Everything went well from the moment i arrived, to seeing Dr. Frank Schuler who had the best bedside manner I've ever experienced from a doctor! I felt he listened and heard what i said, he asked pertinent questions and by the next day, i was so much better! I have a tendency of breaking out with excruciating eczema and because I've experienced years of these breakouts i was freaking out. He prescribed a shot, which Rusty (nurse) gave me and also was attentive and gentle. I picked up my prescriptions and have been taking them as prescribed. It's amazing how being seen by a good doctor makes all the difference in the world! The office staff was also very efficient and professional! for the past 5 months i've been suffering from health issues back to back. countless symptoms, ER visits back to back. The ER dismissed me nearly everytime, with a different reason, and would just do a general bloodwork and let me go. i changed doctors twice, and switched my PCP. I've been through hell and back with numerous neurological symptoms, but i went to my PCP for a COMPLETELY different medical reason. i've been having really bad kidney/middle back pain. nothing to do with my spine. My PCP, Dr. Mustaqeem Qazi, referred me to priority care to see a doctor named Dr. Afridi Nadeem. He is a doctor of priority care in this location. I am an extremely non confrontational person. I was extremely nice. waited for him in the room. The moment he walked through the door, he had a smug look on his face. He asked me what brought me in here. I explained i've been having kidney and back pain, and if we can run some tests to rule it out. Not only he denied me treatment, he was extremely condescending and said before he saw me, he had looked through my chart and saw i had been in the emergency room countless of times, and gotten the amount of tests done for a 90 year old. I told him yes, unfortunately i had to go through that. I'm young and only 21, but this is a completely separate issue. He said he does not feel bad for me, and that sometimes he has a headache and doesn't go to the doctor for it, while smiling. I proceeded to tell him I wouldn't have gone to the doctor if it wasn't serious to me. He shook his head, and said I physically look healthy and i'm young, so nothing could possibly be wrong with me. He said "in fact, what you have is a beautiful story! it's beautiful! nothing looks wrong with you, so learn how to be more positive." I told him I don't think me going through pain is "beautiful." He proceeded to laugh in my face and denied service and treatment. I told him kindly, I think i'll take my business elsewhere with someone who takes me seriously. He laughed and said "yes, you should go do that." He proceeded to say "im going to leave a note for dr. qazi, let him know what we discussed today, and how you look perfectly fine." I told him "perfect, and i'll also give him a call." As i stand to leave, he gets in my face and says "seriously, have a beautiful day" very passive aggressively. I left the room crying, and honestly upset at myself for not standing my ground. I asked for his information and left. yesterday i received a random call from behavioral health services, informing me a referral was sent for psychiatric help and mental health services. Mind you, im completely mentally stable. I was upset and thought for a second my primary care doctor had sent it. just for only now to have received a letter of a referral that was from that doctor himself. Dr. Afridi Nadeem. I had not once requested this referral. I showed no signs of issues with mental health. All I wanted was relief from back pain. And just because of my past history with medical issues and pain, they have labeled me as crazy. I'm losing more and more hope by the day with the american healthcare system, and doctors who keep failing us. I received a letter today of the behavioral healths services referral, and it was shown it was referred not only by the doctor who saw me, but also by my primary care physician, Dr. Qazi. showing both have talked about me and have concluded because i keep going back for pain, i need mental help and psychiatric help. i feel let down, and would highly recommend to see someone else if you want to be taken seriously. and guess what! A few days later, i went to Mexico instead for testing, and i've already found answers. read more

What happened to my daughter When I left- I was diagnosed with a disease. They told me they'd send me to Henry mayo Newhall and I was interested halfway. When I got there- they had no bed for me as I was told. No care setup and I was left outside in cold. I couldn't return to my care facility and had no way of finding care. I am still homeless waiting on a solution or care. Horrible bait and switch! And no caring for what happened to me. Just get her out of here is how I was treated. read more

I was very, very sick and went in for care (it's now called Desert Oasis Immediate Care). They were outstanding! The Dr. was very thorough and they did blood work and found my WBC was high so they gave me IV fluids and antibiotics. Before being released the Dr. asked me to come in the following AM for a recheck first thing, So glad he did, they gave me more fluids and antibiotics (right before the weekend) which helped tremendously along with a prescription and today I am all well thanks to a wonderful Dr., nurses and the whole team at Desert Oasis Immediate Care. DONT GO HERE!!! GO ANYWHERE ELSE BEFORE WASTING YOUR TIME. I called ahead and told them I was coming in with my daughter, showed up and they said they sont take her insurance and they can't see her. I said ok, let me pay out of pocket, and the lady at the front said "no that's fraud", so if I hadn't said she had insurance, she would have been able to be seen?! MY DAUGHTER IS 3 with a 103 fever that I explained over and over to these heartless people as they look my extremely sick toddler in the face and tell her, we can't see you, and NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY!!!! read more

I have nothing but good things to say about the nursing and office staff. Friendly, professional, and provided clear communication. But I will not return as long as Dr. Schuler works there. I walked in wearing a mask as I had a nasty wet cough and wanted to be courteous to the rest of the patients, who were geriatric. I waited for 90 minutes (with one person ahead of me, the rest were heart patients with appointments) to get called back and ended up spending another 90 minutes in the exam room. They clearly need to hire more doctors. The doctor walked in and smiled as if I was being silly and said I could take off my mask. Ok, no problem - it's tough to hear me with my hoarse voice and he needs to examine me. I didn't need him to tell me I had bronchitis and an ear infection, but of course, tests. As all of the nursing staff that came into my room to assist me were wearing masks, I put mine back on. Finally when the doctor came back, he blamed the long wait on the x ray backup, although that was the fastest and easiest part of the whole process and the tech was excellent. Perhaps if he wasn't busy texting when I walked past his office, his patients would receive faster care. My mask was hanging from my ear as I was alone in the room, and he said "you really like wearing that mask don't you!" I replied that I was being courteous to his staff who were all masked. He laughed condescendingly and said "they're crazy. I didn't wear a mask at all during the pandemic!" Yeah bro, that's why you work at an urgent care where people walk in knowing what their issue is. I don't respect your medically unsound opinion. Just give me my z pack. Whether you have some weird hangup about *other people* wearing masks, polite people know to keep their unwelcome opinions to themselves. This wasn't the only weird or creepy interaction with him but it was the most alarming. I feel sorry for the staff that have to work with him. read more

Our experience at the facility was routine and fairy uneventful, but I'm prompted to write this review because they did NOT call in my prescription like they said they would. So two hours later I show up at the pharmacy and had to wait 20 minutes with a screaming toddler while the nice pharmacist called this place back to get the prescription info. I'm not really sure what the issue was but two hours seems like plenty of time to call in a prescription to a pharmacy- especially since we were the only people here! read more

On 1/17/2020, I was experiencing back pain different from what I normally have. I wasn't able to see my doctor that day and I was leaving on a trip the next day. I went to DOHC Immediate Care, not sure they'd be able to do anything for me but hoping they could. The front desk staff were very friendly and professional. The wait was about 30 minutes or so. The doctor I saw, Timothy Spero, was very kind and caring and calming. After listening very intently to me, he told me what he thought it was going on. They gave me a shot in my him to help immediately. He also wrote a prescription for 6 days of steroids with helped me tremendously. I was able to go on the trip and enjoy myself. I've only been to one other urgent care facility but I believe DOHC Immediate Care should be a model for them all. I'm a VERY HAPPY patient!!! read more

The worst experience in every way. My ac got stuck on 62° for two days before somebody came to fix it and they couldn't move me. The mattress was 2" thick. I would have slept on the floor if my leg wasn't broken. I couldn't identify any of the food on my plate. They never changed my bandage until I finally saw my surgeon for release and after I brought it to his attention he was shocked. The whole 5 days I was there, I never saw the floor swept or mopped. The traveling nurses didn't know what the other was doing and didn't care. Nothing was done correctly and I wouldn't take my dog there. I know the list goes on, but I think I have made my point. read more

I've been here twice. First time fair, just okay. Kind of lackadaisical treatment. No diagnosis or relief. Second time.. meh. Nice front desk people. But I kept saying I was going to pass out, and they kept having me get up and down to fill out forms, pick up my card, etc.. Would have preferred to lay down as I was super dizzy, or at least have them get up and help me out a bit. Despite the name "Immediate Care"-- be clear it is NOT Urgent Care (not that an U.C. is urgent either, but I digress). It is kind of more like a 'when we get to you.. even if you're going to pass out' sense of urgency. And honestly, when a patient walks in with what could have been heart attack symptoms for women, and the patient wrote them down on an index card because they were so dizzy, feverish, not well and just not sure how much longer they'd be vertical, you might want to bump up the sense of urgency and read the card (No one would read the card!). The very young intake nurse (?), though sweet, was so sleepy, eyes half open, kept yawning and was just mumbling her words, was asking me questions that did not even make sense, and used such incomplete language that I could not make any form of an actual sentence or question at times.. (if I could barely hear as well, as she spoke so softly.). I was sad to see she was going to be the one who was going to take vials of blood. I just had a bad feeling. She went straight for my hands for the I.V. also, and I said "no, use these veins". She proceeded to inspect my hands, then moved to the top of my arms; again I said "no" and pointed to interior of my arm at the elbow, where typically all my I.V.s or blood have been drawn from. At this point, I was getting frustrated that clearly she did not quite know what she was doing. And, didn't listen at all. Let's just say "she was in her own zone". And, she kept asking the same questions over and over, answers I had already given. Then, she proceeded to poke the hell out of the top of my right arm, trying to get an I.V. Painful. I thought, okay, fine. She's obviously learning.. I'll cut her some slack. She still can't get the tube/needle in. Tried to put vials on and collect blood, but with minimal results. So, then she proceeds to do the same to the left arm.. clearly no clue how to do this correctly. Someone should have been supervising her I think. This hurt quite a bit. I kept saying "owwwww" this time to give her a heads up. She kept saying "it hurts?". Um, yes. "Owww" = "it hurts". Continued poking around...Eventually, after quite some time and lots of needle poking, she managed to get the tube/needle in, and draw blood. Then another gal walks in and says, "Oh, we got enough from the little bit from the first draw." (paraphrased) FML! She had not bothered to ask how much she needed, or if what she had already drawn was enough. Oddly, she kept drawing blood. Vials and vials. I still don't understand why. I felt too terrible to get further involved in the minutia. Anyway, overall as various things were done, it was all just awkward, no sense of routine, no sense I was actually being listened to. I did sense that this was maybe not an experienced group of individuals (all very young, including physician). The physician was a lovely man though; However I did not feel at all confident with his treatment/care. Essentially, I left feeling worse than I did when I came in (and did tell this to the front desk ladies, in case it mattered... Apparently it didn't, as they sent me on my way.) Logically, wouldn't someone have, at the minimum, not left me leave in worse condition? They physician, as sweet as he was, said a few off-hand things, indicating he had already sort of written me off because he could not make a diagnosis (or treatment). And, at which point, I had written him off as a source for proper diagnosis and/or treatment. It's now several days later, and I'm worse than I was when I left Desert Regional Immediate Care. In addition, my arms now have larges bruises and also now hurt due to all the I.V. attempts. My husband was shocked at how my arms looked. Now, I'm seeking an Internal Medicine physician who can see me asap, as I don't have a physician in the area. (Which is why I had to go to an Immediate Care type of facility). In summary, if you have a non-urgent, non-immediate, simple condition (e.g. a cold, a fever, etc..), and want a facility with nice people, maybe they would be okay. If you have anything going on beyond that scope, but is not worthy of the E.R., I would instead go to VIP Urgent Care on Fred Waring in Palm Desert (between Monterey and 111). They are also a very nice staff, but seem more competent (IMO), are more responsive, they listen, and at a previous visit I left with a diagnosis and was medicated properly in order to feel better (and I did). I should have just gone there in the first place. :( read more

I am not sure if it was just because we came an hour before their closing, but every associate, including the doctor ignored all specifications. The wonderful lady who checked us in, COMPLETELY disregarded my Fiancée's NEW member ID #. She didn't even make sure the numbers matched on his record from the paperwork he filled out. So she was trying to tell us there was a different amount for our copay, which actually ended up--we didn't have a copay at all! Then the doctor sends his prescriptions to a different pharmacy, when it was CONFIRMED to a whole different location. We drive 30 minutes to the pharmacy we verbally confirmed, just to find out it was sent somewhere else. read more

Have had to use this facility 3 times in the last 3 months, and no, I don't enjoy coming in. Each visit the wait has been an average of about 45 min., which considering they are usually busy is not bad. The time spent with the entire staff has been excellent. Everyone has been very professional and pleasant. Dr. Drew spent time listening to all of my "droning" and never once interrupted me. Good job all around. read more

I went there to get a second opinion. I'm pretty sure I have strep throat and got a false negative. The AMA, American Medical Association, prevents us from ordering the test kits you can find on Amazon. They work out to about $2 a test and a short trip across the border allows you to get it for almost free and you can buy the antibiotics yourself. But oh well, I'm here in America, so I decided to get tested a second time after weeks of being sick with what is probably strep throat. I walked in and asked how much. $197 was the answer. $197 for what costs $2 on Amazon. Which they would probably get wrong. I politely walked out. I'll research this a little more before seeing how difficult it is in our modern free world it is to simply visit Mexico for the afternoon and get the antibotics for almost nothing. I hate the AMA and their monopoly. No wonder the healthcase in the USA is now listed below all other "industrialized nations" and below many third world nations. read more

I just moved to the desert and I don't have a doctor. I don't really need one except in times like this. I did something awful to my leg the night prior to my appointment. I was in so much pain I could hardly walk. I managed to get an appointment in the morning(thank goodness it's very close to my house.)The girls at the front desk were friendly and efficient. I was seen in about 10 minutes. I had a wonderful nurse who took my vitals signs ,got my chief complaint and actually just made me feel better with his wonderful attitude. I saw the doctor very soon after. What a wonderful man. I was a paramedic for 20 years so I am very familiar with doctors obviously. He really listened to me and made sure he was very clear on what the problem was. He asked me questions ,I asked him questions- I never felt like I was bothering him or my issue wasn't that important. He gave me some treatment and prescriptions and off I went. The whole thing was less than an hour. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I will definitely be using them when and if I need a doctor. read more

Don't even know where to begin with the amazing performance and service of the staff. Always clean for starters, even when busy you always manage to get assistance faster than other hospitals in the surrounding areas. No doubt desert regional will remain our first place of preference for any medical needs. The pediatric staff was delightfully wonderful when they delivered my son in November 2015 and always answered questions while addressing concerns. During a more recent emergency room visit for our son we were promptly taken in before I could finish the paperwork. The service was extraordinary, other hospitals need to send their management to desert regional to take notes on many aspects. It's quite a drive for us but we will continue to commute for the quality of service that we receive. read more

Last week around noon I realized I had a very painful UTI. We had a crowd of people coming at 6. I decided to use this facility across the street from where we live part time hoping it wouldn't take forever to be treated. I was amazed. I was seen within 45 minutes. The physician was great. I was tested and given a prescption which they called into CVS. The medicine was waiting when I got there. The whole process took less than 2 hours. Two thumbs up. read more
