    French dip
    Jessica G.

Like many, I ended up here for dinner during the off season. It was quite busy. By the time we were done there was actually a 5-10 minute wait for a table. This said, there were only two employees - a bartender and a server. The place is smallish so I think under normal circumstances it would be fine. The food came out quickly and was tasty. The music over the speakers gave the place a very relaxed vibe without being too loud to drown out conversation. I had the French dip. It was quite good. I wish the bread had been toasted a little more but overall good. I took away one star because once we got our food the service was almost non existent. They were trying to turn over tables but it took quite a while for us to get a check

FAST Review After a long day visiting the canyon, there aren't many restaurants outside the park that have very good ratings. We were staying at the Grand Canyon Plaza and the bar was open and serving food. Food: we got the French Dip & chicken sandwich. They filled a hole, but not the best. The onion rings were great. The chicken sandwich felt like it was a build your own, large lettuce leaves that needed to be trimmed, the butterflied chicken breast had to be cut and there was no sauce so we asked for mustard and mayo. Atmosphere: it's a bar, several high tops, 80's music in the background and 6 TVs. Chairs are lumpy. Service: it was not service with a smile, even checking into the hotel, but we sat quickly and got our food fairly fast. Tip: not many choices in this town.

Fun old timey restaurant. They have two dining areas and a gift shop. Lots of parking and clean restrooms. Our waitress was phenomenal and witty. The food was large portions and tasted wonderful.

Space at end of corner booth where the dogs could lay down

We chose this place because it sounded good, was opening soon, and said it had an outdoor patio that was dog-friendly. Upon arrival, there was a TINY patio space that was NOT set up for outdoor seating. We were the second customers to arrive after opening and asked if we could bring our well-mannered mini aussie's inside. The manager was extremely hesitant but DID allow us to bring our two 3-yr old dogs inside, seating us in the back corner booth which has a partial wall at the end for the pups to lay by. Our server even brought them a huge bowl of water, which we were grateful for. Our group of 7, sitting at two tables, received our food quickly. It was standard style food, which was cooked well and met expectations; no one had any issues with their meals. We ordered the jalapeño & hatch chile poppers for appetizers; the deluxe burger, patty melt, beef tacos (app), and French dip sandwich with au jus; the kids ate grilled cheese and spaghetti. Our drinks were brought to us in beer mugs (tea and soda). The prickly pear margarita's were also delicious and well-made. Items of note: 1) none of our non-alcoholic drinks were refilled, despite having a couple empty glasses. 2) The iced tea drinkers also noted that the tea tasted like coffee pot tea, as in it had a distinct coffee pot taste from likely being made in the old coffee pot. It wasn't bad, but tasted funny until we realized it tasted like our deployment coffee pot teas back in the day. Both sweet and unsweet teas tasted like this. 3) The bill price increased in total when I paid with credit card, stating $168 when I received the check and then showing $180+ before tip on the receipt once the card was swiped. I was rushing and didn't realize this when we left as I tipped in cash, but couldn't find anything on the bill slip stating any surcharges were charged for our party size or anything so I don't know the reason for the upcharge. All in all, it was a great experience with cute decor and atmosphere, very likely to dine again, but caution on the bill when paying by card.

We were looking for a restaurant with a tv to watch to football game and found this place. We had the sampler basket. Amazing. My fiancé had the prime rib sandwich and I had the prime rib dinner. The food was absolutely amazing and the service exceptional. Their prices are as were they should be and their happy hour is even better! We will be back for sure. We even got to see some free roaming elk behind the restaurant

A perfect drink of coffee, Kahlúa and whiskey I love it

So this place is great is real close to the entrance of the Grand Canyon resort the restaurant is beautiful. The music is awesome and the full bar. The food is also really good. How do you recommend displays come and stay enjoy the rain and come night and enjoy a good dinner and a good drink

It was not my idea to come here my sweet niece was the one who wanted steak and well who am I to tell her no?! We walked into the steakhouse side only to stand there another couple walked in and we were all quickly ushered out by a host, to go sit in the bar area... the host then tried to seat the couple who came in after first which wouldn't have been a huge deal if I didn't have a kid who was starving. Thankfully the other party told him we had been waiting. We were sat at a high top in the bar, and waited.. the bar tender came around and let us know she'd be our waitress, the main waitress was very busy. There was also a man who worked there that kept walking by looking at us. Not sure if we weren't fancy enough or he thought we were going to eat and run or what.. to be fair we were in jeans and a sweatshirt and had just come from the canyon.. I will say the reason we stayed (besides being hungry) was our waitress. She made us feel welcome, and despite being busy checked in regularly. I asked about the filet she said it was truly really good... and my niece got the steak tips. We both enjoyed the dinner... the filet was tender, cooked to a perfect medium... could have used a little more seasoning but still good. The baked potatoes had everything to stuff it with on the side... and the asparagus was delicious and cooked perfectly. Do I think it was 56 good mehhhh but it was still tasty. I had to taste the steak bites and that was delicious too! Fries however were over cooked. Like I said, the bar tender/ waitress came back and checked on us several times - she was great which is why this is a 4 star review not a 3 star. Her kindness is why I am overlooking the other issues we had.

You walk in and order at the counter, and they bring the food out to you. We ordered the GCT Nachos ($19.49), along with a Prickly Pear Draftarita ($12) and a Yavapai Blonde ($8.99). The prickly pear drink was okay, but it was a bit too sweet for my liking. The nachos were good, and the portion size definitely made them worth sharing. Overall it's a neat little casual bar.

Basically an upscale fast food place and food just a tiny step above. Also weird upon delivery of food we got one fork, no napkins, no condiments. Set your expectations. $80 for a burger, tacos from the appetizer menu, 1 can of beer (no glass offered) and a glass of "large sized wine - which was a typical pour). Just know this isn't a fine dining it's a place when you're hungry after a big hike and anything will suffice. The big fireplace and water stream make it feel so cozy. As we usually do, we saddled up at the bar. Service was okay; bartender seemed tired and wasn't overly friendly. He was fairly attentive though which was nice. We each ordered 2 pints of beer; Sacred Saguaro Mexican Lager, Haute Lager, Beach Camp Honey Kolsch, and the Prickly Pear IPA. If you're a craft beer enthusiast like my husband and I, you'll find their beers to be about average quality, but still hits the spot after a long day outside. For dinner, I ordered the Caprese Chicken Sandwich ($15) which was quite good with a large piece of grilled chicken and a soft bun; I'd order this again! My husband had the Beast Brat ($15) and thoroughly enjoyed it. We then ordered a basket of tater tots to share ($5) and it was a huge portion; we almost needed a 3rd person to help haha. We then ordered dessert to go - Sweet Fry Bread ($10) which curbed our sweet craving when we got back to the hotel. Overall, everything we ate was honestly very good; however, I will say for the price, the sandwiches and brats should automatically come with a side of fries or tots. For a la carte handhelds, I feel the price should have been $12 each. The sweet fry bread was also a very small portion for the price which also left us feeling a price point of $6 would've been more appropriate. Despite our small issue with the price point and so-so service, we'll be back. Can't go to Grand Canyon NP without stopping into Grand Canyon Brewing for an ice cold beer and maybe some food too.

The space still has that nice rustic charm with plenty of seating inside and outside on their nice patio. Ordering, however, has changed. Beers, cocktails, nonalcoholic beverages, cans to-go, and food is all ordered up at the bar. There was 1 lone employee working the bar; taking orders, pouring beers, mixing cocktails, and closing people out at the register. This was so incredibly inefficient, particularly on such a busy day. I stood in line 3 separate times (once to initially order two pints, a second time to order a flight of other beers we wanted to taste, and a final time to purchase two cans to-go and close out my tab); each time in line took between 15-25 minutes. The girl behind the bar was very friendly and she was working as quickly as possible while maintaining a relatively happy attitude, but boy did I feel bad for her. Management really messed this up; someone needed to step in and help. With such a big celebration in town that day, there needed to be a minimum of 3 employees manning the bar to take orders and get drinks. As for the beer itself, as usual it's just average. Great if you're looking for something cold to enjoy, but not memorable if you're a craft beer nerd. We went in knowing what the quality would be, but still wanted to try all the new beers since we hadn't been in a couple of years. We didn't eat while there, but in the past when we have, the food is good. The knock of two stars was simply for the horrible management of orders. I don't know when they decided to get rid of waiters and put all the pressure onto the bartender, but geez what an awful decision that was.
