This is one of the best properties in Casa Grande. I have lived here since May 2019. Have there been issues? Yes. Is there any apartment complex that doesn't have issues? No. The amenities are wonderful (2 pools, workout room, grills around the property). Natalie in the office has been here for many years and she cares deeply about the property and it's residents. I am thrilled to be in Arizona and to live at Desert Sands! The office staff is wonderful and helped me to move into exactly what I wanted! In addition, the maintenance staff is phenomenal! They have gone above and beyond-bringing my groceries in and trash out (bad back). A wonderful place to live with very friendly and helpful people and staff! Thank you. I am wondering when children's playground will be shaded? I was told by the time I move in (6/8, today is 7/20.) how about something on metal handles at pool? We moved here in Dec from Ohio. My fiance found a job right away, it took me a month and half. We got behind on rent so we got a hold of Des. Des personally talked to office manager to tell her they are helping us. Next thing we know they locked us out, with my 5 year old. Be careful renting from them they don't care letting a 5 year sleep on the streets. They don't care when my 5 year old was getting calling the N word either, it's a shame that they are okay with throwing a 5 year old out on the streets, but racism is okay. read more

Please do not move here ! The gate constantly malfunctions to the point where it closed on my car the front office was very unhelpful stating they aren't responsible for the what the gate does. I then contacted insurance got another car after about a week later I wake up with a tow notice on my car saying move within 24hrs ! I go down to front office to solve the misunderstanding and was meet uncaring management stating that's not there problem and he knows nothing of the rules or maintenance responsibilities because he's only been here a month & they don't know how the notice ended up on my car I'm just looking for answers or some type of solution to fix this the employee proceeds to tell me how he only been here for a month and can not help me then states for me to leave & calls the police on me (3yr tenent) at this point I wait outside for police to come so issue will get solved the employee then comes outside states how he cancelled his police call. We step back in office and talk & co workers then Instructs him on how to fix the situation The pool never works to the point where the city had to come out and give the office fines for regulation , vending machines steal your money , there is a constant barrage of unpicked up dog poop everywhere you turn even in the walkway leading to apts ! There is no maintenance you'll be waiting three weeks for someone to fix regular household appliances like microwave handles or garbage disposal. Please do not move here ! Though they are a little bit pricey, I enjoyed living at this complex for a year. I had a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment with a private little patio with a washer and dryer. It was very spacious, like almost too much room. The kitchen was wonderful and all the extra space was so nice. The two pools were very conveniently located and they were always well maintained. They also had a deal going with a local pizza place where they would set up a pizza stand outside the office one day every month and you could get $5 pizza. It was very quiet and private. Sometimes the side exit gate wouldn't close but other than that it felt very safe. When my roommate and I even had any kind of issues, the office was very helpful and professional and the maintenance people would actually show up earlier than their specified times. First off, I want to say that the managment is horrible. It takes, nearly a month for them to inspect a work order, if they do, at all. We moved here, because of the environment, and the seclusion from the busy roads. Upon moving in, we were have things break, and needing repairs, up until we moved. The main thing, that pissed me off, is that we were having constant pipe breaks. The very last one that we had, was in the wall, in the bathroom. It took them, a month to get to it; meanwhile the wall is bubbling under the paint, and the carpets are damp. They never even finished the job, by the time we moved out. And they had the audacity to charge us to clean the mold that was caused by their failure to complete their job. We were tempted to take them to court, because my fiancé had been very sick, due to the mold. Cold sweats, stiff, sore muscles, very hard time breathing, and a bad cough; which all went away, of course, a few days of being in our new house, and out of the slummy apartments. I see much potential in this facility, if they just fired every single worker, and hired, all, new employees. Worst living experience I have ever had, and I lived in college dorms, before this. One other thing, that is worth mentioning, is that the gates are, almost, always broken; but when they do work, they WILL NOT open for motorcycles. I had two bikes parked there, and I had to wait for other cars to open the gate, in order to leave the apartments. I brought this up, in the office, and one of the office workers said, " just go out the side gate." I asked, "the sidewalk gate?" And she said yes. First of all, I shouldn't have to ride my motorcycle on the sidewalk, in order to leave the apartments; second, I don't even think that would be legal. The only good thing about these apartments is short term leases and dog friendly. Initially moved in and noticed a smell to the apartment. The office answers the phone 20% of the time. Entered work order tickets don't get addressed right away. And make sure you put your 60 day notice because they will add days to your lease. I called the office to advise them of our move at around 66 days and no one answered. Of course I called again 1.5 weeks later and they added 5 days to the lease because I did not inform them sooner. Even with my cell phones call log showing I had called before, they didn't take any responsibility for not answering the phones and said they could not back date it. Look elsewhere! Ok so it's been two weeks from my last post but this Apartment has some kinks that need to be addressed ASAP the tents in #151 are nothing but a joke he's a freeloader who isn't even on the lease but living here must be a felon lol and we've had to call the police on him twice and he's even cause criminal damage to our vehicle and have taken the police report to the office and we're told they were served a 10 day and that it's a "PROCESS" before they can evict the tenant's of that apartment....REALLY I am gonna be making a call to the main boss come Monday !!!!!!!! If i could give zero I would. It takes a lot for me to come on to a website and share an experience that I had because usually by the time I get home I have calmed down and decided it wasn't worth it. Like the time that my air conditioning broke here at Desert Sands in the middle of summer and it took 3 days for them to get to my apartment to fix it. or the time that I went to the hot tub and it was broken and after 2 months its still not fixed. I thought no, its not worth my time but this time it definitely is and you should be warned before EVER RENTING AT DESERT SANDS. I have paid on time and usually early for the past year that I have been here. A mix up at the bank and 8 day later I get an email informing me that I owe an extra 300 dollars to them because rent didn't come through. There was no warning. No questioning if I was aware, no warning of the charges they were charging me until today when they informed me of the 300 dollars extra. THERE IS ANOTHER COMPLEX IN CASA GRANDE WITH WASHERS AND DRYERS AND I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU GO TO THEM INSTEAD. There is not anything in this world that could make me sign another lease with this place. At first, we didn't seem to have an issue here. Now, we can't seem to even be able to park in our covered space that we pay for. Go to the office to complain multiple times and they gave us a paper to place on their car.. they never seem to give notice when they hold our packages at the front, this has happened where I tracked it online and went to the office to check on 7 packages. Gates are always broken. The reason I give them 1 star though is because I had a maintenance guy, that I never requested, knock on my apartment door and when I didn't answer because I was in the shower, he proceeded to use a key to unlock my door and come in. I ran out of the shower to check because it sounded as if someone was breaking the door down. He wouldn't leave and insisted that I had a cracked tub, so I let him look and he continued to tell me how I need to reprime the tub and he would get started. I had him leave since I was getting ready for work and told him to not come back because we don't need that service. He proceeded to tell me that I need to reschedule with the office. Turns out he was at the wrong apartment and when my husband left work to come check on me and make a complaint, the office said it's a mistake and didn't seem concerned that a man opened my door, without any notice to me naked and home alone. And to top it all off, we had to call multiple times asking about the return of our deposit. They had a signed contract with us that we would receive it NO LATER than 14 days after the end of our lease. Well we left over a month early and had a walk through with maintenance. He told us the apartment looked great and he saw no issues, but would have to check with their carpet guy before he could guarantee us that. I just had professional carpet cleaners come in and charge me $75. Desert sands was quick to send me a notice that they were charging me $250 to clean my carpets and $65 to repaint 1 wall in the bedroom. Keep in mind maintenance told us the only thing subject to change is the carpet. At this point I'm beyond over it and just want the rest of my deposit. Finally, we get a check dated 17 days after the end of our lease and I couldn't be more happy to be done with Desert Sands. read more

Unsatisfied tenant paying for this "Gated Complex" where all gates stand open 24/7 for months on end. Woke up this morning to the fridge making an awful sound, open the fridge & freezer...everything is warm. Immediately called management. Maintenance showed up to service the fridge 2 1/2 hours later. Over $100 in groceries spoiled & management will not take any type of responsibility for it. Management claims that insect repellent is sprayed weekly, I have had 3 black widow spiders and countless cockroaches on my balcony. Multiple types of beetles, spiders & earwigs inside my apartment. The air conditioning is so loud you cannot think or talk to anyone more than 5ft away from you. Multiple damages upon move-in that were noted & turned in to management & were never addressed: broken door hinges, holes in baseboards, broken screen door locks. Overall poor experience here at Desert Sands. Thankfully I only signed a 7 month lease & will be out soon. Renter's beware! read more
