This place was amazingly good with a beautiful golf course setting. I had the tuna melt and onion rings. The tuna melt was delicious with sourdough bread. The onion rings were crispy and cooked to perfection. My bf had the Margo burger and said it was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the Tuna melt. To begin with the weather was horrendous. The winds were blustery and gusting at around 30 mph or more. The desert sand were blowing around all over the Palm Springs area. The staff in the clubhouse even mentioned that if the winds were too difficult they would cancel their reservations if so requested. Other than that the course was in excellent condition and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The greens were a little slow but were also in excellent condition. YELP SHORT ANSWER: If you can YES, It is a tee time and a pretty nice track. LOCATION: Very easy to find, parking can be a pain. I believe this is a semi private course with homeowners and resort guest able to play. Not sure on public access. FACILITY: The buildings are older and not in great shape, two courses are very nice for resort type golf. COURSE: my first time playing here as an invite from a friend/homeowner and the course we played was fun and fair. GROUND STAFF: on this busy day, everyone was in a bad mood as they had a tournament and resort guests lost everywhere! I am sure everyone here is super nice but when your overbooked this is what happens, grumpy golfers and employees. RATE of PLAY: On the day we played, it was almost a 6 hour round but we had a good time and never felt anyone in front of us was lagging but we'd stack 4 groups on the par 5's. So on the back nine, the four local members, homeowners, behind us were total dicks. Each had their own golf cart and hit into us several times. One guy named "The Dick who plays golf in a sweatsuit" seemed to want to comment when they'd arrive at the next tee box and there we were, waiting. One fat F' would express his dissatisfaction with a whiny "REALLY" with his head in his hands, it was so sad. Finally I had enough and asked if there was some problem which shut them up quickly. OVERALL VALUE: As a guest I am not sure on the resort fees so I cannot comment on costs, but the house was a joy to play. TIP: Be aware this cause is here to make money and they will stack foursomes up so if that drive you to drink, avoid busy days. read more

A terrific golf course! Lush green fairways lined with trees and water. The resort offers three different nine hole layouts so there is a wonderful variety of holes and looks. Terrible location, if you're here for vacation take your money elsewhere. The none stop loud landscaping activity from Monday-Sunday ruins any redeeming quality about this place which starts around 6:30am and continues without break until 4-5pm. Most of the time, they will mow the same spot in the lawn for 2/3 hours at a time just going in circles, which I'm guessing they're trying to rack up their time. Want to sit outside on the patio to enjoy a peaceful brunch? Have fun with the leaf blower guy taking his 8th round on your patio, blowing all the dust up into the air and into your food all at 95dB. Don't fall for the pretty pictures you see online, this place offers no peace and quiet which is anything but ideal when selecting a vacation location. Clean and well manicure country golf club. There was a coyote in the morning and I would suggest pet owners to be very careful with there pets. No cats or dogs allowed outside please. Always supervise. Always on a leash. Even at night. Keep cats indoors. The geese did chase the coyote away. Also I seen security did too. The pools are clean. This development is totally mismanaged. The HOA fees are $954 monthly, and will probably continue to rise. Nonstop noise almost every day, commencing at 7AM. Serious issues are never resolved, (ie burned out garages), but vanity projects get too priority. This place is a terrible investment. read more

November 2022, I played in a golf tournament here. I found the staff to be outstanding, welcomed me as a member of the public with no issues whatsoever. They have a full range, putting green, and an area to chip. So, everything you need to get your game tuned-up before playing. The golf course is well maintained and really fun, more water than you think so keep an eye out. While it is a 'resort course' don't take anything negative away from that because it is fairly wide open and has plenty of great views and challenging holes. The greens were good, early in the morning they did not hold, but as the day went on and things got warmer, the rolls were really true. Nice course and the cart guys are helpful but the Marshalls suck. One Marshall had no idea of the rules and wanted us off the course because we had well behaved kids with us. No one said anything about the kids from the start and this old guy comes at our hole and tells us to basically leave. Get your staff in check and make sure everyone is on the same page!! I've booked this course through a broker called Stand By Golf for $95 on a Sunday morning and it was worth every dime. The staff was just outstanding, welcomed me as a member of the public with no issues whatsoever. The golf course is immaculate really fun, more water than you think so it's a little bit challenging for a resort course but don't take anything away from that. The greens were just outstanding rolls really true and I had an absolutely great time. The bloody Mary at the shack was top 10 of all time really good, expensive but not outrageous. The only downside and that keeps this from being a five star is the quality of the rental clubs. Do not rent! They're old some brand name you never heard of, blades. Other than that a really great experience and 100% recommend it if you have your own clubs or you can rent from Stand By Golf for $20 less than you can here. read more

Visited the course, clubhouse & pro shop the day before our scheduled tee time. First impressions were very good! Marty, cart staff, approached us and asked if we needed any help with anything. He shared where all the key locations were. Told us the clientele is very nice and friendly. The next day we played La Vista (for our front 9) and Cielo (for the back 9). Both courses are very nice, well kept. Wide fairways and playable roughs. Greens were just seeded about 3 weeks ago and still very young, but smooth and members take care to repair divots! Pace can be a bit slow, but we were able to play here and there with a new group during the front as we kind of played through. Met up with others from our group who joined on the turn at Cielo. Finished in just about 5 hours. I would love to live in this community! It's really nice and a home on the course would be great to watch players going by on a regular basis. Other amenities two-way driving range (it's huge/long), putting & chipping areas. We played in the afternoon. Plan for 5 hour rounds. read more

Decent course, good prices as well. Definitely call ahead of time for a tee time though. I've stayed at the resort a few times and brought clubs and get turned away for last minute wanting to play. They also don't allow play without a collared shirt and don't provide shirts either to use like other golf resorts I've been to. Once upon a time the Desert Princess was so beautiful. Not any more! That place is run down with a crooked HOA that doesn't work for the people who live there like they once did. They are rude and don't attend to your concerns or complaints. The waterfalls out front don't work most of the time. The roads are cracked all over, lights are always broken or burned out so it is very dark at night. The theft rate is quite high which is surprising considering it's a gated community. Where is the security? What exactly do they do? They sure try to Beautify the place right before the Canadians come so they can charge their ridiculous rates. They don't do squat for those who live there full time. It's a crying sham to see the DP go down hill so much. read more

We played Desert Princess for the second time today with discount green fees from UnderPar. The course was very nice and well-maintained. However, the pro shop staff was very unwelcoming. They simply did not value our patronage and even made a derogatory comment about our ability to play a free second round under the deal offered online. I do not know why they offer these deals and then treat you like a second-class citizen. We thought our poor treatment the first time was a one off, so we decided to give them another shot at our patronage. This time was even worse. We will never go back. My advice to them is not to offer deals for reduced green fees and just cater to their members. Don't waste your money no matter the deal they offer. read more

Desert Princess is showing beautiful landscape for their country club ha ha; it is a bate and switch. We are on the driving range and the view is completely horrible. It is shameless they do not take care of the entire golf coarse. I guess the guest who are only one of the pins get the best view. The sad thing is everyone who lives here pays the exorbitant mo they dues if $630. last year it was beautiful, so what has happened? Cutting corners is not a recommendation! read more

Played golf only. Fairways are in mint condition. Greens slower than we are used to but still ok. Beautiful surroundings and views!!!! Pretty flat and easy course, surprised it's over a 115 on difficultly from the red tees. GHIN has it as 126. They have three nines. The two we played (Cielo-Vista) had some holes between the houses and some holes in the open. Played with nice people we met on the first tee box. June through August - $30 includes a sandwich after. I had to write an update on this course, in the last two years there have been some changes. After a round of golf, in the past they have allowed us to go back out if we wanted to. I love this place. I stayed her 8 days early March 2018. My friend live in a newly built home here. This was a fabulous place to live. In fact we were right next to the newest pool (#29)...... yes there are 29 pools to choose from. Aside from the golf, tennis, pro shop and massages.... this is one beautify landscaped development/resort. Terrible place ! They drain the ponds and let all the Koi die in the heat of summer. Mother duck and her ducklings too small to get out of drained cement pond and the resort does nothing. Please do not support a place that cares so little for the environment! They know this is happening and choose to turn a blind eye! read more

I have been coming to the Desert Princess two to three times a week for a couple of years to play racquetball with a group of friends. While the racquetball facilities are adequate, a new G.M. has recently been hired, who decided to stop offering racquetball-only memberships, which were $140 a year. The new rate for the fitness center (effective tomorrow) is now $84 per month -- an increase of 620%. I would love to have some of whatever the new G.M. was smoking when he decided that this place is worth $84 per month. Neither myself or any of the six other guys who I regularly play with will be paying that rate -- we will take our business elsewhere. My boyfriend and I came to Desert Princess to get massages while staying in Palm Springs. We made our reservations a couple of weeks in advance and were able to get the day and time we wanted. We were staying at the Double Tree Hotel next door, and the Desert Princess is about a five minute walk from the hotel. I must say it took us a few minutes to find where we had to go for the massages once we got to the building we were told the spa is in -- the spa is connected to the fitness room and you have to go through kind of like a maze to get to the spa. We eventually found where we were going though. I must say that my massage was fantastic, and my boyfriend said the same. I don't remember the name of the lady who did my massage, but she was very personable and applied just the right pressure during the massage. I felt like falling asleep during the massage!! I'd definitely come back here for a massage the next time I'm in Palm Springs. Our two massages came to $200 with tip. If you're staying at the Double Tree, they'll give you a discount on your massage, so remember to get the voucher for the discount at the hotel! Cheers! read more
