Roya did my hair for my wedding earlier this year. My hair looked great for most of the day, and she is clearly very talented. However, there were some downsides to the overall experience, especially given the premium price and the fact that I booked her for two looks and all-day touch-ups. Roya arrived to my bridal suite wearing a "MIGA" ("Make Iran Great Again") hat, a slogan modeled after Trump's MAGA movement and associated with political rhetoric about Iran. Regardless of personal beliefs or current events, wearing anything political as a wedding vendor is very unprofessional, especially when there is a chance of you being in bridal suite photos. Thankfully, my mom and maid of honor asked her to remove it before we headed to the venue because i didn't want my guests to misinterpret her hat, but the situation stressed me out on what was supposed to be a peaceful and relaxing morning . And the hat appeared in my wedding photos/video and I had to ask my videographer and photographer to make edits. She also ran about 30 minutes late to my trial and arrived 40 minutes late on my wedding day past my requested start time. I anticipated that she might be late based on reviews and prior experience and adjusted my timeline accordingly, but that is not something a bride should ever have to plan for, especially at this premium price point. Lastly, she left right as my reception began, despite me paying for touch-ups throughout the wedding. At the time I was fine with it, but by the time I cut my cake and after dancing, my bangs looked sweaty and no longer appeared polished. Riri's work on Instagram looks beautiful, but her poor time management caused serious issues on my wedding day. Unless you are her only bride or her first bride of the day, your hair may not last. My trial hair was great, but the result on the wedding day was the complete opposite. I visited her several times throughout the year, and she arrived late every single time. Once, she even left for lunch after confirming our appointment time, even though I had texted her my ETA just minutes before. On my wedding day, she was supposed to arrive at 10 AM but did not show up until around noon. My wedding planner tried calling several times, but every call went to voicemail. She sent a photo claiming car trouble, but the timestamp showed it was taken much earlier, and when I asked for her ETA, she stopped responding. The stress from all of this caused me to have a full-blown panic attack. She often seemed distracted and forgetful, mixed up information and payments, and messaged me directly instead of going through my planner, which added more stress. One of my extensions even fell out during the day. She had plenty of unused hair that would have made my look more polished, but she rushed through the process and convinced me it was not needed. Later, she claimed she had given me a discount, but it turned out the total was simply lower because the wig she ordered ended up costing less from another vendor. She had even told me that at the time but seemed to forget and later tried to make it sound like a fifty percent discount to gain sympathy in her response to me. Earlier in the year, she told me she prefers to work with high end brides, which made me feel like I was not enough. I overlooked that because I truly believed her work would be amazing. We even added extra time to our schedule because of her pattern of lateness. Meanwhile, she posted the bride before me on Instagram that same day. That bride looked flawless while I looked rushed, disheveled, and messy. It felt like she spent so much time creating content for that first bride that she did not make it to me on time. I booked her two years ago, yet she still made me less of a priority to fit in another client. I even asked about booking her for the full day, but she confidently told me it was not necessary and that my hair would not move at all. Later, she posted on Instagram that it is now required to book her for the full day. When I tried to talk with her afterward, she shifted the situation and made me feel like I should have been the one apologizing because she was stressed. It was confusing and incredibly disappointing. To be fair, she can be a likable person, and that might make you want to look past certain things. I truly looked forward to working with her again, but everything that happened was just too much to overlook. After I raised my concerns privately, she blocked me, my planner, and others involved with my wedding on Instagram, which felt very unprofessional. Please do not rely only on her Instagram photos. Take time to read through all her reviews across different listings. It also seems like some negative reviews do not appear immediately on her Yelp page, which can give a misleading impression of her overall reputation. read more

After I sat down to wait for my appointment (I was early), one of the staff members brought me coffee served in an actual coffee cup with a saucer, and a chocolate Valentine's truffle. She then lit an aromatic candle. My stylist was MacKenzie who did a fantastic job with my Brazilian Blowout. She took her time and never once seemed hurried.
