This review is for the driving range. It is absolutely stunning. Gorgeous views of the San Jacinto mountains. Hitting off grass with clearly marked flags so you know how far you hit it. $13 for a large bucket.

The eight of us returned here a year later today. What I took away today - cart path varied from 60-100 yards out from the green on most of the holes. This meant carrying several clubs including my putter. And then having to walk from the green back to the golf cart which also varied from 25-40 yards. I don't recall having to do this last year but it might have been the case. As a result of all this walking it'll be awhile before we return if ever.

    Near driving range.

2 beautiful courses with a fantastic backdrop of the mountains. Not a well known course due to its somewhat secluded location, so usually not too busy. The restaurant "On the Rocks" and bar serve well above average food and drinks @ reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly. Only complaint is the parking lot always looks bad. There seems to be little effort to landscape or provide attractive trash cans so trash is strewn about. People seem to come there just to drink and leave their beer bottles, etc. on the ground. Resurfacing the parking lot, putting up a few cameras, some landscaping & trash receptacles truly would be a game changer for this club.

Par 4 lol not sure .

I was really impressed Staff and the course . Great course well return again. $100 ride . bargain.

Decent green beyond which are all burned out fairways and rough

I am extremely disappointed that underPar endorses/sponsors this course. This course is an embarrassment to all of Palm Springs golf. Course totally burned out except for the greens which were in adequate to good condition. In addition to the horrible course conditions in the fairway and rough there is no water available on the course- in the desert! And no beverage cart either. You could not pay me to ever return to play this course.

Our FAVORITE course to play in the desert. Very reasonable prices and the mountain VIEWS!! WOW!! Always friendly staff (we have been here multiple times) and the courses are challenging. Love the layout of the course-wide fairways and NO houses on the perimeter so golf is pure and stress free (I hate narrow fairways and houses-can't relax and use your driver!) See you out there!

Great course with wonderful view; helpful staff! ----- Concise Review Nice, forgiving course. Friendly staff. Well maintained. Great views. ----- Longer Review We visited Southern California - Palm Desert, Yucaipa, and Malibu - for Spring Break 2021. We have been to Palm Desert many times and, yet, we have only played golf there once, before the kids were born. On this trip we wanted to play, but taking the heft and bulk of the clubs would be "worth it" only if we played more than once. We debated a bit in whether or not to bring the clubs; in the end we decided to bring them and Cimmaron made the decision a good one. We did not know about Cimmaron before heading to Palm Desert / Palm Springs. We asked the hotel for recommendations on where to play and they guided us to call and schedule through Standby Golf. So we called and Dave listened and recommended Cimmaron. It was a good recommendation. We ordered and paid for our tee times that morning, right there on the phone and then showed up later that afternoon and played... upon arrival they welcomed us to our carts. We had time for a little putting and then we were at the first tee. We played in the afternoon; mid-March in the desert is nice and not too hot. We got some sun and had fun playing. The views are wonderful along all the holes, whether they face Mt. San Jacinto or not. The course is a good mix of par 5, 4, & 3 holes. While there are few water hazards there are several traps. Some of the greens are deceiving, keeping you on your toes to find the right line to the cup. While this was the first time the four of us ever played golf together, the same is not the case for our much younger cousin. At 7 he's a great golfer, and he played this course very well... it was fun watching him play! And, as an extra treat, on the back nine, our daughter and I saw a roadrunner... this is the third time we've seen a roadrunner (like the cartoon but shorter) on a vacation in Palm Springs, and each time was on a blessed Sunday! Thank you, Cimmaron, for the great afternoon ----- ----- -----

I was testing out a putter on the practice green and simply moving golf balls out of the holes and toward the side of the putting surface when an employee abruptly approached me in a rude and demeaning manner, accusing me of "kicking his balls," which was completely untrue. The way he spoke to me was unnecessary, insulting, condescending, and unprofessional from the very beginning. When I asked for his name, he replied "Jim, the assistant manager" with a cocky attitude before walking away. About 10 minutes later, after apparently getting off his shift and changing clothes, Jim approached me again and sarcastically asked if I needed help with the putter. Considering the disrespectful way he had already spoken to me, I found it strange and antagonistic that he came back over at all. I told him I didn't understand why he was even speaking to me after treating me the way he did. The entire interaction left me feeling disrespected and uncomfortable, especially coming from someone in a management position. I will be contacting corporate because customers should never be treated in such a hostile and condescending manner.

Very odd in a sense which didn't feel right. Then we found this place driving by. It's a massive store. Plenty of parking out front. Front the outside it just looks like your usual store but once inside, it's like a mega golf store. Theres literally everything and anything you needed. Right at the front was where the replacement section was. The gentleman's working were very sweet in explaining everything and helping us out with picking what we need. One was doing all the replacements while the other one was helping us out. From there, it just takes a couple minutes. It was fine which gave us time to walk around and check the store out. We literally only did half of the store as it was massive. There's sections along the sides where you can practice your swings electronically. A putting green right in the middle to practice. Besides all the clubs and accessories, half of the store had a big apparel department with loads to choose from. There was so many clubs to choose from as well as whatever you may or may not need. If you're a golfer, this is like Willy Wonka factory but golf. Worth checking out.

If you're wondering where to go for your tennis, golf or athletic gear needs, stop pondering. This is your place -- and here's why. With two hours to spare before my daughter's HS varsity tennis tryouts, I was frantically Googling where to get her a quality racket and actual legit tennis shoes. I remembered someone recommending Pete Carlson's, checked the website, saw they closed at 6pm, and we raced across town. We pull up and a man wearing a helmet, about to leave on his scooter, yells over that they actually closed at 5. It was 5:10. Any parent knows what came next: "Great, Mom! Now I have no racket or shoes for tryouts!" I pulled up the website to show him it said 6pm, fully expecting him to ride off into the sunset and tell us to come back tomorrow. Instead, he parked his scooter, took off his helmet, looked at my daughter and said, "We can't have you going to tryouts with no racket or shoes. Follow me -- let's get you what you came for." Enter Raul, the unicorn of customer service. He reopened the store for us and then proceeded to give us some of the most thorough, genuinely caring customer service I've experienced. He didn't rush us AT ALL. He took the time to help my daughter find the right racket and tennis shoes so she could walk into varsity tryouts feeling confident and prepared. And Raul apparently isn't the only one drinking the magical customer-service water over there. I had previously called with a tennis question and that employee was fantastic too. Clearly, great service is part of the culture here. What also impressed me was how much pride Raul takes in his job and how highly he spoke of the owner and the hard work that grew the business from a small area in front into the large store it is today. You could tell he genuinely cares about the business and its customers. There are plenty of big-box sporting goods stores, but this experience reminded me why supporting businesses like Pete Carlson's matters. If you want quality merchandise AND people who actually care about helping you find what you need, go to Pete Carlson's Golf & Tennis in Palm Desert -- and ask for Raul! Thank you, Raul, for setting the customer-service bar ridiculously high. We truly appreciated you going so far above and beyond!

*Best Dick's in Town"…read more Dick's is a mega-corporate chain that's now the #1 sporting goods retailer in the U.S, with over 700 locations as of 2024. Dicks had an IPO back in 2002 and trades on the NYSE under the ticket symbol DKS. Their retail prices are standard. But also some very reasonable pricing and great discounts & sales too. I still miss Sport Chalet and Sports Authority that unfortunately filed for Bankruptcy back in 2016. I also prefer to shop local and support the Mom & Pop shops. But brick and mortar sporting goods stores have become dinosaurs...so I've grown to like Dick's. It's become one of my go-to's when I prefer to try something on or experience the product prior, opposed to online shopping. And Dick's has much better quality brands and inventory compared to Big 5. Been to this location a handful of times, and each time made a purchase. I've also ordered from their website once because the size of the item I wanted wasn't in stock. The layout here is decent but the store itself is always clean and pretty well-stocked. There's usually a fair amount of store team members wandering around either stocking or tidying the sleeves & racks. A few of the Team Members here are very helpful & kind and seem to care about customer service and experiences. Reason for knocking off a star? Some of the team members here, as well as the ones at the check-out register, appear as what I call "dialing-it-in and punching a time clock" because they act as tho they don't wanna be here...and are too cool for the room. I wonder if this stems from management here...or they haven't a clue and my reason for pointing this out. Because some of Dick's Team Members need to be better Team Players or go take a seat on the bench.
