I am an existing client. My garage door, coil, broke on Tuesday. I called them on Tuesday. They said they would get back to me. I said tomorrow is fine. Wednesday came and went. I called on Thursday evening, explained the situation again. They told me they would put the call in as urgent and get back to me right away. I said tomorrow is fine no worries tomorrow came. It's now 4:30 in the evening and I still have not received a phone call since Tuesday. If this is how they treat their existing customers, I wish you all you need customers. Good luck. read more

Several weeks ago, technician Michael came to replace the spring system. Did a GREAT job, including repositioning side and central hinges for optimal functioning. Cost for everything was over $650 (!). However, a few days ago, the door started rattling and grinding. Technician Radhemes came and found that simply spraying WD-40 on the center door hinges fixed the problem. Quiet door opening/closing now. Again, GREAT job - and such nice gentlemen, these two. The technicians deserve 5 stars. HOWEVER: 1) DGD's phone system ("mailbox full, goodbye") is AGGRAVATING. Sometimes you'll get called back within an hour, or, as when I called Friday AM, no one called back until Monday. 2) Each time you get service, the technician "suggests" you consider having an upgraded door system installed. No matter how nicely put, I RECOGNIZE A HARD-SELL A MILE AWAY. TO SUM UP: Once you're called back, EXCELLENT technicians can come THAT DAY. However, it seems DGD's material costs are excessive. Combined with the aforementioned concerns, I am not sure I would have DGD as my future garage-door service provider(unless of course, these concerns are addressed). read more

Thought we called Warren Overhead Door, who I had used for over 10 years. Had no idea this company was bought out and the new company was over an hour away. Tech was excellent. However the price increase of nearly 350% was excessive. Be sure you get a quote beforehand. read more

I would strongly suggest to KEEP LOOKING!! I called Wilson Garage Doors, which I was familiar with. I needed to replace a broken spiring and cable on one garage door. It turns out that Wilson was bought out. I am on eastern Long Island and this company is from NJ. They kept a local phone # which was part of the deception. After waiting for an hour and a half after their window of arrival time, the tech proceeded to take apart the pulleys and remaining cable, he informed me he needed to go to his warehouse in Riverhead to get the correct springs. TOTAL BS as they don't have a warehouse, unless its Home Depot or Lowes. After he returned, over an hour later, he now stated that I need to also pay over $200 additional for new cables that he forgot to charge me for. Total bill was over $1700.00. After several calls to the owner, I was sent a $200 refund. My fault for assuming this was the original company. The owner insisted that all his techs were local, which was a lie as he was from Paramus, NJ, 90 miles away. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. 0 stars. read more

Called them at 230pm and they came to my house an hour later . They gave me an ok price on a new motor for my garage door. It didn't give 5 stars because of the price . The technician Mike was very good . He was very nice and knew what he was doing. read more

On 3/21/2022 my garage door springs broke and i reached out to DESIGN GARAGE DOORS. They came Down and charged $130 for service call. After the work was completed i was going to pay with my capital one credit card and the worker stated that his boss, (owner) charges a 3% service fee and that he preferred cash or check... i found it extremely odd that in 2022 a company would do this... my issue is that even smaller mom and pop shops don't do this... i spent $600+ on this work... i believe this company might be involved in unethical practices... this 3% fee also wasn't included on the invoice also.. read more

One of my garage doors was broken and was left open in the middle of the snow storm last week (2/2014). I tried to call the garage door company that I used before, but they never sent anyone to fix the door. When I asked about installing new doors I was told it would take 2 weeks until they could come over. I then called Design Garage Doors. Joe sent someone to see the damaged door in the middle of the storm. Instead of fixing the door I decided to replace both doors, as they were old. The installers came back within 2 days and installed the doors and did a perfect job. It was also a pleasure to work with Joe who was polite, informative, and provided excellent service. read more

Surprised that this establishment has received positive reviews since I was completely let down by them. It is possible that the technician who was sent to fix my door is new to this establishment. In any case, this guy "repaired" my door and charged me a hefty amount but it topped working again in just 2 days. I was ripped off by this guy! Julio was quick and efficient and kept in touch regarding rescheduling after he had car trouble during our original appointment. Joe the sales person was punctual but that was that only good thing I can say. I decided to use Design Garage Doors, and email the signed proposal to Joe I never heard back from him. I was told the garage door would arrive in 2 to 2 1/2 weeks .
