I have not had a good experience here - mostly with their outdated systems and protocols which I know they will say are best for patient care. I understood a little more about what might be going on with this office when I looked at all the negative reviews and the responses (on Google reviews) that the office gave to the patients who wrote those reviews. The offices responses to these patients were very defensive and never, not once apologetic or understanding. This is a red flag. Don't ignore it. Go see it for yourself over on Google Reviews. I read the reviews before making an appointment but I decided to take a chance despite the low rating - primarily because I couldn't get in to see a top rated doc for 6 months or more! I regret having done so because the way they do things at this office is so inconvenient for patients who are used to the internet and same day to 24 hour turn arounds for medical records. And for those who expect to be able to have a biopsy without having to have another follow-up before it. I get it - cash reigns supreme :). I'm sure it was "medically necessary" to ask me questions in an office visit that I could have answered over the phone. I'll be seeking medical care elsewhere for my issues. No staff was rude to me and the doctor was pleasant. My issues were not related to the politeness of the doctor or staff. I advise everyone to look for one of the top rated doctors/offices in the valley who understands how to use the internet, patient portals, fax machines and the like for timely communications on the patient's behalf (like medical records). The top rated docs? There is a reason they are top rated. Yes, you'll have to wait a while to see them. I believe it is worth it to get the level of care (not just medical care but actual like they care about you as a person and what your needs are) that you as a person struggling with a medical issue would probably want. It feels bad when your body is conspiring to ruin you and your doctor's office tells you to wait 2 weeks for medical records (after snail mail or hand delivering your request for said records) that you need when you managed to slide in to a top rated doctor's office on a cancellation by chance! I arrived for my appointment with the complete understanding that I would be asked to undress, leaving on my undergarments-which in itself is unusual for an introductory endocrinology appointment. I confirmed this with the medical staff once over the phone and once when I was in the exam room. When I met Dr. Pinnamaneni, he was nothing short of rude. When I began describing my symptoms, he touched the side of my neck and declared that my thyroid was inflamed, despite completely clean blood work. A simple google search would tell you that the thyroid lies at the base of the neck, almost between the collar bones-not even remotely close to where Dr. Pinnamaneni had briefly touched. Might I add I never saw an individual wear gloves or wash their hands throughout the entire time in this facility. The most concerning part however, is when Dr. Pinnamaneni insisted on observing me perform a self breast exam. I explained to him that I was told repeatedly that I would not have to completely undress. He told me that it was medically necessary, almost becoming angry with me. I insisted that I was extremely uncomfortable, especially with my religious modesty standards, and that if the female nurse could instead observe, then I would accommodate him. He insisted that he had to be present to observe. He then told me that I'm not going to comply I can leave his office immediately, essentially "firing" me as a patient because I refused to completely disrobe, exposing myself to what I now know to be completely unnecessary "testing". My overall experience with this medical "professional" was truly awful and left me driving away in tears and without proper medical treatment. A CLOWN CAR OF A MEDICAL PRACTICE Every negative review on this guy's practice is accurate based on my experience. I found him thru my insurance website and failed to check his online reviews before making an appointment. What a mistake that was! He is out of control and someone really needs to check him. He apparently thinks he's the only endocrinologist in town and that professionalism is optional. Big hat, no cattle as the saying goes. Maybe it's because he's an old man, but I get the feeling he's just normally arrogant and rude to everyone. His staff certainly looks stressed out and unhappy. And check out his replies to all the negative reviews. He attempts (poorly) to verbally assault everyone that dares complain! Whatever the reason for his atrocious behavior, I made it very clear to the dr and his staff on my last visit that I would not be returning. I hadn't intended to post a negative review. That was until this clown car of a medical practice sent me an obnoxious and poorly written letter telling me the dr refuses to treat me any further. Are you kidding me?! So, to further detail his complete lack of customer care and contemptuous behavior, here are the highlights of my time in his crappy office: - An elderly woman in the lobby talking loudly on her cell speaker for 5 mins trying miserably to order an Uber and disturbing everyone. - The dr. admonished loudly me for looking at email on my cell phone while sitting quietly in the exam room waiting. He has a 'power off your cell phone' policy that he arbitrarily chooses to enforce because 'it interferes with his equipment'. Funny, hospitals, imaging centers and every other dr's office I can think of don't have any issues with cell phone interference. Maybe it's because of the low-rent medical building his very dreary office is located in. - My fave part: he told me if I don't like his no-cell policy, I can leave, it won't hurt his feelings at all, he doesn't care...on and on that went until I insisted he give me my lab results and let me go. - Did I mention he claimed that he's also a cell phone engineer? So he really knows about these things. - I was required to disrobe from the waist up for my initial exam for no practical medical reason that I've yet to determine. - I was held at his office for over 2 hours for an initial consult that lasted 15 mins., half of which were him telling me why the surgery I had years ago, ordered by a different endo dr, was bad medical practice. Seriously. - I was double billed for my co-pay. When I complained, they said they'd look into it and send me a refund check via postal mail if they decided I was correct. Yeah, not acceptable. I called the bank. Bottom line, try another endocrinologist - anyone but this small, childish, smug old man. read more

The Dr is excessively rude - he cut me off numerous times when I was attempting to answer the questions he asked me telling me to stop speaking because I did not know what I was talking about. He refused me an attendant for the exam that I was required to strip down to a multiple sizes too small paper gown for despite his new patient information page stating that one would be provided at a patient's request. Both of these responses are unacceptable. I question his expertise significantly as his exam consisted of listening to my heart and lung sounds - no other checking was done - he did not check my feet (?!) or my teeth (Both are standard in every other diabetic patient exam I have ever received). When he did listen to my heart and lungs he placed his hand lower than was comfortable and did not ask for permission to touch me at all - after ignoring my request for an attendant his own paperwork said would be provided. This review is regarding Dr. Krishna M. Pinnamaneni, M.D. Reference http://www.pinnamaneni.biz/ My wife was the one being treated. His disposition is not warm but very aloof. He would only address myself and not my wife as if women cannot express themselves. He does very little to diagnose and will make you come back for something else - a little bit at a time. The more appointments the better. There are not many endocinologists in the Valley. I get the impression that he knows that and he would rather only take time with patients that he feels are worth his time. My wife did not get better. We found another doctor in Mesa. Her health is now improving. Just recently - we were unaware - a relative of ours made an appointment here and my wife was asked to accompany them to the doctor's office. Dr. Pinnamaneni did not recognize my wife. When she had important questions to ask regarding the procedure he cut her off and told her to "just stop". While explained that there are some things he does and others he would not do and she would have to do it herself. No further assistance was given. However, with our relative, he wanted to set up another appointment to check out something else which was not the intended purpose for the visit. Rude and gets offended when his patients call him out on being rude. My mother asked his staff if he is always rude to the people he treats the next thing she gets a letter to not come back all because his attitude was brought up you can not be a doctor with terrible bedside manor. He or staff then get online and give out patient information and start saying my mother had alcohol on her breath and attacked them my mother would never in her life do such a thing nor does she drink. Dr. Krishna Pinnamaneni is TERRIBLE. I was a patient for a year and a half, and I saw him every month for a whole year. Trust me, DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR! I only started seeing him because he was the ONLY endocin in the PHX area that had availability on short notice (literally - I called for my first appt, and got an appt within 2 days). His practice is outdated and his methods are outdated. He wanted to do an archaic type of iodine intake to test me for Hashimoto's hypothyroidism, and I asked him if he could test a different way. The method he wanted to use is outdated because there are other effective ways of testing that don't have the potential bad side effects of the iodine intake. He refused to discuss alternative methods with me, so we did the iodine intake. After receiving treatment, my throat started feeling tight. Turns out, one of the side effects HAPPENED as a result of the test. The iodine essentially 'burned' my thyroid, which created 2 nodules on the left side of my thyroid. To this day, I sometimes get a tight feeling in my throat. Completely avoidable if he had used modern endocrinology treatments and testing. Also, my husband and I found out we were pregnant while I was seeing him for hypothyroidism. I found out during the late part of my 2nd trimester that my insurance didn't cover maternity benefits, and I asked him if he would be willing to work with me on an adjusted follow-up schedule or help me on the price per visit during my 3rd trimester, so I could still receive treatment while being pregnant and save money for delivery. I couldn't afford both. You would think that after a year and a half of patronage, ALWAYS paying my balance on time, and never missing an appt or showing up late, that he'd be willing to work with me for the last 3 visits of my pregnancy. No. Instead of helping me come up with a solution, he wrote me a letter and terminated me as a patient. I was SO blind-sided by this! He could have just said "no." This is the kind of doctor he is. He is selfish and wants things done a certain way and will not budge, even if it's inconvenient or challenging for the patient. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR. A good doctor is worth the wait. read more

I was referred by my MD for a thyroid issue. My doctor sent the test results two weeks prior to my appointment. The appointment with Dr Pinnamaneni was for a consultation ONLY, nothing more. After I arrived and while filling out the paperwork, I was told I would have to disrobe for a physical exam, for the consultation. I have NEVER had to undress to see a doctor for any type of consultation. I felt very uncomfortable about this and refused. The doctor refused to see me because I wouldn't comply with his request. If I would have known this prior, I would not have wasted my time and found another doctor. After reading his reviews and seeing the comments from other patients regarding the same issue I'm so glad I went with my gut feeling. The doctor can come across rude and dismissive. He also discussed my personal information with the door open which seems like it could be a HIPPA violation should anyone have walked down the hall. The office has an outdated policy of "powering off" your phone rather than silencing it/not taking calls while being seen. There were people in the waiting room on their phones playing videos loudly without anyone asking them not to. While I was in my room waiting for the doctor for 15 min, I was scrolling social media without any volume while I waited. The doctor opened the door and very rudely said "power off your phone" rather than displaying any manners or respect to ask me. In my appointment, I received several messages but didn't answer them. He saw me GLANCE at my phone and told me again to "power off." I told him I have a daughter in the hospital and that I needed to have my phone on in case they call. I cannot just have my phone off but I would not respond to a message while in the appointment. He then escorted me up front, gave me a refund and told me to schedule another time because I wasn't following the policy. Then, the office staff told me that the doctor requested I find a new Endo (which of course I was planning on doing anyway). Yes, I didn't follow an outdated policy. I swear this place is stuck in 1980's and are absolutely not with the current standards of care. Yeah... Lets talk about this place. The only reason I came here? A recommendation from my GP. The office was easy to find, the waiting room was clean, & the nurse at the window was pleasant. They explained that since it was my 1st visit, Id have to strip down, except for my chonies, & wear a paper gown for an initial exam. Fine. She takes me into the exam room, takes my vitals, then gives me said paper gown & explains that the doctor will be in soon. I strip, sit on the bed, & proceed to wait. Since I was left waiting about 15 minutes, I had ample time to examine the room. It hasnt been updated since the 80s. It was clean, but old looking. Finally, Dr Pinnamaneni comes in...& decides to chat w/ me for about 15 minutes. Now, something you need to understand about this room, its not ventilated very well. So Im sweating. He finally sits to go over my chart, another 20 minutes goes by. This time its filled w/ questions about my family history, 1/2 of which he repeated 2-3 times. The other half had nothing to do w/ why I was there. Example:" I see that it says you have no children""Thats right""So how many babies have you had?""...None""None. Hmmm. And you havent had any due to medical or personal reasons?""Personal""And whats the reason?" Get the jist? At this point I dont have much confidence in this guy, oh & by the way Im still sweating. He finally gets to the exam, & has the nerve to ask me "So this sweating problem, is that a new thing?" Um yeah, Doc. New as of 20 minutes ago since theres no A/C in this room & its105 degrees outside. He asks a couple more questions, & tells me he wants to do an ultrasound, blood test, & another test that the nurse would tell me about. I tell him I already had 2 blood tests, that he should have my results. He says he doesnt. I say "Oh, your nurse was supposed to call for them.""Thats not her job" K... The nurse tells me about the ultrasound, I agree to get it. She tells me about the other test that involves taking an Iodine pill, coming back 4 hours later for a test, & then again 24 hours later. I tell her a) I cant miss any more work, Im training someone to take over my position & ask if its absolutely necessary for me to take this test, she says NO, but he really wants me to & keeps pushing me. I tell her that w/ the thyroid problem I have, Im not supposed to have high doses of Iodine, it could make it worse. She still pushes. I finally ask the price, she tells me $350. Absolutely not. She says he really needs this test done so I can get my meds, I tell her he'll find another way, im not agreeing to it. She asks him if its ok that I dont take it, & he says YES. After all that pushing, it wasnt even necessary. I then ask for the fax # to send my blood test to. "Oh no, we dont accept faxed results. They need to be mailed or hand delivered by *someone from the GP's office*". I found that strange, so did the nurses at my GP's office when I told them about it. On my second visit, I was told "according to your blood test results you have a genetic thyroid disease". Um, I told YOU that the last time I saw you. He then told me he couldn't do anything else for me until I got a biopsy done and asked when I could come in for it. This conversation solidified, for me, that this guy does NOT listen to his patients and is just in it for the money. I had already told him several times that I was moving out of town. I then told him yet again that the only reason I was there was because my GP had said that they couldn't prescribe the mess I needed to start treating my Hashis, a specialist had to and that I was leaving the state for good the following Mon. He finally just gave me a script and some recommendations for a new Endocrinologist in VA "I've known these guys for years, they'll take great care of you *just like me*." No thanks. Refused.to give any medical info after they called ME! Said to go to my primary DR for what needs.to.be done. Next thing I get ia a letter asking to no return. Out of pills and the Dr denied the prescription he wrote. Complaints have been filed with insurance and the state medical board. He should not be a.doctor of any kind!!! read more

I was Dr. Pinnamaneni's patient in 2014 and had the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. Below is a review I had written about him back in 2014 (unfortunately I cannot attach screenshots here but you may check out my review, along with others', on Google Reviews) and his response from last week (not sure why it took them this long to respond!). I have never seen a doctor that would allow his "PR Manager" to say to a former patient "Hope you found a physician that can help in your physical and mental health". It is so absurd and sounds more like something you would hear on Mean Girls rather than a professional's office. I also want to clarify that I stopped going to this Dr. before they terminated their medical services. To any patient out there, think carefully before seeing this doctor. DR. KRISHNA PINNAMANENI NEEDS to RETIRE ASAP!! I was apparently fired as a patient because apparently I didn't take His recommendations on taking high blood pressure medicine for something I know I didn't have and my PCP confirmed it. If someone thinks you have a high BP think you double check it if your a real doctor/Med assistant/nurse ( I used to be a Med assistant) he did not. He just tried to push a medication on me and I refused so he sent me back to my PCP to have it checked because he said I don't need to be seeing you here because your refusing treatment (for something I know I don't have) &I'm more expensive than your PCP and I'm not here for the money.. So go take care of that first n then I can do a biopsy after its controlled...Sure then why did u make me retake a ultrasound of my nodule in my throat when I just had one done the week before and make me retake my blood work that I just had done two weeks prior to my visit. Oh and talk about bed side manners.. He has none. And he talks down to u like u know nothing. Especially if your a woman. I guess in their culture their not used to a woman speaking up. He also asked questions that had nothing to do with why I was there. What really got me about him was on my first visit is that just because I hadn't got pregnant in the last two years (while not using any means of birth control) that I was Infertile! The nerve of him!! So now your a fertility doctor?!! Wth!! Actually the moment I met him I got a very bad vibe off him. And ask anyone I can usually read a person from the moment I meet them but I gave this doctor a chance because he was the first available appointment if that tells u anything this doctor needs to be fired if u ask me. Oh and did I mention how behind they are in times.. It's like walking into the 80s when u go in this office. The only good thing about this office was the staff was friendly but pretty incompetent the way they handle things. I went to drop off paperwork yesterday and instead of telling over the phone I was fired as a patient and not go waste my time going there..they take my paperwork when I get there and make copies and don't say a word. I have been a patient at this clinic for many years. Not only have they taken care of my endocrinology very well, but also my acid reflux. Not just by discussing my symptoms, but using on-site imaging to verify reflux. As to treatment of the condition, the medication Dr. Pinnamaneni recommended a long time ago, and which I returned to recently, is better than anything my various PCP's have prescribed. When I needed medication for an endocrine-related condition, Dr Pinnamaneni directed me to an effective option, which was also affordable, unlike the options suggested by my PCP. read more

I would NEVER refer or return to this office. I have been in the medical field for over 23 years and have never seen such an unethical and unprofessional office. I had a thyroid ultrasound, a nuclear scan, and blood work with Dr. Pinnamaneni, and asked that they send my records to my PCP after my appointment in July 2016. WHICH they never received. Then my new endocrinologist requested records from them, and they REFUSE send them. Because they said they had already "attempted" to send them to my PCP in July. I am currently in thyroid crisis and had to go to a Cardiologist due to PVCs - which is coming from my thyroid. Now I have to get another ultrasound and nuclear scan which my insurance doesn't want to pay for. All because Dr. Pinnamaneni wants 25.00 for my records - and I can not afford that at this time. I think this is completely ridiculous and I have read over 10 reviews in which patients are stating they had a similar experience. What is wrong with this doctor? Also when going to his office for the first visit, he asked me to get completely undressed for an exam. Which was completely unnecessary. I am currently reporting him to the AZ Medical Board. Not out of spite, but because I believe he should not be treating patients like this. It's terrible. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Pinnamaneni's for two years. It is my belief, by sheer simple calculation, during 50 years of Dr. Pinnamaneni's career, he has had over 400,000 patient contacts or healthcare decision points thus far as noted in his policies. With this high volume of service encounters, it is nearly impossible to make all patients content with his decisions regarding the best possible treatment of their personal healthcare. From reading some of the comments posted on web portals, I understand a few patients were aggrieved due to their misguided information directed towards Dr. Pinnamaneni or his services in office. I believe some of those patients, who were unfairly retributive, attempted to spread or publish misplaced opinions by posting their wrongful accusations on a few websites, such as this website. Patient's personal opinions and feelings are just their own; and unquestionably Dr. Pinnamaneni has no control of freedom of speech of those service recipients even when they are harmful, wrong or unfair. However, in the future if one were to come across such misplaced unfair judgments, derogative disinformation and unwarranted comments questioning Dr. Pinnamaneni's professionalism or specialty competence, and one elects to believe it without neutrality before meeting Dr. Pinnamaneni, it would be best for them to find another physician immediately to protect the sacredness of the patient-physician relationship. I extracted some of the above information from Dr. Pinnamaneni's office policies and brochures I received as a patient. I fully concur with Dr. Pinnamaneni's expressed sentiment, which to me is honorable, honest and straightforward. It is my clear understanding that Dr. Pinnamaneni is not interested in getting involved in healthcare services with people that come to see him with preconceived ideas and prejudices. As a matter of fact, I asked Dr. Pinnamaneni during one of my follow ups about these blunderbuss accusations of impropriety posted on web portals. He advised me that some people unfortunately have bad experiences and end up with a hard life; and they try to project on others their difficult life experiences. Dr Pinnamaneni is one of the worse doctors I have ever seen. I have a goiter that he took a biopsy on and as he was preforming the biopsy he was yelling at his nurse the whole time which made me anxious. During the procedure I explained to him I could feel the needle going into my throat and it was hurting, his answer was, "that happens". I would have preferred him stopping and insuring I could not feel the multiple needles by numbing the area a little more. As soon as I left, I knew I needed a new doctor, one that cares. When I called the office to get my records, I was told to go to their website to get the release form and complete it and mail it to them and it would take 3 weeks to get. I completed the form and mailed it in and instead of getting my records, they mailed me a new form which had the same information on it but just rearranged differently along with a letter terminating me as a patient. This letter and new form came after the three weeks which pushed me back to wait another three weeks. Which resulted in me having to cancel on the new doctor twice. I'm so happy I made the decision to change doctors!! Not only does Dr Pinnamaneni not care about his patients but he is arrogant to the point that he could not just except he was loosing a patient, he had to go and terminate me as a patient. Dr. Pinnamaneni is a kind and gentle doctor. However, I have had nothing but problems with his staff. His staff has lied to me on two separate occasions and will not let me speak with Dr. P unless I make an appointment and pay a copay just to answer 1 question that I have. He's nice but dealing with his staff, in particular Lauren (I think), is NOT worth the hassle. He doesn't discipline his staff when they lie to patients. When Lauren was talking to me over the phone regarding my request, she said the literature doesn't support what I am requesting, even though I have a family history, and when I asked if this was coming from Dr. P she said no and when I asked if he could call me just to confirm what she was saying she would not allow it. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE staff and full of liars. If you ask me, she is retaliating against me for calling her out on lying previously. Horrible experience. Doctor Pinnamaneni was rude. Very dismissive, impatient, and condescending. He threw medical terms around and did not explain them well. Office atmosphere was great and the ladies at the desk were very professional. Someone messed up my urine test. They told me that I would have to pay out of pocket or deal with the lab myself. I asked at the desk about the radio-active isotope and gamma scan that I had to take the day off from work to have done. They sent me back to be seen by him again. He told me, very condescendingly, "Well I have it in my notes that I explained it to you". It was only 20 minutes prior. He commented that my cell phone was on and that he could dismiss me on that alone. I apologized and explained that I had switched it to airplane mode and that I was just listening to an audiobook that was already downloaded on my phone. The front desk told me that I could not get a copy of my scans and ultrasound. They gave me the paperwork for my blood work which I already had done with my primary care physician. Done read more
