Desi galaxy has a few stations inside offering various items. Our last visit was to get some savory snacks/chaats. Bhel puri. 5/5. Was very good and flavorful. The presentation was excellent. Vibrant, colorful. Chaat Papri 4/5. Also very good and tasty. Beautiful presentation, flavorful and savory. Dahi papri chaat. 3/5. This one was ok. Didn't care for it too much. It was some ingredient that I didn't like. There are plenty of items on the menu. And I see myself coming back for more items.

Conveniently located in heart of oak tree road . Not much of advertisement from outside but this is inside desi galaxy shop. There is a small banner outside but people never notice it . They have hot bufffet type ready made food once u enter . Taste is good for some dishes and average for others. Chicken curry is really good . Naan with chick or mutton curry is awesome . I don't prefer their biryani or some of the veggie items . I think there are so much of options for biryani around ... price point of view it is good. Not that expensive , especially compared with other restaurants who charge crazy .. Service is good . There is always someone in the front counter . There is a pan shop and fast food and juice shop too inside . Overall a mixed experience . It's good sometimes when you are in no mood to eat anywhere else :)

Stopped by on a weekday evening to pick up chaat. The place offers a wide variety of chaat options along with other Indian street food options and drinks. We picked up lots of snacks and appetizers. The raj kachori chaat was very tasty, but a little too sweet for my liking. Vada pav was great with garlic chutney. The puffs were a let down, had a weird greasy after taste. Also like other chaat items anything with sauces and yogurt is going to get soggy for take out, so heads up in case you are doing take out. Might want to ask for the sauces on the side. Overall decent experience for the price and lot of variety, flavors and quality can be improved though

Usually is a must visit on my trip to NJ. This time my GPS took me to Desi Galaxy express, which I never knew existed and thought this location moved there. However, on my way back home....I saw this open and had to make my stop. This place has a lot of variety Indian tood you can try. The food comes in a good portion for the price you pay with a good taste. This visit I only got a paan as I was stuffed from restaurant hopping. They sell the cheapest pasn at $1.50. We tried at least 4 spots for pasn this weekend and hands down, this was the best value for your money My visits here are routine so make sure you stop by and try it if you are in the area. If you are a local, enjoy and not sure why you would be cooking home.

Desi galaxy is a food court and all of the food is terrific. We hadn't been here in a number of years but used to go quick often. This time we had the live pani puri. I liked that they had a selection of pani flavors like mango, katha meeta , pudina and others. The katha meeta (sour sweet) was the best and others were just ok. The puri didn't taste too fresh and the pani was tasty but really cold. I can't say this was a great experience. We also had papdi chat from another stall that was as great as usual. The best was the gobi paratha! Made to order, hot, spicy gobi inside a crisp paratha. (Still dreaming about it) We also shared a cup of elaichi tea. It was too milky for me but still hit the spot on a cold day. Service is efficient and there are a small number of tables.

If you love Indian street food then you are at right place .. I always bring my friends and family here who are visiting me and they love the food . Difficult to beat variety of food you can get here .. I am a vegetarian and they have so many options.. My kids love paneer tikka kathi role and my wife's favorite are Paneer Pakoda.. For me, I luv every dish here.. So, if you are missing India and wan authentic Indian street food then this is the place !!! Highly Recommend!!

Stopped here on our way to the airport. Pretty neat spot! We are from SF Bay Area and quite familiar with Indian joints, but this is at a whole different level! Small stand alone food court with a variety of stalls - dosa, chaat, info Chinese, fresh fruit juice and paan! The chaat was ok, not great. But the rose flavored fresh smoothie that we had was utterly delicious! Saw a sign by the water cups that said the cups were meant for in house use only....I chuckled as it was so reminiscent of India:)

There are about 6-7 various vendors in his location, showcasing cuisines from different parts of India. I've tried all the stalls at least once and some of it is good and some, well not so good. I think if you temper your expectations and think of it as a place for something quick and fast you'll be ok. Punjabi Express is one of the main stalls, on a recent visit I've tried the Mutton Biryani and Chicken Tikka Marsala. The Mutton Biryani was good and spiced well. It was not too spicy hot and not very oily either. The mutton was also very tender and not too fatty. I recommend this dish. The Chicken Tikka Marsala was made with white meat chicken and quite frankly forgettable. The meat was very dry and the gravy was bland. Usually the chicken in this dish is prepared separately from the gravy, and thus it generally lacks flavor that is present in the gravy. The parathas were delicious with the cauliflower beating the cottage cheese of the versions I've tried. The pani puri near the rear restaurant is unique although it's not really something I crave. You decide on the fillings for the Pani Puri, they are then served to you on the spot and you put them down right away. The experience is kinda cool. The Desi Dhaba Chicken Lollipop is not great. It was not fried properly, the breading was not set, and not crunchy. The spice level was nice so it was a shame it was not fried properly. Also have tried the sugar cane juice with ginger at Bombay Spice. It was delicious although it would have been even better if it was a bit more cooler. I did say I didn't want too much ice in it so maybe it was my bad to say not too much ice. I would recommend this drink. I've tried the Chole Baterri and Samosas on other occasions and they are ok. The sit in tables here generally seem like they are not cleaned between customers or not at all throughout the day which is kinda annoying. Overall there are some high points and some low but late in the evening it is definitely an option to consider.

Only part that was open when I went today around 4 was "Bombay Spice". I ordered 2 pc veg samosa, pani puri, bhel, and paneer pakoda. I received my order pretty quickly and was extremely happy to see staff and patrons wearing gloves & masks. Unfortunately I wasn't very enthused with the food. The samosas were okay. The pani puri was okay, and the bhel puri was below okay. The pani puri came with approx 8 puri but the filling provided was enough for maybe 3-4, and was also not the best. It was all very mediocre, not what I expected in Edison for Indian street food. What I did like was the pani for the pani puri. It was pretty refreshing and not strong. The paneer pakoda were pretty good, so no complaints there. They food was served with plenty of chutneys. There was the typical coriander chutney, but also a reddish sweet chutney. I think it must be tamarind but it was different than I've ever had. That sweet chutney was amazing! The prices are also very reasonable, so although I was kind of "eh" about the food, I wasn't really upset.

This is a pretty good food court with a variety of Indian food and fruit drinks. There is ample parking in a parking lot located in between streets. I tried Punjabi express. The naan is delicious. You get a good variety of foods. I just wish there was more chicken; I only got 4 pieces of chicken with my meal. Otherwise, good Indian food.

This a mini food court with about 6 different food stores inside. It's not the prettiest and the bathroom is not very clean but at least there is a variety of snacks and food. I ordered basket chaat and chole bhature from one spot. Chole was so-so. A little watery and the flavor wasn't quite to my liking but it wasn't bad. Portion was fine for $8 (one bowl chole and 2 dahi puri). The baskey chaat was really great. Its not the same as tokri chaat! Basket chaat bowl is made from potato shreds and it was tasty to eat. They also put little home fries on top which I loved. Considering how much potato, I wish the chaat itself had less potato but it was overall very tasty. $8 though which is a lot for a chaat but I guess that's because of the basket

Food: Food is great, always tasty and my family is a regular customer at the place. Price: Maybe it's my innate cheapness but I feel like they've been serving less and less over the past few years for the same price they've always charged (sometimes - very rarely - I've noticed that dishes have gone up a dollar but the amount is still the same). I guess they have to do it because of the economy and also because they've had to recently renovate the place after a fire but my heart still hurts to pay $6 for a small place of something that is essentially fried dough covered in more fried dough and household spices. And pretty sure they're not paying over minimum wage to all the kitchen workers in the back. But i guess that's the situation for most places you go, Indian or not. read more

There are five different food court style restaurants in this place. Each one actually should be rated differently. After you go there a few times, you can figure out which ones are the better ones. The people who have gone here only once probably are the ones which give the poor ratings. The bhel puri, pau bahji, sabudana khichadi are wonderful. I did not have a good experience with the dosas. The Indian Chai is also very good here. This place is cheap, so I eat here first, then I also do take out. Seating is usually a problem, so it is not good for large groups. read more

Multiple food sellers in a sort of food court. Each seller has some similar foods, but each with their own specialty. CASH ONLY! Good selection. Good food. Mostly veg, but some chicken. At least one seller had options with no onion, no garlic if requested. read more

This restaurant is cheap and the service is horrible. We went expecting to get a good meal and come out satisfied, but what we got was the wrong order and horrible staff service when asked for the correct order. I ordered the "amul cheese sandwich" but instead I got the simple "Bombay sandwich." So like any other customer, we went back with the Bombay sandwich and told the cashier that this is the wrong order. As a normal customer would, we expected these people to give us a new and correct order. But what we got back was "cheese" added to this Bombay sandwich. How cheap could the people get? In another store, we get a new order if the previous one is wrong. It is the restaurants' fault that they gave us the wrong order. So we went back and told them this isn't right. I mean first you give me the wrong sandwich and on top of that, you aren't even making it properly. I'm pretty sure Bombay sandwich and Amul cheeseburger has some difference. If I wanted a cheese Bombay sandwich I would have asked for that. So, when we went back up front to tell them this isn't right, the cashier called the manager and the manager came out and started to fight for no reason. She spoke with foul language. She made an issue for no reason. She spoke like, "I will hit you with my sandals." And many more foul sentences. All we wanted was our sandwich. We are customers here, customers are not to be treated like this. This is horrible customer service on their part. After this nightmare, we decided that going to this joke of a restaurant was a huge mistake. Horrible experience. Worst INDIAN RESTAURANT in USA NJ EDISON!! Today, I had a very appalling experience at Desi Galaxy. My father-in-law is visiting from out of town and he was craving for masala tea. While we were in Edison, NJ, I took him to Desi Galaxy to try their tea. The guy who served us the tea kept on boasting how popular it is and they sell so much of it every day. Nevertheless, he served the scathing hot tea in a disposable cup which was without a sleeve. Naturally, I asked for a sleeve to which I was told by the same guy that they don't have sleeves. I desperately asked for an extra disposable cup to use as a sleeve. In a very rude manner, he said they don't give out extra cups. Instead, he pointed me to use one of the foam cups with complete disregard. The foam cup was much smaller and would not fit the disposable tea cup. I explained it to him that I am taking out the tea while I drive and I cannot risk of hot tea spilling without proper hold. He kept on insisting that the business does not give out extra cups and failed at understanding the risk he was asking me to take. I had to raise my concern and voice about how this was an utter dis-service to the customer, asking them to use hot tea cups, as is, without proper protection. In response, a girl who was at the counter (and identified her as the business owner) came in and started taking sides of the guy who served tea and said she cannot "tolerate" me raising concerns for being served hot tea without sleeve. She said that I can take the cup holder, which, the earlier guy miserably missed at pointing to before. The (owner) girl kept on saying that "it doesn't matter" to her how her employees behave to the customer and "it doesn't matter" how this reflects on her poor customer service and safety. I asked if it matters to her if the hot tea spills and causes any injury to her customer, to which, she again said "it doesn't matter". It was an abysmal customer service to the least and they showed zero lack of ownership for their bad service and customer's safety. My father-in-law and I came out of the shop in complete shock over this horrendous experience and could not fathom how a business like theirs could care least for customer's safety. As a result of this ordeal, I will not recommend this place to anyone and strongly recommend against going to this business. read more

Avoid this place at any cost! The customer service is some of the the worst I have ever experienced at any establishment. Came here with my family for a large take-out order. When we arrived home we realized a number of items were missing. My Aunt called Desi Galaxy to let them know they had forgot to include several items (vegetarian pulao, aloo parantha, gobi parantha, and raita). She asked to speak with the manager and the man on the phone informed her he was the owner. She asked to be refunded for the missing items, to which he absolutely refused. She asked him to bring us the food and he still refused. He was utterly nasty and screaming at us over the phone. He was saying things to us that I have never EVER heard any human being say to a customer before. Absolutely disgusting foul language. We remained calm and asked him repeatedly to correct a problem his restaurant made, but he was completely unwilling to make ANY effort to correct their mistake. This is by far the WORST customer service I have ever received anywhere. Needless to say, I will NEVER EVER return to this sorry excuse for a restaurant. read more

this place is great for takeout food, the prices are reasonable compared to some of the other food places on oak tree road, the samosa filling is always fresh and they use clean oil. great to have all the different stalls with different types of food. my fave. is the chaat delight stall and the punjabi food stall, they have enough parking, but it fills up FAST on weekends. never park in the handicapped parking spot if you dont have a sticker, you WILL get a ticket because the police hides and watches and then gives you a ticket. be patient and find a safe spot to park. the service is ok. the food is good. cleanliness is ok. good for a quick snack or lunch to go. read more

If you are looking for fresh paan, go see Bhaarat bhai at Desi Galaxy on Oak Tree road. His paan stall is inside Desi Galaxy. He will make it the way you want it. His personal touch with careful balance of ingredients makes his paans just melt in your mouth with explosions of exotic flavors. Your trip to Oak Tree street is not complete unless you get your favorite paan from Bhaarat bhai. He is always there to treat you with a great smile. read more

Pathetic service and rude staff. I am not sure from where you people get the staff member here, but surely not worth a penny.... With my first and last experience with ur restaurant, i will make sure that not even me but also i would refrain my friends to visit this place.... On first point the food was horrible. I am not sure why you ppl says its authentic food. But on the off chances i can manage to go with the bad taste food. But when you insult your customers that clearly shows your mindset. Let me remind you one thing which you have clearly forgotten, Customer can have the different opinion about your food but that will not give you any right to insult them in public. Trust me i don't need you confirmation that if i have every tasted the same food earlier or not or from where i am coming from? Hope you understand this seriousness of the situation here. Worst food ever don't even try food specially Chinese and other stuff. No salt in the food, they should trained all the employee how to make food. There is only one Mexican guy who makes Indian chinese food the best. Others make food that doesn't have any taste in it. It took them 45 mins to prepare a one dish. read more

Food is good but go there only when you have lots of time in hand. Waiting time is 30 minutes minimum. It's self service but there is so much crowd that you have to be patient before you can get food. We had pav bhaji, dal bati, sabji puri and vada pav here. Everything tasted good and real authentic Indian. No complaints on taste! read more

Chaska chat -Desi Delight Horrible and worst ever restuarant for snacks and am sure for all types of food they sell.Trust me they sell spoiled food and when asked they would reply super rude.When you complain about the food that it is spoiled they would not be surprised and inctead they would reply you in such a way as if you are asking them to pay you back.They are just DISGUSTING AND please dont go there if you want to eat soemthing nice.Worst ambience and they asked if we realised the taste only after eating half of the food?? Does that mean that we should have relaised in the first bite and throw the food on their face?? God..Incredbile lady there.. read more

My previous review has gotten deleted. Quality sweets chaska chat are no longer inside Desi galaxy. All of the original vendors are no longer there. Quality sweets and chaska chat has moved to the 1384 oak tree road in the same parking lot. Don't be fooled by the vendors inside Desi galaxy they will never tell you where the original vendor have gone! read more

A restaurant is a place where we all wanna go sit and enjoy a meal. I used to go to other place to eat at but it wasn't this good as Desi Galaxy. I have been to Desi Galaxy couple of times and my taste buds just can't get better. I love going to Desi galaxy knowing that they provide all type of options and variety of foods for you to choose. The place is nicely organized for you to sit with your family which seems very welcoming. My food cravings increase each day only because the food there is very fresh and tasty. I always get the chaat actually all types of chaat even if its to go or to eat in its still nicely given and packed for you. I have gotten the juice and its is made in front of you and freshly made. The juice is very tasty then the other places I have been to. This is just the perfect place and restaurant to fulfill your cravings. This isn't like any other place on Oaktree Road to eat at, instead I feel it's one of the best place to eat at. This place is known for its sugar cane juice too because its completely delicious. you may think that this place is pricey but in reality its not, the quality of the food is wonderful and a delight place according to the price. Overall this is the best Indian restaurant to my opinion and a wonderful place to eat at. I'll always prefer going to Desi galaxy:))) read more

The tomato onion based curry lacked salt and spice and the actual soya pieces were too soft and mushy in texture. Wish these were a bit more dense as experienced in other restaurants. Roomali Roti- drown in ghee and it must have sat over a gas flame because it tasted of bad chemicals. Basically like eating the ghee-soaked cotton swabs from the candles at the local temple. Kathiyawadi Thali- the wife's dish- she enjoyed two if the items but this was not a great experience either. I was disappointed in the vast difference in quality between two visits. Service, however was great as servers were attentive and quick.

As much as the food was tasty I found them bit salty and the subzi little oily - this coming from a salt lover who tends to add salt to anything he eats, you can trust me. Overall a good restaurant serving quality food and with ample parking space (weekend parking story could be little different).

Many guests were turned away because of the inaccurate closing time listed online. I recommend calling ahead to confirm before visiting.

Today, Saoji is considered the signature cuisine of Nagpur: intensely spiced, unapologetically hot, and built around powerful, roasted masalas. Tonight we ate at Nagpuri Saoji in Voorhees (they also have a location in Iselin), and these two spots are reportedly the only places in the U.S. where you can experience this cuisine in its full, blazing glory. To Start We began with sabudana vada -- the classic Maharashtrian fritter made from tapioca pearls, mashed potatoes, peanuts, and spices. Served piping hot and impossibly crisp outside with a tender interior, they came with two chutneys and were absolutely sublime. Alongside that was goat sukka, a dry-style mutton preparation associated with the Mangalore and Udupi regions, with spice influences tracing back to Goa and even Arab and Turkish traders. Coriander, fennel, cumin, black peppercorns, and fenugreek give it depth and warmth. It was bold, savory, and incredibly flavorful. The Curries I ordered chicken kala masala curry, and it was deeply earthy, nutty, and robustly savory. "Kala" means "black" in Marathi -- referring both to the color and to the roasted spice blend itself. Cumin, coriander, cloves, cinnamon, stone flower, coconut, sesame seeds, and chillies are roasted and ground into a dark, complex masala that lingers beautifully on the palate. We also ordered Goat Handi, with tender meat in a velvety, aromatic gravy, and a Malwani goat curry, made with Malvani masala from the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra -- a spice blend that balances heat with coastal warmth and depth. Rice, plain naan, and indulgent Amul cheese naan rounded out the meal. Dessert We finished with Sitafal Rasmalai (custard apple-infused rasmalai) and Jamun Rabdi -- both creamy, fragrant, and perfect against the lingering spice. A Few Notes Like much traditional Asian cooking, the meat dishes are cooked on the bone -- so eat mindfully. And if you request "hot," they mean hot. This is not toned-down spice; this is the real deal. I was thrilled to try dishes from India that I've never made before. Same tarri was present in the misaal too, so this dish was ruined too. Sol kadhi was average. The service was fast and the ambience is okay-ish. Honestly, would not recommend this place for their vegetarian options!

Someone called the manager and servers started to catch the rat. I wish I had taken the picture but honestly i was taken over by surprise to see such gross negligence by the owner and hope appropriate action is taken the authority to address this.

Big fan of their panipuri, dabeli, cut-mirchi, vadapav and katiroll. Excellent Katri rolls. On top of that what i like the most is their customer service. I have been impressed with their commitment to hygiene during COVID and everyone wearing masks and also for curbside pick up they bring food to your car in their parking lot. In addition to above they have easy to use ordering website. I highly recommend Desi Galaxy for their service and commitment to quality food. read more

The guy at TEA & JUICE PLACE is horrible!! He makes tea at 8 am and sell the same till 10 pm, i.e. for 14 hrs?? u can NOT get fresh tea!! The owner makes ice cream at home in disgusting environment and sell milkshakes of those for months. It's better to go to other places like, Jassi or Rajbhog for fresh made Tea and bombay talk for fresh Milkshakes. And most important, we have to get health department to this place for being so unhygienic. Please pass the message. read more

This is a nice place where you can get up to 6 different types of Indian food under one roof. They probably could improve their sitting and cleanliness of bath rooms; and also proper heating during winter. Really great prices and mouthwatering food prepared in front of you.
