This designer is lovely to work with and very responsive EXCEPT FOR ...... I grappled with whether to take off another star because I was very upset that a different container was used than what we agreed (including sending her a picture of the very specific base I wanted). I deferred wriitng this review to be clear-eyed in sharing with Yelpers my feedback on her work. Unfortunately, this project was not in the immediate Bay Area and it wouldn't have been cost-effective to use a SF-based florist for such a small job. Based on a local recommendation and the limited planning time, we simply went with this florist. In addition to selecting the specific vase, I also gave her pictures (and descriptions) of the flowers and color-hues we wanted, followed by a few conversations to ensure there was no ambiguities. Imagine my surprise when I showed up and saw different (and less than full) arrangements. I was disappointed (very), but decided there was nothing I could do at that point and didn't think it was professional to make a scene. Perhaps it did not occur to tell clients you are making changes in their order ? I could not tell if she had selective hearing or felt she knows best re: a Client's preference. (BTW: In a 2014 post, I read a similar complaint.) Although in subsequent comments it doesn't seem to come up. [I am not a "clueless" client as I am a designer that has worked with some of the best florists in the SF Bay Area.] Thus, Be aware that his designer may make changes and not consult with you. If it does not matter, then this review may not be relevant. But if you do care that your vision and input is being followed, please put in writing the agreed upon terms. Although I did get the order in writing and therefore, I suggest adding a line that states: THE ORDER CAN'T BE CHANGED WITHOUT CLIENT'S DIRECT AND PRIOR APPROVAL. In closing, I will give her a pass on the flowers used, as sometimes the seasonality can affect one's choice. However, her decision to use a different vase than what was agreed upon and shown in pictures, (with dimensions and size), did not work for me. (Note: The vase she used also didn't fit the decor which made me even more irritated. ) OVerall, it was a miss for me with this florist. Jajuan is a very talented florist! When I first met Jajuan for a floral consult for my wedding, she took the time and helped me put together the style I envisioned. Not once did she mention a contract during the first portion of our meeting which made me feel at ease. She made me feel very comfortable and confident that she would do an amazing job. During the last 3 weeks prior to the wedding, I was in a bit of a predicament regarding the cake decoration. Despite all the work Jajuan had regarding the floral arrangements, she jumped in and said she would decorate the cake, and for me to not worry about it. She definitely took a load off of my shoulders!! On my wedding day, I was speechless. From my bouquet, the bridesmaids' bouquets, the boutonnieres/corsages, to the ceremony and reception floral arrangements... Jajuan exceeded my expectations. Jajuan made our wedding a dream come true with all the arrangements! It all looked better than I could ever imagined. She really had a vision and I trusted her with her vision. She even followed our wedding planning for 2 years because we had to postpone due to COVID. I would say her prices were very affordable and worth it! Better and more beautiful than expected. Jajuan was awesome to work with as our florist. She is an amazing artistic floral designer! I gave her our colors, Red, Orange, Pink, and Yellow with a Turquoise / Blue accent and asked her to be creative :o) Jajuan was recommended by our wedding planner (Pheiffer Event Planning) and we couldn't be happier. She did everything better than we expected and really made our wedding beautiful. I (bride) especially loved working with Jajaun, who is creative and kind and really willing to go above and beyond. My favorite arrangements that she did were my bridal bouquet (which included all my colors and my favorite flower, gardenias), and the Thai Water Ceremony arrangements in the bowls...which were amazing. The colors the texture, the added monkey tails really made it gorgeous. My family and friends loved all of the flowers and said they were very impressed. My husband (Mosheem) picked you as our bridal bouquet florist and I can say with confidence that we were both very happy with your work. The bouquet was beautiful. Design with Florae is an awesome florist company. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a beautiful bouquet or floral wedding arrangements. The bouquet was tightly wrapped in an elegant white material with rhinestone pins to accent the bouquet. It also came in a vase which is great for when you go out to dinner afterwards. Although I did not choose to work with Design with Florae- I still want to leave a review because of Jajuan's professionalism. She got back to me within a few hours of leaving her a message on her voicemail to discuss what I wanted for my wedding and worked up a quote as well as a vision board in which she sends you designs of what she can do for you in terms of decor and flowers. And even though I did not choose to work with her, she was super sweet and told me that my wedding day would look great anyways! We had soany bumps in the road picking a florist but she accommodated all of my needs and didn't break our bank. AND YOU COULDN'T EVEN TELL. Jajuan is an amazing artist. She knows how to put together a beautiful bouquet. I sent her a photo of the dress and she matched it with the bouquet perfectly (photos will be posted on here soon). She was very laid back and easy going but also, she has a very hectic schedule. I had to meet her at a job site where she was decorating an event but since I'm a flexible person, it did not bother me one bit. She will ask you upfront what your price range is and she will conform to it and not pressure you to spend more. I compared her prices to other places and she was more than $100 cheaper. I like the fact that she responds to her emails in a timely manner and she always answers her phone as well. I found her business right here on yelp, thanks to the photo posted of the asian couple. My sister was in search of a florist for her wedding and as her Maid of Honor, I took it upon myself to help her find one. I called several businesses, including the one I used for my wedding--Twiggs--but they were already booked for a wedding the same day. I asked amongst friends for recommendations and I setup appointments for my sister. After meeting with the owner, JaJuan, my sister chose to go with Design with Florae, and she is so happy she did! First off, I have to say that Jajuan is a very kind and caring person. She is also very professional and talented. She responded to all phone calls and emails immediately and thoroughly answered any questions my sister or I had. She is sincere in her desire to achieve the look and feel you want in your floral arrangements. With all of her experience and creativity, Jajuan made a lot of great suggestions. She also did all that she could to get everything within my sister's budget. Jajuan went above and beyond in customer service by making two trips to the wedding venue to ensure the flowers looked as fresh and lively as possible in the sweltering July heat--once to drop off bouquets and boutonnieres for the wedding party for photos prior to the ceremony and then again to setup flowers for the ceremony and reception. As for the flower arrangements themselves, they were gorgeous! All of the colors were perfect and the flowers looked great throughout the evening, despite the hot weather. I especially loved the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets--they were simply beautiful! The bridesmaid bouquets had a peony in the center and it was perfect with our dresses. Jajuan was recommended to me by a family member as she had done a family member's wedding. First the positives, Jajuan was great to work with: friendly, creative and very responsive (she always responded to my emails). But the bridesmaids bouquets went limp after just one hour of pre-wedding shots (had I known that, I would have picked different flowers but I was never told those particular flowers would have a proclivity for that). I think it was the type of flowers and not necessarily how she wrapped them or the quality because my bouquet was fine, even the next day and I had different flowers. Secondly, she forgot the boutonnieres! Luckily, I built in enough time for things like that and she was able to make it back to the ceremony site in time for the ceremony. I would understand one or two, but how can you forget all of them? It's a wedding, it's like if the bride walked down the aisle and there was no groom. Boutonnierres go hand in hand with the bouquets. Sadly, due to those issues, I probably would not recommend her to others. read more

My wedding was gorgeous because she put so much pride and energy into making it that way. I loved what she did with our wedding so much, that I convinced my work to hire her for a major event we planned in Sacramento at the California Museum. My Husband and I got married on Aug. 6th, 2016. Jajuan did a fabulous job! Words cannot express how happy and how beautiful all my bouquets, centerpieces and ceremony alter looked. Jajuan made me vision become reality. She worked with me every step of the way and even though I changed my mind 3 different times, Jajuan was there via text, phone or email to help me out with her opinions, ideas or just to listen. She even worked with our budget and when an unexpected incident happened she helped me decide what was not that important to keep or what we could change to lower the cost. I had a specific vision for my wedding flowers, and discussed it with Jajuan at length over many months. I was surprised by how my flowers looked on my wedding day, as it was not what we had discussed. She gave me no indication leading up to the wedding that she was not going to follow the design in our conversations and contract. If you are looking for someone else to provide the artistic vision, she will be a great florist for you. In my initial interview I explained my colors and my preferences. I was more of a hands off brides and I asked Jajuan to provide me with guidance and make more independant decisions. Jajuan was very flexible and was able to run with my preferences and concept and make great suggestions. I was very happy with her quality of work and was relieved to have a professional organize this part of the wedding so I could handle other things. It was very easy to work with Jajuan and she also helped coordinate some special table runner linens that worked with the whole design concept. Jajuan was our wedding florist for our February 2016 wedding at The Citizen Hotel in Sacramento, CA. She was absolutely fantastic! While I saw many extraordinary ideas on Pinterest, I knew early on that my budget would not allow for most of my ideas. When I sat down with Jajuan, I told her my vision and what I love. We went through flowers I liked and disliked, colors, etc. She even started putting things together in the showroom at the initial consultation for the ceremony and table centerpieces (non-floral). I left knowing that Jajuan understood what I wanted and confident that she would deliver. Let me tell you, when Jajuan walked in with the flowers on the day of the wedding, I was stunned at how perfect they were (purple and orange with a winter feel - don't know how, but she pulled it off). Everything from that moment on that she did was perfection. The ceremony space was transformed into my dream, and the reception space was stunning. As with most brides today, I was on a tight budget and Jajuan stayed within my budget. She never treated me like less of a bride or made me feel like my event was less important because it wasn't as expensive as others. I cannot recommend Jajuan enough!
