A friend reccomended this nail salon for a pedicure. I was put off, at first, by the lowest average Yelp reviews I've ever seen for any business. Normally, I would accept that as a sign to stay away, but my friend insisted it was great and I should make an appointment. I called ahead on a Friday by only an hour, got an appointment, was seated immediately, the staff was extremely friendly, all the customers seemed happy (half of the chairs were occupied and there were still at least 2 nail techs available) and I received an excellent "Deluxe" pedicure. Prices and options are about average. The place is clean and the equipment (including the all-important massage chairs) is in good condition. I made an appointment for 11:30 and I sat until 12:35 without any acknowledgement other than the confirmation of appointment when I walked in initially, not to mention they started working on TWO gals who were regulars before me, who walked in AFTER me. I always come in with simple ideas or colors and I am turned down almost always saying they can't do it. Last time I was here I showed one of the guys a picture (ombré French tip) and he cringed and said well I can try and free hand it. My friend booked us for pedicures at Designer Nails. I had never been there so I was eager to try it. First of all, we had an appointment. But apparently half a dozen other people had appointments as well. They had clearly over booked as people had to wait quite a while to be seen. They finally got us settled into the water. I told them I was doing a shellac pedi. My friend was doing a regular polish pedi. This caused a bit of a commotion as the woman working on my feet suddenly stopped cleaning my feet and switched with someone else. The lady that was going to do mine said she would be to me soon. I didn't mind since that gave me more soaking time. The lady that then started working on them was efficient and detailed. But she rushed through my pedi. They had a $33 & $40 pedi's. My friend did the $33 and I did the $40. They did nothing different to my feet than what they did to hers. So then she left me to relax with hot towels on my legs and a while later a man came over and proceeded to paint my toes. I told him I was doing shellac... he was clearly upset. He and the lady that was doing my feet had words that I clearly did not understand. He then took the polish off and re-did them in shellac. The overall job was ok. I felt to have gone through 3 different people in one session was a bit odd. They were overbooked and rushed through my pedi. I moved to Keizer last year and I have been here a few times. Always clean and welcoming environment when I have visited. I love my nails this time, not the full ombre look I wanted but I am still happy with it. This visit took 2.5 hours and 3 if you count the 30 minutes I waited after my scheduled time, but they are thorough and make sure you are satisfied before leaving so for me it is worth the overall customary service. I made an appointment and was seen on time for my pedicure. The prices are about what you would pay anywhere else; maybe a little less. They have lots of options for types of pedicures which is nice. What was frustrating was it took double the time. My technician left twice to finish another client. The water my feet were in got cold as I waited. The end result was good, massage was great. I will only come here if I have the extra time. It shouldn't take 1.5 hours for a pedicure even if you get all the extras. I can clearly see that the owner and most of the staff really care about quality and customer experience. I could overhear customers having engaging customers while they received their services and each customer seemed very pleased. Unfortunately this was not my experience. The woman who did my nails was very abrupt and sort of acted like her first job was talking with the other staff and her second job was to do my nails. I've been having my nails done many years and I have done many different types of nails. In my experience, dip is similar to gel in the sense that it is a fairly simplified manicure which pasts a little longer. Because the staff member who did my nails was talking, or what seemed like arguing with her friend, my nails took an extremely long time and the quality was poor. All I asked was that she square off my natural nail and then dip. When my manicure was complete, there was color all over my skin and when I asked about it, I was told to "just wash your hands again." I also brought my cousin for her to get her nails done for her birthday and it took nearly halfway through my appointment to get her started on hers. It seemed as though no matter what she asked, she couldn't get what she wanted or the person doing her nails would forget. I also got my eyebrows waxed and she got wax in my hair... Not to mention our services were finished 15 minutes before their posted closing time and they treated us as though it was 30 minutes past close the entire appointment. I was not told about bringing me own kit and that , needless to say, caused an uproar with the lady doing my nails. This appointment started out bad and progressed. Let me explain. Terrible customer service! Terrible service and high prices. I explain I'm not in a hurry, thinking she may slow down and really take her time. Nope! Never had a problem here, conveniently located, clean shop. Had an appt today on Saturday for a bridal party nail party, and we were allowed bring our own wine! I had a cut on my middle finger which I warned them about (they were very gentle). I also had a toe nail that is recovering from a run, and a healing tender blister area. The husband of the owner said to me, and I quote " I spend a lot of time on you nails " an hour or so is how the normal fill would take unless you add extra things and color to your nails. My girlfriend, mom, and I went to get our nails done today for two fills and one manicure. their costumer service was absolutely crappy and disrespectful. my girlfriend was wanting to get small hearts on all of her fingers with CLEAR gel nail polish and the lady that was doing her nails after knowing what my girlfriend wanted proceeded to do a shimmery color instead. I am very very picky about my nails. Even though I work in customer service, when it comes to my nails, I don't give a rats ass whether someone can speak English or not, whether they were engaged or not, etc as long as they come out like I want them. I needed my nails done desperately, and I have gone to tons of nail salons in the area throughout the years, yet never to the same place twice. I called on Sunday at 10:00 and got an appointment for 12:15. I showed up promptly and they seated me right away! They didn't talk other than to ask me for the color, my kit, and the shape and that ways pretty fine with me. I set my expectations and they got to work. Paul, did an AMAZING job. He was definitely experienced, he was gentle, and made sure the nail was perfect and wasn't afraid to go back to make sure they were at 100%. I will definitely go back!! After that we got manicures and my nail tech cut all of the skin on my finger below my cuticle and now it is infected and hurts really bad. My shellac looks awful and very rushed. Very unhappy! I have gone to this salon for my nails for years, since they opened & had different owners & continued when owners changed. I was happy for most of those years. Horrible. I firmly believe that Keizer is miserably wanting for a decent nail place. Just moved back here from LA and decided to give this place a shot as I need to find a new regular pedicure spot. 1- no one greeted or even looked up at me when I walked in the door. I told them I had called about a pedicure, she said "Oh" and went back to what she was doing, giving me no direction. 2- polish selection is poor and disorganized 3- the water was cold when I put my feet in and I had to ask them to warm it. 4- she didn't ask me if I wanted my nails cut or filed. At all nail places in LA this is a standard question. I typically always cut my nails myself because I don't like them too short, then just ask them to file. Without asking she proceeded to cut my toenails so short that the skin under my nail bed was exposed. 5- my nail tech was super rushed and aggressive throughout the entire Spa Pedicure, from taking my polish off all the way to the "massage." She scrubbed my legs and feet so intensely that they stung badly when they went back in the water. My legs have a bunch of bruises on them from moving, and she paid no mind, massaging them super hard to the point that I was wincing in pain. When she finished my polish she just left me in the chair without a word and moved on to the next customer. I had to ask if I should move over to the dryer. Terrible service. We made an appointment for 12 pm and waited for 30 minutes before he asked us any questions. It ends up they never wrote down our name and we weren't in their book. When we walked in the door, he asked what we were there for and said "okay take a seat", so he knew the service we needed and that we had an appt. After 30 minutes, he began accusing us of getting salons mixed up and made us prove what number we called. We recited their number from our call history and still denied that we called the right place. He then told us they could do 3 pm. This is all after we waited in silence for 30 minutes. First impression upon walking in was good, it was very stylish and chic, unlike most nail shops, so I was excited... BUT, we were basically denied service. Why?! Beats the hell out of me! There were only TWO customers in the shop and two employees, one of which wasn't even doing anything but standing there looking stupid. It's not like we walked in right before closing time, it was 5pm! The employee said we could make an appointment for the next day, but we just left. I would not go back here. Employees were not friendly and what I was asking for seemed like a big burden in the guys day. I would not suggest the place to anyone. Our appointment was at 10:30am we booked it the day before but when we got there they seemed like they didn't know we were coming. They looked at each other and started speaking a different language and then said they would be with us shortly. 25 minutes later at 10:55am one of us got seated. 15 minutes after that at 11:10 I got seated...40 minutes AFTER our appointment time. I was getting my nails done till 12 and the whole time I felt like the guy doing my nails hated me. I asked for 1 nail to be chevron striped and he seemed to be extremely frustrated with me. I left with my "chevron" nail looking awful and I was charged an extra $5 to have h paint stripes on it. It was $30 for a shellac manicure. I would not suggest going here. They don't deserve any stars. This place is awful. My sisters and nieces went here. Some of us got pedicures and some of us got nails and pedicure. The lady didn't even ask me what pedicure I wanted and just did what ever she wanted and charged me for the most expensive one. My niece got fake nails and they broke off the same day. We all got shellac and they started to lift 3 days after we got them done. When I called to talk to the manager she was rude and won't take care of her customers.
