They have a MASSIVE selection of western herbs and the quality cannot be beat. They also have a ton of Chinese formulas plus tinctures, salves, balms ointment and......HOME-MADE-FLORIDA WATER!! Oh, and they have a bunch of beautiful teas as well. The ladies working there were very kind, patient and knowledgable. I will certainly be back begging them to take my money. Even better, now I have a local shop with everything I need and I don't have to call up Berkeley for my herb orders. I feel really grateful to have found Red Root.

Before the workshop, some friends had the opportunity to peruse the wide array of herbs and plants offered by store. It had to be the largest selection I've ever seen! Thank you Kate for answering all of our questions. I'd also love to give a big shout out to Dra. Mónica Lucero! She is a light in every room and inspires -- the community is lucky to have such a great practitioner in their midst. Unfortunately I didn't have time to get treatment during my visit, but the interactions I observed between client and practitioner reassures that Red Root is dedicated to providing care kindly, with vast knowledge, and professional excellence.

I've been seeing Dr. Meade for awhile now, and I can't recommend her highly enough. I started going…read moreto Acuquerque after having acupuncture suggested to me for a long time to address back pain. I finally looked up who was in network and close by, and decided to give Acuquerque a shot. I'm so glad I did! From the moment I called, I felt as if I was respected as a person, not just a patient, and that my wellness and concerns were their top priority. They emailed me paperwork to fill out ahead of time, so that I could save time during my actual visit. The first visit is two hours long; the first hour is spent talking with Dr. Meade about what you are interested in addressing with acupuncture, any conditions you may have, your current sleep/work situation/diet/etc. She focuses on how your body and mind are functioning as a whole, rather than just focusing on the area of my back that was hurting, to use my own example. The second hour dives into the actual acupuncture. I have to say, I was very nervous at this first visit, and I don't have a fear of needles or anything, it's just the unknown. I wasn't sure what to expect. What I discovered is that the needles go in so quickly, so smoothly, that I was barely aware that she was inserting them! While the needles do their work, a heat lamp was nearby to ensure that I didn't get too chilly (and to help the needles?). Afterwards, she removed the needles and did a brief massage with menthol, which feels amazing. I walk out of her office feeling lighter than I did coming in, and without the pain that brought me in. Acupuncture is cumulative, so the effects take time to build. After a session, I'm completely pain free for about 10-12 hours. I'm excited to see how this builds after I have more sessions. Bottom line: If you've ever thought about acupuncture, now is the time to try Acuquerque acupuncture. You'll wonder why you didn't come in before!

I wanted someone better than "good" because it's my face after all, and I was just two weeks into a new job, so I was very self-conscious. From a prior experience with a coworker I knew that treatments with acupuncture would be very helpful in speeding up the recovery time. I found Acuquerque here on Yelp and she had great reviews. I called and although they were booked into the next week, when I mentioned that I woke up with Bell's Palsy, they squeezed me in for an appointment the next day. I was so grateful! Not only did the treatments work really well, and my BP is gone, but the way she inserted the needles was the lightest touch I've ever had! I've been receiving treatments for over 20 years and Dr Lindsay has THE softest touch! I will definitely be going back.
