I remember visiting this place as a child with my parents, now I have the privilege of sharing in the same learning experience with my own kids! Despite the crowds, everything was fairly well organized considering the number of visitors. We enjoyed the short walk from the visitor center to Mather Point. The views are absolutely incredible and it's one of the best places to admire and photograph the Grand Canyon. The parking lot is huge, but signage indicated it definitely fills up during busy times. Thankfully, we arrived later in the day, so parking wasn't an issue for us. Overall, even with the crowds, it's a well-run visitor center and a great place to begin your Grand Canyon adventure.

It's clever to separate all the amenities so the buildings don't get flooded with people; rather it's all split out with a central outdoor area. Just a little far out are the stops for the shuttle system.

Just saying, you can save money for souvenirs or a special meal. You don't need to spend $50 for a couples of salads or burgers. The place was clean, to include the outdoor seating area. Plus the view beyond the parking lot is like you're in the middle of the forest.

There's quite a lot of information and signs with a model tent too. I thought that everything was well done, but it could have also maybe included more information about the native peoples that were displaced? Something to consider for the future. There's also a small gift shop area here with the same items found at the other main gift shop (although smaller selection just due to space constraints). It's right on the rim of the Grand Canyon and walking distance to the hotels and the Hopi House. Overall, cool attraction to check out if you want to duck indoors for a break.

I stayed at Bright Angle Lodge and grabbed a burrito and cup of coffee one morning. I enjoyed watching the sunrise while eating my breakfast. The South Rim wall is just a few step aways from the Fountain.
