I've got nothing negative to say about Desert Financial. I read the reviews and it seems like they are mostly over five years old and written by whiners and crybabies. I've had nothing but good service and friendly interactions with the staff at this branch. Polite, professional and prompt every time I've been inside or used the drive thru. My mom and I went across the street to the other bank at first, to open a new account. And they told us we needed to make an appointment, in an almost empty building. We were going to leave, and saw desert financial, and we figured why not test our luck today and go check it out. And immediately, we were helped! We sat with Jennifer Heisler, and she helped and answered all of my questions, she's helpful and funny, joking along with my family and I. They moved chairs from other cubicles so my siblings could sit with us. We were in and out within 20 minutes. I left feeling whiplashed with the incredible service we got and how fast we finished. They printed my debit card while I was there, and I had everything I needed when I left. I highly recommend coming here. :) read more

I've had Desert Financial for a few years. They have slowly but surely been going downhill, not that they were that great to begin with. They were just convenient. They've changed things in their terms and conditions to nickel and dime their account holders, charge fees for stupid little stuff, spy on your accounts to try to garner business, and just generally do non-appetizing things. I walked in and was greeting by a Josh. He was completely rude. He interrupted, wouldn't get the info I asked for and then proceeded to ignore me tell me to have a seat. This place is a joke. Everytime I come in here they screw things up or they tell me they can't do their jobs and unscrew me. I'm so sick of this bank and company that I have filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals, the treasury, and even the federal reserve. Don't go to this branch, period. I have had a hard enough time with Desert Schools as it is, this branch has only made it worse. They've lied to my face and made me wait 10 months for my new debit card. Here's what happened. Last two times my card expired, DS was late sending it out. This time, it was expiring at the end of January, so I called early to make sure it would be sent. Yes, they said, it was sent, if be getting it in the mail in about 11 days. I waited, nothing. Almost at the end of the month, I panicked and called again on my lunch break. They said it HAD been sent, they didn't know WHY I hadn't gotten it. Worried, the person on the phone suggested I cancel my card and go to a branch after work so they could print me a new card. I agreed, worried my new card (henceforth card A) had been stolen. I went to this branch - big mistake. BIG mistake. I stood in line for thirty minutes while tellers sat around and chatted, only one young woman actually doing her job. When I finally got to her, she told me she was sorry, they couldn't give me a new card. Excuse me? I clarified... did she mean this branch? Or at all. Another teller came over and smarted off that no branch in the whole state could print cards. I loudly asked if maybe I should just clean out my accounts and go to a bank that does issue cards? She panicked and backpedaled, saying that what she had REALLY meant was they couldn't at that counter. I had to go to the FRONT desk. So I did. Almost an hour later, I had a new card. It was a weird card. It had a chip in it, but no raised numbers. A new design? Maybe to save money? Oh well. (Henceforth card B). But then, after a few weeks, the numbers began to rub off. I had to carefully touch them up with a sharpie. Then the colors began to wear away. It looked like a fake card! I asked a cousin who used to work for Bank of America, and she informed me that what they had given me was a TEMPORARY card, not a real one. I wasn't mad yet - I mean... maybe I was given a cheap-butt temp card because systems were down? Seemed possible. My sister and I went back into this branch - maybe now they could print me an actual one, since card B was all but falling apart. I went straight to the front desk, remembering that last time the main tellers couldn't help me. I showed the man my card, explained the situation, and asked if he could help. He asked for my name, last four SSN, and looked up my account.... No, he said, he couldn't help me with my card. According to my account, he said, pointing to the screen as he said so, it was a chip card thing. I was scheduled to get a new card, an actual card in August, and if he replaced my temporary one now, it would not only cancel my August card, but would have to be a whole new number again. So I just had to wait. This was the end of March. Finally, card A, the card I should have gotten in early January, came in the mail. I nearly cried. And I touched card B up with sharpie again, this time adding a piece of tape to it to help it last longer, and waited. For FIVE MONTHS I waited. Do you know how many bad looks you get with a fake looking debit card? It was humiliating! Five months!! But, then, August came and went. Mid September, I called on the phone to ask about my card. Had it been sent YET??? WELL guess what? My account said NOTHING about a card. Because this ruddy branch marked cheap-butt temp card B as my PERMANENT card back in January. Phone person was baffled - they're a full service branch, they should have given me a new card if mine was falling apart, and he had no idea why the person clearly lied about looking up my account and saying a card was scheduled for me in August. THEY LIED RIGHT TO MY FACE. What, was I speaking in dolphin? I waited now TEN MONTHS FOR A CARD THAT WAS NEVER COMING. Thankfully phone person was competent. He ordered me a card, and look at this, I got it in less than two weeks. NEVER go to this branch! Its run by a bunch of yay-hoos who obviously can't function, type, or even listen and who, if they don't know what they're doing, will lie to you to get you back out the door so they can get back to chatting at the water cooler instead of doing their jobs. read more

I have been with desert schools for many years, and have never had any big issues. They've always been very respectful with awesome customer service and most all of them still are especially my go to branch on 34th st and bell rd!! But the experience at this location has never been great (I've been to this one a few times) but today was absolutely horrible. I didn't want to deposit my checks and just cash them and he told me they're not allowed (I do this all the time at other branches, and even if it is the policy that's not the main point of this review) I then told him I do it all the time and he didn't even look at me he just said "well we can't" and continue with the transaction. Without asking if I still wanted to do it he says the total and asked how I wanted my cash. I was cashing 2 checks, the total he said was for 1 check, I said "are you sure thats the total of 1 of the checks and you have 2 in front of you?" Again without looking at me just staring at his computer he says "yep that's the total, how do you want your cash?" Long story short I had to teach him to add, got my correct amount and left extremely irritated. I hope someone from Desert Financial Credit Union can come teach this location some customer service and get rid of the untrained disrespectful tellers before they start loosing customers. read more

So today at 9:30am my wife Kala called the customer service number to find out the standing on a dispute for a charge she didnt make as well as being double charged for cigarettes yesterday. My wife is terminally I'll with cancer, also had some complications regarding her transition from female to male, and her testosterone/estrogen levels, I'm saying this because the complication made her voice very deep, kinda manly. She had a chamge of heart about the transition and wanted to embrace womanhood, shortly there after my wife learned she fell ill. So she called to see if she could expedite the dispute bexause she needs to pay for some medication. She gets a female on the phone advised her to discuss disputes that she needs to speak to a manager. So than a person by the name of Susan who claimed to be a supervisor. To me sounded more like a trainee or highly unqualified on these recordings, its embarrassimg this person is so sexist and racist on these calls. Its appauling. It literally made mw cringe the way this woman just hammered on the terrible rudeness and just incredibly mean personality it was scary.. I feel terrible for anuond around this person. I know I would find her attitude towards the LGBQT community. It's offensive.. She could not accept that my wife was a woman who thought she wamted to transition to a male and has a deep voice. Even with identidyimg herself with her SSN, DOB, ADD, ACCT#, NAME, MIDDLE NAME, EMP, LAST DEP DATE, LAST TRANS and PIN#. Than Susan demands her to provide her drivers licence number, she has no license shes terminal... So she demands her State ID # which my wife politely told Susan that she has no license and lost her ID. Susan told her this is the one and only way to ID any person filing a dispute, even though she's disputed these type of things in the past. So Susan is a liar, but still demanded the #. So my wife gets the stupid iD # calls back, transferred to Supervisor Steven, basically the manager skills id say equivalent to a 5th grade crossing guard assistant in the management skills he has. It's fairly clear he was raised in a homeless shelter by a crystal meth pipe he thought was his dad since birth. Or hes just outright no moral having jerk.. I can only pray this sick sick sick man has no children. Wife, girlfriend. Family, cause it's pretty clear he's a sociopath.. My wife was breaking down on the phone and hes chuckling. Like an evil chuckle, which I assume he picked up peeping in Windows. Scary creepy guy.. Than this disturbing gentleman said that now since she provided he id# that didnt cut it, amd because susan has a problem with being put in check which I only can assume she's single with that personality and appearance, its lil3 bearded lady at the circus, shave that face Susan yuck!!!
