Our two labradoodles have some serious issues with anxiety, adhd and brain damage. Their trainer told us that they are basically intellectually disabled. Sweet boys but very hard to work with. When I called the first time I tried to explain their issue because we have had groomers before ghost us and we need someone patient and who can be understanding. They said no worries and put on their record brain damaged and set us with Kara. Kara is the most patient and amazing person. She told us that she will do her best but not to expect perfect. Understandable! One couldn't stand in the tub, kept falling over when his feet got wet, both have tried walking off the table multiple times, one refused to walk anywhere, too scared of the dryer etc etc etc. and every time she has done an amazing job. Even though my dog always hated his time here, I will still give 5 stars to a great group of ladies who were always kind and did their best to groom my little guy as I asked. He came out looking and smelling fresh. Pretty reasonable prices given my dog's amount of fur and fluff, and remained consistent during my 3 visits. I wish my dog and his groomer got along better, but I suppose he is just a grumpy old man who misses his old groomer in Colorado. It does get pretty loud and hectic in there, so I wouldn't recommend for anxious pups, but otherwise the groomers seem kind and patient so you should be a good hands. read more

3rd time was not the charm. I have two dogs so this is Bella's 2nd try here and again, close but not quite what I asked. I wouldn't recommend. I walked in, said hello and was ignored. I awkwardly sat on the bench while the lady at the counter finished. I sat there a few more minutes until a guy walked in and she tells him he'll be grooming Bella so he rushes to put his stuff down and came out. I took Bella to a different groomer a few months ago, she came back to me limping, screamed in my car trying to move around and peed and pood all over the back seat. I had to take her to the vet and they called the groomers to find out what exactly happened, nothing was ever admitted but they offered to pay her visit and Bella still has issues on her leg. Because of this people gave me the idea to make her a resume so that I can give it to her groomers and vets, I loved this idea, extra AF but after what's happened I'm down! They barely glanced at it and then proceeded to ask me how I wanted the cut even though it was all typed up, which is okay it's better to talk about it but he said he took a pic and gave it back without reading it. We talked about a clean shaven face and I had written that she gets pretty messy so definitely all shaved; she's still messy and on top of that her hair was still curly and messy and when I pet her a bunch of little hairs kept coming off so I'm really not sure she got bathed even though I had asked for it. So when she comes back out I never like saying anything other than it looks good, because I know grooming a dog must be hard but he noticed he missed a chunk on her butt so he brought the clippers out and cleaned her up which I thought was nice but a bit weird because wouldn't that be something you would see when you check her after you're done? It was much quicker than any place I've ever been to so she's got some patches and I had to wet and brush her face a bit to get it to look less messy (that's on her for eating messy but this is why I emphasized she needs it short). read more

Ok, just did a quick visit to try and see if we could get our corgi's nails trimmed. Joey is a true corgi personality - barker when nervous, high anxiety, and nipper when challenged. Several places wouldn't do his nails, and we just moved to the area. Jennifer was AMAZING! She was patient and persistent... and, super loving to Joey. Our dog is a small poodle mix and our old groomer took a new job, so we were looking for a new place. The haircut from Desilu was alright, a little shaggy, and the groomer accidentally cut her paw. There wasn't much bleeding and to be fair, she took part of the blame for it, but also blamed the dog, saying she was moving around too much. However, we've taken our dog to be groomed and nail-clipped every 6-8 weeks like clockwork for six years, and no groomer has ever broken the skin. The dog also came out with a garish pink feather glued to her ear hair, which we didn't ask for and the dog didn't seem to like. We had to cut the feather off by cutting off a chunk of ear hair as soon as we got home. The store seemed clean and the staff was quite friendly, but the girl at the counter suggested we not leave our dogs leash with them because "leashes tend to get misplaced." That's a weird thing to say. Overall an underwhelming experience, but except for the cut on her paw we got our dog back none the worse for wear. However, we'll be looking for a new place for our dog's next grooming appointment. read more

I very rarely write reviews (I should be better about that), BUT I had to say how extraordinary this business is. You could not find a "dog-centric" business where dogs are actually more loved. I rescued a new dog last week (I lost my 14 year old chihuahua two years ago and was so grieving it took me a good long while to get another dog). He is a 1.5 year old Pomeranian. He came from a breeder who was overwhelmed with too many dogs. When I got him he was filthy and had never been groomed. His hair was a matted mess, he smelled so strongly of urine that I had to throw out my shirt from that day. He was given baths and I spent two days trying to brush him out, but I am not dog groomer. I desperately needed help. The poor little guy was panting hard and behaving as though he was in a lot of discomfort. I spent two days calling groomers basically begging for help. I even offered to just wait on call if they could work him in. I was worried that he was in physical pain because of the mats. Luckily, thank God, I came across Desilu's Pet Boutique. After I told the lady on the phone of my problem she actually cared and did everything she could to help me and help the poor dog. They listened and cared and worked me in the very next day. My husband actually took the dog in and said everyone there is as nice and caring as you could want. Most importantly, the Groomer who worked on my dog did an OUTSTANDING job. Dog grooming is an artform and obviously this groomer is the top of the game. My dog came back groomed to perfection. He was cut to perfection and the price of the groom, given the state he was in, was very reasonable. He had no clipper burns at all even though I know some of the mats were right next to the skin. This place really cares about your dog and they are a pleasure to work with. They have a customer for life here. Just an outstanding business. I highly recommend! read more

A flat coated retriever (like a black golden) has an undercoat that gets matted if not brushed regularly. Like many pet owners, I was remiss in this activity. The thorough brushing and trimmed haunches and tail plus the cowgirl scarf accessory made her appear ready for an American Kennel Club showing as she exited her own private ventilated cube while strutting her stuff rushing to my open arms. This review is overdue! I honestly took a lot of time to read reviews of places before I decided to drop Cash off to get his first shower, nail trim and haircut... My baby has a double coat so I wanted to make sure that the person knew what they were doing... I forgot her name but she was so patient and confident explaining how they would do his cut. Even better done than said, perfect cut, his private parts had a great trim so he wouldn't get his hair dirty when going potty anymore, their nail trim was great, he came out completely brushed (he shed lots), and smelling so good. Bought my Siberian Husky here to get groomed. If you've ever owned a husky, you know the horror that is their undercoat, and what happens if you don't keep up with it. My girl hadn't had a good brushing in a while, and had never been to a professional groomer. I am so incredibly pleased with the job that the staff at DesiLu's did. My fur machine has been transformed into an absolute beauty. We have 2 shihtzu puppies and have taken them to DesiLu's 3 times now. Each time they were taken care of by Aubrey for the full service (wash, haircut, ear trim, butt cleaning, and nail trim). My dogs seem to be comfortable and happy whenever they go. Aubrey does a wonderful job with them each time. Let me start off by saying my dog was very happy and energetic when I dropped her off and picked her up so she must've been treated well! Everyone was very friendly I just felt like I was rushed in and rushed out, they didn't ask of my dogs behavior or any details prior besides over the phone which was age type and name. And when I left the girl at the counter told me the amount paid and then just stared at me writing the check and when I finished didn't say thank you or bye or anything. At first glance she is beautiful and very soft and I believe they did a good job but once we got in the car hair just began flying everywhere. we always drive with the window down rain or shine and never have this problem. I don't know if I should've asked for them to brush her? Or what I could've done differently. I'm just a little disappointed because the main reason I took her in was because I wanted her fur to be deep cleaned and fresh... And brushed thoroughly. I would've turned around and gone back but I have things to do and that's too time consuming as I live in Everett. I did appreciate them getting me in on short notice and the reminder text day of. I just brought back my pup from this groomer's and I am so thrilled with the results! This is definitely the first time I've actually been satisfied/happy with the way my dog looks after a haircut. I'm really picky and give really specific directions and the groomer here totally listened and cut my pup's hair exactly the way I asked! I've tried going to other places such as Blue Ribbon Pet Salon (also in Mukilteo) and Petsmart and I have never come home feeling like I got my money's worth. Desilu's is definitely the place I'll be taking my dog from now on. The only thing downside that I might add is that it is a bit pricier than other places such as Petsmart and Petco. I paid $50 for my small breed dog. Overall, a great place and even more awesome that it's a new place and so clean! read more

I love this place, especially Brandy! This store is well organized, clean, well staffed, and experienced. I have appreciated all the work they've done for me and my many dogs over the years, and I'm compelled to finally write my review. They are popular, so schedule ahead. But I have had them fit me in. My Aussie likes them too, which is unusual for him. He won't let me do anything to him, but the groomers at Desilu's all report that he was fine, and they had no problem with him. This tells me he trusts them. I also like the owner. I've only met her a handful of times, but she is who gave me my first impression of her business, which is "fairness, tight ship, comparable prices, and responsible." I respect that! She has had the same staff here for many years too, and that says a lot about integrity of her workforce. Her employees seem very dedicated and happy with their jobs. I have been happy with the job done on my boys,Digby, a poodle and Garry, a shih zu /poodle They come home cute and happy. Digby is very well mannered older loves being groomed he just needs a loving touch to deal with old man body aches. Garry likes the shampoo and blow dry, not so much the trim and nail cutting .I feel they take the time to understand the differences, my dogs are playful when I pick them up, that is a good sign!If your dog is acting like HELP get me out of here, take note!
