I am still trying to figure out yelp and decide weather I like it or not. It does give me a list of places, i.e. restaurants or pizza joints etc in an area so if I were out of town that would be helpful, however.... and here comes the not so sure about yelp part.... I decided to check out the reviews of my local florist and was shocked to see they had a low star rating since I have been here many times and love this place. The fresh arrangements are gorgeous and if you actually go there in person the place is fantastic. The ower is always friendly and there are beautiful plants, silk arrangements and even home decor and when I was in there just the other day they had the cutest succlent gardens. (going back for one of those) So I can't believe there were only like 3 reveiws and none of them were favorable. I continued reading down the Designs of Elegance page and low and behold if you scroll way down there is a list of reveiws that are "not recommended" I clicked on that and there more then 20 reviews there and many of them should definatly be recommended. When I read about the girl whose wedding the owner of this store saved, or see the photos of several beautiful arrangements one particular lucky lady has received I can't fathom why those kinds of reviews would not be recommended. This is why I'm not sure I like yelp or could trust it. What if I was looking for a restaruant out of town and saw a cute diner ad with nothing but 3 or 4 bad reviews, If I was in a hurry and didn't bother to scroll down to see if there were more reviews I might pass the place up.. or visa versa what if there are only 3 good reviews recommended so we go there and the place sucks, only to find out if I had scrolled down to the "not recommended" reviews I could have found several bad ones. I don't know why they don't just post all the reviews and let people make up thier own mind.. I guess I'll have to only use yelp when I have lots of time to read the whole page of the place I'm looking for and not when I'm in a hurry looking for a place to eat or shop or buy flowers in an unfimilar town. read more

Horrible experience here today and I wish I saw the below reviews prior to ordering wow. I ordered an all pink arrangement with a specific pink vase and they delivered an ugly white vase and almost all white flowers to my friend. Owner was extremely rude when I called and was a worker about it and said she would go take them back from my friend and replace them! But yet she had none of what I ordered in her shop and no pink vases HELLO! NO NO NO you do not take away a gift if you cant deliver what I ordered OMG. I ordered 4 other friends flowers from all over Syracuse Rome and Cazenovia and had no problems with those other shops today. There is no excuse and she refused to give me a partial refund and was rude . The owner Robin also delivered these flowers herself per the worker on the phone earlier in shitty rainy weather today and left them on my friends porch with no box or cover over them if her dog hadnt barked at the car pulling out she wouldnt of got them and they would of been ruined as well she never knocked either. Stay away from this shop! They also never called me to ask if sending another color was even okay and tell me they ran out and the worker admitted they should of called and asked me first!!!! UPDATE the owner actually had the balls to contact a old disowned family member of mine because we have the same last name and he has been calling me harassing me about this review from a restricted number because hes been blocked from my phone for over a year and is a drunk. Not written by myself but posted to their fb page and worth Sharing on yelp: I am a local florist. I own Travis Floral in Hannibal Also a very good friend of Robin. I am writing this review for her to share on her business page. I was at a golf course over the weekend and my friend started telling me about his experience with the local florist in Pulaski. He told me that he was fooled by his google search into ordering from Avis flowers for his wife's birthday. They took the order and his money and he thought he was all set. It was three o'clock when they called him back and told him they were unable deliver in Pulaski. He told them that's ridiculous there's a florist right down the street! Of course he realized at that point he should have called designs of elegance direct. He called and spoke to robin and told her what happened.... shocker ..... She of course saved the day within an hour she had it made and delivered and his wife was thrilled!!!!! I told him I would share this story for him. The owner is professional and personable - and she saved my wedding! When I met with the owner for my bridal consultation we spent nearly two hours discussing the flowers and every other topic you can imagine. I felt well-cared for and like I left with a new friend. Months later, as my wedding rapidly approached, my hair stylist flaked out on me when I was just four days away from my wedding date. After a sleepless night, I thought to call Robin and ask if she might know anyone who could do my hair on such late notice. She and her staff came through! Within a few hours they had hooked me up with the owner of a local salon, A Cut Above, and I was back in business with not only an on-site hair stylist but also a make-up artist. The flowers were perfect! It was like she took photographs of what I imagined in my mind and then delivered them fresh! So fresh, in fact, that four days later they still look amazing enough to walk down the aisle! Thank you to Robin and her staff at Designs of Elegance! Your efforts made our day perfect! read more

We work very hard at what we do and we give a lot to our community. This is the community I was raised in and raise my children in. I enjoy being active in my community. Negative Yelp reviews are devised to affect my business in a negative way. (I volunteer an immense amount of time and have paid out of pocket to support several events in our hometown.) Being a business owner in our small town, allows me to do this. Yelp only shows the bad reviews, reviews that on a couple, we can't even find an order for in our system. One complaint is a complete misrepresentation but -that's okay. All of our 5 star reviews, are "not recommended". You have to click on the "not recommended" tag to see them. If I pay to advertise with Yelp, more of my good reviews will be released. (their words not mine.) Running a small business today is beyond difficult as it is, this sense of extortion simply complicates it further. read more

I absolutely love the arrangements I received from Designs of Elegance, they were absolutely beautiful. Robin is absolutely AMAZING, she really knows her stuff! I have received as well as ordered from her many times and have always been delighted and completely satisfied with her service. Delivery has always been prompt and exactly what I have asked for. I almost always leave my order up to Robins expertise as that is in fact what she does. If you call and tell her a rough idea of what you are looking for, she will leave you speechless. I ordered a bouquet of fresh flowers for my gramma's funeral. I wanted something fresh and beautiful and bright on such a somber day. Robin and her team knocked it out of the park!! My experience was the same as the only otehr reviewer here - just a completely awful experience. The intial person I spoke with was great, but the owner took over when it was clear they had incomplete inventory for making jsut about ANTYTHING that was pictured on their website. At that point the owner said "we have x, y and z flowers - what can we make for you." Of course, I have no idea what they look like as consumers are not the flower experts, or they wouldn't be calling, so the owner said "I don't think we can help you - have a good day". I have dealt with this business for many years, and their arrangements are always lovely, I've always felt that I've received what I paid for, and the staff is always pleasant and helpful.
