then told the section I was in wasn't open or not for sale? Not sure. From my understanding only 1 & a half rows inside of the greenhouse were actually for sale. It's misleading, expensive & and an awkward experience (1st time here). The plants are not cheap. I went to Home Depot after & the plant in the picture was $25, whereas the same plant here was $15 before the sale for something waaaaaaay smaller. This is prob the place if you're looking for a very specific or rare cactus/succulent. I don't think I'll be back. read more

Off the beaten path store for succulents and cactus. They have a limited selection of pots and potting supplies as well. The warehouse is quite large but not all the plants are for sale as they use them for propagation. I don't have the greenest of thumbs and am not the most educated plant enthusiast, but many plants are not your run of the mill succulent you find at Home Depot, and prices reflect that. The staff are quite friendly and helpful and it was a fun weekend outing plus the dog (yes they are dog friendly). read more

LA Succulents is top notch when it comes to cactus, succulents and pottery! The healthiest plants in the industry! You can also get really nice pottery from local artisans to go with your purchases. Staff is full of knowledge and extremely helpful. These aren't your run of the mill cactus and succulents but rarer plants you can't find at a garden store. While those are available be prepared to be mind blown at things you've probably never seen. Fully rooted plants at very fair prices! I'll always spend a little more to support a small business instead of a big box store. read more

I learned about this business and the owner Kal many years ago because they are the most knowledgeable sellers of Stapeliads I've found, which is one of the plants I collect. I was finally able to visit the greenhouse a few months ago when I was in town and bought two plants (I saw so many more plants I wanted, but I was flying back and couldn't carry more on the plane). When you visit you will notice they have a lot of plants they don't sell. This is because they propagate and root their own plants in the greenhouse, so only the healthiest, well rooted plants are for sale (not fresh imports). The plants I bought were very healthy and are thriving. Kal and his team were very friendly and even helped me pack my plants for my trip back. I'd highly recommend checking this place out if you are a succulent, cactus, or stapeliad lover (they have hoyas too!). read more

I found this nursery while shopping online via a plant app and I'm so glad I did! They offer a large variety of uncommon cacti/succulents, ones that you won't find at the big box stores. I have been impressed by the quality of the plants I have purchased, many sight unseen. And the high caliber customer service before and *after* the sale puts this nursery over the top, giving exceptional value in the long run. Ridiculously overpriced succulents, not much of a selection either and the nicer ones in the back - shelves and shelves of them - aren't even for sale! Like what's the POINT? This place is totally inaccessible for wheelchair/scooter users. I planned a nice weekend activity for my wife and I, only to find stairs entering the building and being told the only other access to the nursery was around the block and through a gate a locked to which no one had a key. Apologies and promises of a future discount do not make up for our disappointment, cost of travel, and the waste of a nice day. read more

Great place if you live in Alabama or somewhere and never seen succulents(non succulents friendly states). I didn't find many rare one. I am extremely succulents educated and closely follow of several plant societies. Some of the collections are great but I found them extremely over priced. I have been to better places(example LA flower market in downtown) with more reasonable pricing. Come on people, we live in Southern California, it's a natural succulents/cactus blooming ground. The below cactus, two of them you can get at IKEA at $5.99 where there has it one for $12. Hear me out, I am not getting into any argument, for some, it might be a great place but I am out. read more

Really enjoyed the show & sale this weekend. Lots of interesting cacti and some other succulents. Mostly cacti, so if you're mostly interested in other succs this isn't the best but they did have some Echeverias and Haworthi and a big spread of many different lithops. RE COVID precautions - they were limiting the numbers allowed in and enforcing masking but it was still pretty much impossible to get 6' distancing inside. The purchase line was crowded and ran along the display tables so you couldn't browse that area without crowding other patrons. Those in line tended to crowd closer together and the 2 employees that I could see didn't discourage it, maybe because they were split between monitoring the number coming in, running checkout, stocking, and answering questions. They were friendly and helpful as far as the plants go. I'm vaccinated but if I wasn't I would not have felt comfortable. read more

This place is awesome! It has the most unique succulents ever! I love the selection. I have never seen some of these succulents. If you want unique succulents, come to this nursery. Also the staff is very friendly. There's plenty of parking on the street. It's quite a bit of a drive from the city. The only thing against this place is the prices. It's expensive! I thought since this was out of the city that the prices would be cheap but it's the opposite. Anyways, you have to check out the selection here. It's incredible! read more

I couldn't be happier about all my purchases from "LA Succulents". At "LA Succulents" the selection of hard to find species stapeliads is impressive and all the plants are high quality. Species stapeliads are well-rooted cuttings taken from a mature parent following flowering, so that each plants' specific species is verified. IOW, plants from "LA Succulents" are healthy, true to species and correctly labeled; versus being an unremarkable hybrid grown from open-pollinated seeds - the such, which is frequently and falsely sold as species plants by online vendors. Of course, no review is complete without actually showing some of the plants bought. So I've included 3 pictures so anyone can make their own judgement. This place is just amazing, not only in the abundant variety's available and awesome knowledge shared, but more so for the care the plants obviously receive. I've only just found this place, but from now on when I'm in town, I will absolutely be ensuring future visits. I really want to give this place a five star but I won't. The reason being that they have very little to no selection available in person . They have tons of beautiful inventory there but only the employees can go on the other side.I did not like the plants that they had available for purchase because they looked pretty dry and sad :( . I expected more from this cute small nursery. Guess I'll have to give it another shot some other time when I'm in town. I really wanted to purchase some cool cactus from here but they were not for sale. I live in Nevada so next time I come to the valley I have to give it another try. The employee was nice and friendly. But It was definitely a tease coming here. Maybe next time there will be more inventory. What a find! This is not your generic Home Depot "garden variety" (sorry) succulent nursery, but rather a curated collection of harder to find species, all in excellent shape. The prices aren't cheap, IMO, but neither are they outrageous. I bought five pots from three local potters and half a dozen new plants for my collection, and I left very happy with the whole experience. Second time here. I have come in on Saturday am time. I found them on Etsy and had bought a Hoya plant I had always wanted. After coming in to my surprise they have even more selection in person! Super stoked. Was a nice young man who helped me and he even packed my plants safely for the trip home. Look forward to making the trip out in a few more months. I just found my new place to get succulents! There is plenty of parking and it is pretty easy to find. We don't live nearby but will def make the drive. They have a fantastic selection of beautiful plants to chose from and some stunning handmade pots! I just happened to see their Black Friday weekend sale event on Facebook and told hubs we are going! Hahaha! They have their own soil mixture that we got 2 bags of and quite a few plants too. You can definitely tell that bossman loves what he does because the knowledge he has on all of his plants and the care that they receive along with the willingness to educate on the plants is just .. WOW! Super impressed with everything about this place especially the staff. I didn't catch bossman's name but Alyssa was just wonderful and such a pleasure to talk to. I really enjoyed the vibes there and their prices are good too. This will probably become part of our Sunday adventures now. read more
