Shaun Deskins and his team were incredible. Our siding was in terrible shape and they were able to meet with us right away, explain the process start to finish (including possible additional expenses along the way depending on how bad the damage was behind the rotted siding) and did not try to hard sell us. Shaun also took his time to assess/measure the house, take pictures, and send us a true (and very fair!) quote. His guys were out there that week, were very friendly, and the communication was the best I've ever experienced with any contractor we've had. They listened to what we wanted, explained why any changes to the plan needed to be made BEFORE any work was done, and were extremely thorough. They went above and beyond to make sure our house was done right inclusive of repairs and overall look. Shaun came out multiple times to see how the project was going, and also had his project manager Jesse overseeing anything he couldn't. We really appreciated the dedication Jesse and Shaun displayed, especially making sure that their crew slowed down while replacing the front of our home that had the most damage and character. They replaced and reinforced the bones where it was needed, and took the time to preserve the character of the unique look that the face of our house has. We also loved that there was one crew for siding and a different crew for painting instead of a one stop shop as these are different crafts. Mostly, we love coming home what looks like a brand new house. The professionalism, communication, and care was top knotch. It was wonderful to know that a company that puts the customer and the process first still exists - instead of cutting corners while racing to the finish line and moving onto the next. Wow !!! what can I say if I could give 10 stars I would. I needed a quote for my roof replacement so I was referred to Jesse by WOM and he was so professional with a good sense of humor and treat you as family from the start. I explained how my schedule was so crazy and was only available on the weekends so he made arrangements to come to my house on the weekend and was very punctual Jesse and Shaun came out and both gave me their honest opinions. I did get other quotes, but I knew I wouldn't get the quality work good material and the warranty Jesse offered me. They will definitely be handling all my home improvements going forward. Picking a contractor is nerve wracking - are they honest, do they do good work, will they complete the job timely - to name just a few of the worries. I am very happy with the Deskins Group. They are local and it is important to me to support local businesses. I have used them twice now - small job involving siding and bees (don't ask) last year and a much bigger job involving adding a walk-in shower where only the ever present 1970s wet bar existed, external paint job, new windows (replacing original aluminum), new hot water heater and a couple of smaller items in a 1974 house. Shaun Deskins was knowledgeable, personable, set reasonable expectations and has a knack for hiring crews that are competent, friendly, courteous and hard workers. (He and the his crews had their work cut out for them since there seems to be no 90 degree angles in this house.) And his crew chief - Jesse - is just the best! I work from home and need to be on conference calls at various times during the day and worked with my schedule. He kept me informed when more noisy work needed to occur (like jack hammering, nail guns, cutting out the aluminum windows, etc). Dust was another item that they excelled at keeping out of the rest of the house. And I have dogs and was worried about stray nails, screws, etc. Jesse ensured a big rolling magnet was run around the house frequently so that the dogs couldn't get stupid and eat said metal. I've have had many contractors come to our house for different estimates for various projects. We had our windows done by one company and then had siding down by Deskins Group. The pricing was great, the quality of work excellent and the crews were nice, always smiling (usually but the heat in Houston can melt that away). Shaun and Jesse were quick to respond to concerns and even corrected some of the installation of our windows. I wished we had them do the windows as well but lesson learned. We cant say enough about the wonderful service and result that Shaun and his crew made to our house. They were always very caring, timely and courteous to our needs from the beginning. Whenever we had questions or concerns during construction, Jessie would always be here and when necessary Shaun would come as well. We felt as though they were part of our family because they are extremely caring of their jobs. Our house, garage and poolhouse had the original siding from 1972, which was very much in disrepair. Jessie always came out to introduce the crew and get set-up. First they removed all the siding, added osb wrapping with James Hardie and painted to finish, along with 6" gutters for better drainage. It looks so beautiful and New, we love it! The Major addition was our Patio cover and outdoor kitchen with gas grill, running water and beverage sink, granite countertop and marble ledger tile for the wall and around 2 supporting posts. I used Deskins Group for home siding replacement, re-painting of my home and a rebuild of a bay window. Shaun is GREAT!! HIGHLY recommend. He is honest and friendly. His pricing is fair. The did a good job with no complaints. The work was done in a timely manner and finished around the time projected. He came back later to seal below the bay window. AND he was willing to fix a door that wasn't shutting correctly after the power washing of the home at no cost. In this city, especially after Harvey there are a lot of questionable service providers out there. We had a terrible time with the contractor we chose to help with our rebuild after Harvey. Wish we would have know about Shaun and the Deskins Group! So if you are looking for a bid on exterior siding, home painting or any internal home remodel work it's worth it to call Shaun. You will see what I mean. Good honest guy. His pastor has even hired him to work for him. I have referred him to all of my neighbors already.
