It ended up being more expensive then originally quoted due to unforeseen damages. Price is very responsible given the labor involved. They cleaned up the area nicely before leaving and always asked before leaving items behind. They even got an electrician involved when needed to ensure the best quality. 10/10 would recommend them to anyone looking for a new roof/roof repair. 8 year warranties and yearly checks? Design Solutions may do an acceptable job of renovating a structure, but it does it at the cost of…read moresafety and goodwill. It sends sub-contractors who do not have proper safety equipment, such as ladders. These subcontractors set up ladders and then 'leap' on and off a roof at the risk of their well-being. These subs also regularly steal the electricity and water of contiguous residences. When that conduct is reported to Design Solutions, they like to say their subcontractors are only "borrowing" your electricity and water without ever explaining how it will be repaid. Design Solutions also does a very poor job of supervising its subs, who throw trash and other refuse onto adjoining property. It is done with such regularity that it suggests this is an ingrained custom and habit of this company. So, if work is being done close to your residence, mount your Ring cameras so you can rebut Design Solutions' customary denials that the quality of their supervision is sub-standard.

At several junctures of the project - beginning with my original idea to expand a small porch and later when we were working on details such as cabinetry and lighting - he offered suggestions that achieved my goals but were more cost-effective and better aesthetically. In addition to improving the functionality of the small porch, he designed and built a cover for a large irregularly shaped portal/patio that neither felt cozy nor provided any protection from the New Mexico sun. The finished result adds about 400 sq. feet of what feels like another room to the house. He also managed various updates to the interior that fulfilled the potential of its already excellent "bones." The house's previous owners had used him for a complicated drainage/foundation project, and he came to the real estate inspection on a Saturday afternoon just so that he could answer any questions I had and facilitate the sale for his clients. His crew and sub-contractors were top-notch: skilled, respectful of the property and beyond patient with my dogs.
