This place is huge and has so many plants both outdoor and indoor. All the plants are organized by type. It was busy on a Saturday morning but since it is a large space you are able to walk around without bumping into other people. They offer several garden supplies. They have a sign to inform the customers they don't offer warranty on the plants once they leave the premise unless they plant it for you. I liked that most of the plants had prices. The small succulent 6-pack sections did not have pricing but I was able to check-in with the front and ask for the pricing. They also helped me find the price of a statue. All the plants appear to be healthy and they look beautiful. Since some of the other Yelp reviews wrote about plants not surviving or being diseased I would start with a smaller plant and see how it does. read more

We are extremely happy about our recent experience purchasing four 48" box trees from Desert Horizon Nursery. We dealt with Geri who was an absolute delight to work with. She made our experience not only fun but was willing to show us anything we wanted to see, answered our many questions and was extremely patient when we changed our mind. The nursery referred us to the company who would add the irrigation and plant our trees, Hard Wood Scapes, and they also were a wonderful company to deal with. I spent over $20,000 there and half of my trees died , After my research, many of there trees came from Florida and other state not Arizona , that makes a big difference for a transplant., they also purchase trees from other nurseries that are dying with diseases, fungus etc and he tries to bring them back to life, and then he sells them to you .. They also planted a very large 1 pineapple palm tree crooked The crane alone cost me $700 for 20 minutes worth of work Don't trust Jeremy , Audrey , Jesse etc . I am not inclined to recommend Desert Horizon as they do not stand by their warranty and are unable to install trees correctly. We hired a licensed arborist who re-installed two trees as planted too deep and were not staked. I purchased a Leslie Roy Mesquite tree from Desert Horizon that unfortunately fell over during a recent monsoon storm. When I contacted them about warranty coverage, I was disappointed with both their response and lack of accountability. Improper Installation: A licensed arborist we consulted determined the tree was planted too deep (needed to be raised about a foot) and lacked proper staking, both critical for newly planted trees Contradictory Policies: Desert Horizon stated they don't typically stake multi-trunk trees because branches might break in wind, yet acknowledged staking prevents trees from "blowing over" - exactly what happened to ours Warranty Denial: They denied our claim without inspecting the tree or installation site, immediately shifting responsibility to us as customers Lack of Guidance: No proper maintenance instructions were provided at installation, yet they expected us to know to thin the tree before monsoon season Their Response: Rather than taking responsibility or investigating, Desert Horizon claimed the tree was "planted correctly" and suggested we have our landscaper fix it ourselves. This directly contradicted the professional arborist's assessment. Recommendation: If you purchase from Desert Horizon, I'd strongly recommend having an independent arborist verify proper planting depth and staking requirements, and get all maintenance instructions in writing upfront. read more

Wow!! I was impressed just pulling in to the parking lot. This place is huge and fun to explore. They had a larger selection of big trees and also fruit trees -- so many kinds of fruit and varieties I don't see often. I asked if it was time to plant fig trees yet and was advised to wait until its a little cooler. I appreciate solid advice instead of pushing a sale that day. I found a gorgeous apricot hibiscus I hadn't seen before and also bought some flowers for containers. I'll definitely be back to buy more plants! read more

I purchased 2 large hanging flower pots with Patunias on Saturday 5/3. The were hung at home in full sun and watered on Sunday and Monday. By Tuesday 5/6 THREE DAYS later they were completely dead and wilted. I paid $38 each for them. I spent a few hundred dollars on other items that day as well. Pictures below are the flowers as of 5/7 For the amount of money they cost, and as "hardy" as they are supposed to be I imagine they'd last longer than a couple of days. I understand they do not warranty the plants once they leave and are 'planted and watered' as it states on the receipt. But these were hanging flowers that were planted by the nursery, I never planted them at my home. I could have gotten better quality flowers for half of the price at Home Depot so I will not be returning or recommending this nursery to my clients, or friends. read more

A great nursery! Audrey was so helpful when I came in looking for a fountain. James and his assistant, who I failed to get his name were so awesome delivering and installing my fountain. They delivered the fountain last week, and we quickly discovered that I needed to have the electrician back to modify what I had done prior to buying the fountain. No problem, they said. We will come back when you are ready! One week later, they came back and were SO patient with me asking to move the column a little to the left and a little forward until it was perfect! Bought a couple of expensive ash trees from this place. One of them is not growing so we had a couple of arborists out to treat it and see what was wrong with it. Both arborists said it was a root bound tree and would never grow. So we went and talked to the girl at the check out desk, she said it's impossible to have a root bound tree in the ground. Which means that she knows they sold us a root bound tree, and they planted it anyway. She then told us that once a tree leaves their property there is no warranty... seriously?!? It literally makes no sense. And on top of that she was very rude. Don't buy from here. All the other reviews are absolutely correct, they are scam artists and do not care for their customers or products at all. read more

Desert Horizon is a beautiful however their customer service is horrible. Recently we went looking for plants and found a trellis. We asked for a price and the young man was super nice and gave us a price. He mentioned if we were working with a contractor they sometimes are eligible for discount. We said we were working with a contractor and we would pass this along. After disclosing the name of the contractor the young man said actually that particular contractor is top tier so yes they would get the discount but the purchase would have to be done by them. My contractor then contacted his person who told him, "no there is no discount". Then we called and spoke to the same young man who gave us the price. After numerous tries in the computer he finally found the price and said the trellis would be $267. He said for us to have our contractor provide the correct info and they would be able to see the discount in the computer. The long and the short of this review is that after multiple attempts to purchase I emailed the owner and she finally responded. Karrie the owner said they do not discount the trellis and the young man (I will not mention his name) should have never given us that price. I again mentioned he looked the price up in the computer three different times. The owner again said he was wrong to have given us the price. Bottom line she would not honor the price he quoted us. This place is very expensive and even if the young man made a mistake, both Karrie and the manager Audrey were quick to pass the buck and blame this young man. What a way to run your business. Might look pretty but I refuse to give my money to a greedy business. The regular price was about $60.00 more than what he quoted. We finally went to Summerwinds Nursery in Mesa! They were awesome to work with. They even gave us a discount and all their plants are guaranteed for a full year. read more

We went on vacation last spring with tons of peaches on our tree. After being gone a week we came home to four deceased birds and our tree totally destroyed so we cut it back and well it died so we went in search of a new tree to plant in our backyard. I somehow managed to talk my boyfriend into purchasing something other than another peach tree since we love to travel so much and he went on a mission to find a reputable tree nursery near by and well here we are. We were both blown away by how beautiful this nursery is it's a one stop shop for your outdoor landscaping needs. They have everything from beautiful Mexican pottery to fruit plants we decided on an All in one almond tree it's absolutely gorgeous the blossoms really add some beauty to our yard. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about how to grow most of the plants and trees. I would most definitely recommend this nursery and will be returning myself. read more

We first visited Moon Valley where we found the Desert Willow tree we were thinking of purchasing. We were told the cost was $229. We were a little surprised it was that much. When we returned home I called Desert Horizon and were told the same size Desert Willow was only $129. So I went over to Desert Willow and bought two! When there I talked to Travis. This is a wonderful, well-stocked, nursery. The grounds are extensive and they have all kinds of shrubs, flowers, trees, plants etc. I went there looking for a turpentine bush, which I could not find at any nursery in Phoenix. They had a big selection of turpentine bushes at Desert Horizon. The people who work at Desert Horizons are extremely nice and really try to be helpful. I was asked a number of times if I needed help finding something. As I was checking out, the employee noticed that I had bought a wrong plant and took the time to go to the far reaches of the property to exchange it for me. That's how nice they are! The only drawback of this nursery is that it is located far from the Phoenix metro area in Queen Creek. It is past the Mesa-Gateway Airport. Of course, if you're like me and really wanted a particular plant, it's worth the trip. On the whole, I fully recommend Desert Horizons Nursery. read more

We arrived at 4:50 p.m. yesterday because of an accident on Ellsworth, but still before their posted close at 5:00. Chuck was closing the gates and my wife explained we weren't there to browse, but to buy 3 Hopseed bushes we had picked out the day before. Chuck gave my wife smarmy attitude like he owned the place (maybe he does) and he alone had Hopseed bushes that he would gladly sell us at 8 a.m. tomorrow. I get the fact that it's sometimes hard to get "browser's" to leave after you've closed, and even that you've preemptively closed the registers because Chuck's first gin and tonic ain't drinking itself. I cannot with good intentions recommend buying a fountain from Desert Horizons. We purchased a fountain from them and had them set it up. We have followed their maintenance instructions and the fountain is falling apart. Unfortunately, the fountain is two years old and the warranty is expired. We followed up with desert horizons who said they don't see them deteriorating that quick but unfortunately they can't do anything about it. It's unfortunate considering the money we spent. We ordered trees, waited months for them to be delivered and planted. Only for the day they were expected to be planted, to find out that our paperwork was never submitted. The manager, Jesse, tried to place blame on us as if we are the employee who submits paperwork. Instead of trying to figure out how to fix the problem and mistake (because we understand mistakes happen) he was incredibly rude and had consistent attitude. It was incredibly disappointing seeing as the salesperson who helped us initially was wonderful and they have a beautiful shop. Decided to check this place out to see what kind of selections they had. This place is pretty big and they got koi fishes in their little ponds and chickens roaming around which was exciting for the kids to see. They had a pretty good selections of things and we, as a family enjoyed looking at everything. They also enjoyed looking at their big fruit trees in the back. Would never buy a plant from here. Got one as a gift, potted by them, and it was in absolutely terrible condition. All the leaves it came with have completely fallen off within 3 weeks. Should have never been sold, let alone the $80 the gift we paid for it! It also had a rubber band on the lower part of the plant inside the soil that shouldn't have been there. It's barley surviving after being repotted but let's see how long it lasts. read more

Desert Horizon staff is always the most helpful and has the healthiest plants. I recently needed a tree trimmer who really knows what they are doing as my young Ironwood needed some shaping. Anyway they referred me to Leo Sosa at Sosa Tree Trimming and Landscaping and he is really THE BEST and took time to educate me on the health of my trees, as well as pointed out a few other problems in my landscape that I could fix on my own. He did a wonderful job with my Ironwood and trimmed all 3 of my Red Push Pistache trees and now my yard looks amazing! read more

I paid for this company to bring me a new cactus and they agreed to help me assess the condition of my old cactus to replant it accordingly. (I've spent a total of 4k from them in the last few months) Basically, they are only out for your dollar in the moment and are zero help once they have your money. Instead of having a conversation with me (which I asked them to grab me when they arrived to plant the cactus) they made a judgement call without my permission that my old cactus was not salvageable. They put it on their truck never to be seen again. What should have been a conversation turned into theft of my property. The 4 cacti pups that were completely green (and I have proof in a photo taken a day before removal) were thrown away on their property without my consent. I called my salesperson the next day to ask if they could check their truck for these, and she said that it was her fault for not communicating that they were bringing them back to let them callus over for me. She said she would call me the next day to let me know if they found them. I never received a phone call back and had to call for days just to get a response. Now the story is that they were just not salvageable (Great communication yet again.) Regardless, they did not have a right to remove my property without my consent. ON TOP of all of this. The male I spoke with on the phone who said his name was Jessie would not authorize a replacement of a couple baby cacti. I pointed out that because they took my property, they should return it and I was not going to pay for them to deliver it. They literally took it away without permission. He said he needed to speak with his manager and get back to me. Then.... He called and left a voicemail saying his manager wouldn't authorize the delivery. When I called him back to express my dissatisfaction and to ask to speak to his manager he said he owns all of Desert Horizon. I pointed out that he lied to me then when he said he needed to speak to his manager if he was the owner. He admitted verbatim that he did in fact lie to me and had no manager to get authorization from and it was in fact him that made the call to not return my property. Then he said "Are we done here" before giving me a chance to respond he hung up on me. Maybe they will deliver your plants and you will have no issues, but do you want to do business with a company that openly lies to their customers and makes judgement calls in regard to your plants before running it by you first? This company has stolen from me and that should not be acceptable. Do yourself a favor and go to Moon Valley Nursery. They just opened up not even a mile from Desert Horizon. read more

Terrible experience! Purchased a blue bell emu in mid September. The employee who helped us told us how to plant and water it and also told us there was a 90 day warranty. We followed his planting and watering instructions and provided protection from the harsh afternoon sun. Plant never took off and foliage became dry and brittle within a few weeks. We took the plant back in mid October and were told the plants are not under warranty. Employees were very rude and when we asked to speak to management we were told that management was too busy to talk to us. Buy your plants at Home Depot or Lowes. We have never had trouble with plants from them and friends who have had problems say they honor their warranty every time. read more
