I reached out to Desiree in early December to have my makeup done for a wedding I was attending that happened to land on New Years Eve. I wanted my makeup to last all day & night since the wedding started at 2pm & was going to end after midnight for the new year. Desiree was amazing through the whole process. We first chatted over IG, telling her what I wanted my makeup to look like & how I normally had it on a day to day basis & so forth. The day of, she was so friendly & sweet & so easy to talk with & really made me feel comfortable. She communicated well with me until she knew exactly how I wanted my look to be. Let me start by saying that I don't wear make-up...ever. I had a wedding to attend, and I wanted to look nice. I tried Sephora and Mac but because of Covid protocols, they weren't offering full-service make-up application. I turned to Yelp and found Desiree. She is amazing! We had great communication beforehand and even though I ran a little late (about 5 minutes) from my hair appointment, I still had a great experience. Great job Desiree. I appreciate all the work you did for my 60th birthday celebration. Everyone was making compliments of how stunning I looked on my big day.  I have been to a lot of make-up artists and I didn't like any of them so I gave up. I decided that I will do my own make-up from now but for my 60th I decided to have my make up done but only if I found someone I liked. I did a lot of research and I picked Desiree because of her reviews but most importantly, I based it on some pictures of her work. I booked her and I'm so happy with the results. I did my bridal preview with her but unfortunately I did not like the way it turned out, especially in pictures. I have large pores and she didn't even put anything on them to make them look smaller, just caked on the makeup. I wish I had more time to see how it came out but I was rushed. The time you were running late, could have been used to take a better look at your work. You mentioned you were enjoying your extra unemployment money and traveling last year so I'm sure you're ok. I'm not angry, just disappointed because I was fooled by the reviews. Hoping this helps someone. I guess I should have asked what would happen if I didn't like my makeup but found out the hard way that you're screwed because you have to pay the full amount again. I wanted to give her another try, but I'd be risking another $100+. No thank you. I'd rather pay someone else $120 and see if they do a better job. I don't mind paying the money if I knew I was gonna love it. You're very nice Desiree but this is my wedding day and I wish I would have loved my makeup. ‍.
