They had a cool collection of gifts for budding artists, kids and professionals. Tools for painting, carving, crafting & POTTERY!! my good friend just purchased a pottery wheel. I will be sure to tell her to visit the gilded rabbit. Two woman working we're helpful. I loved the smooth artsy jams playing over the radio. It got me in the mood to create. Prices are reasonable for a standalone art supply store is comparable to those you would find in a big box store. Although you would never find the selection or specialized tools in a big box location. Having said that ...... WHY NOT SUPPORT THE LITTLE GUY! As well, it is a great place to stop in and talk all things art, art supplies and everyday. Yes I was in a rush, and tried to pay but the staff manning the cashier is helping another customer. I asked for help from another staff but got ignored. Cashier gave me attitude and said they are understaffed. If you are a business delivering service, priority should be helping customers as this translates into business. Staff is not trained or not willing to multitask. My friend and I left the store fuming, mostly with the staff's attitude.

She keeps up with all the old, new and upcoming tools that a papercrafter could use or want. Also she keeps up with every embossing folders, stamps and dies out there that her Canadian supplier can get for her and she does her best to keep up with whats new and hot in the crafting world! I really like the new location as there is lots of parking, the store is spacious and bright inside and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The wall on the right side of the entrance changes with difference themes periodically. The store is laid out so there is lots of room to look around without getting in other people's way. The paper is displayed by theme along with stickers and embellishments. They carry some unique papers like printed acetate. Ink, markers, ribbon, stamps and die cuts are located near the back of the store. What I was so excited about was to see stamped images on watercolour paper. There was a selection of different images and greetings for cards, each sheet was $1.79. The images can be coloured with Copic markers, watercolour pencils or aqua painters. You cannot walk in and not buy anything. If you spend over ten dollars and you get one scrap buck which does not expire. They offer Saturday crops as well as the occasional weekend crop. The place is very bright and clean with an okay selection - it's definitely not the biggest that I've seen but I think you would get by for a project that you were working on. I love the idea of scrapbooking/creating and enjoying coffee at the same time - I didn't have a coffee though as I was on a mission for my letters! The customer service was lacking though as I asked for help finding anything with letters - stickers, stencils, anything. The lone employee told me that she was pretty sure they didn't have anything. I looked through the store and I found two separate packs of letter stickers and she was surprised when I brought them to the till. I get that you may not always know what's in stock, but I would have expected an employee to come out from behind the till (when she wasn't serving anyone at the time) to double check a few places where she may have seen the product I was seeking in the past. This store is out of the way for me on the north end of the City but it is conveniently located just off St. Albert Trail.

As a customer of 26 years we have been purchasing equipment, butcher and trapping supplies from…read moreHalford's. But the experience with the service/repair dept. or in this case person was something else. After having been misled and purchased a part that didn't solve the issue with our machine, contacting the manufacturer ourselves to diagnose what was wrong with the machine (which should have been the job of the repair person - troubleshooting) we finally found out it to be the timer relay. Dropped off the machine to get fixed in August and not even 4 months later the same part needs replacing. After contacting Halfords and informing them that the machine is down again, it took 3 days to get a reply which included a statement that the part that had been installed might be faulty. As this is a machine that is in use daily we opted to buy a machine that was available to us immediately to continue our work. So today we were told we have to pay for the part and the shipping. When I questioned it and refused to pay I was schooled on "how warranty on electrical items work and as I bought a machine somewhere else, to go and let these people repair it". We have never been treated that way at Halford in the past. Maurice was always helpful and pleasant to deal with and always found a solution. Today's treatment was the opposite of customer service.

I found my stand and a ton of smudge sticks right near the front door. I didn't need any smudge sticks but I know where I will go when I need them next. When I went to pay for my purchase I was pleasantly surprised to see products from Mother Earth Essentials as I have only found them at the Royal Alberta Museum until today. I would give 5 stars but they are closed on Saturdays. I was told today by staff due to the owners religious beliefs that is their day of rest which is cool, I give them credit for their convictions.

It seemed to imply he was some sort of racist and without specifics I think sometimes people treat you purely because you're an asshole that happens to be "of colour". The reviewer was Indian and instinctively roped every single "colour" in aide of his cause, weirdly enough the shop assistant is Indian(leaning too) and he allegedly received the best service from her. So the review wreaks of bias from someone stuck on subjectivity. The author claims to be a designer, that has nothing better to do than try to destroy one of the last importers of quality paper and ink. This is sad to see. He cites being world travelled and online alternatives from industrial assassins like Amazon, yet if you actually worked with pen and paper, you'd know how ridiculous his assault is. High quality pen and paper isn't as available to us in Canada, let alone Edmonton as easily as he would purport. I wanted to set the record straight, as the darkest "of colour" there is no racism here. Those that seek power to dehumanize others, are cursed to walk the earth as a disgruntled customer that wants to pick a fight with someone that dedicated their life to paper and ink(medium), when he lost he decided to douse the place in kerosene. Don't be his match, support this great store. Nothing is more beautiful than archiving your thoughts in beautiful paper with the best of ink. Instead light a torch the algorithm cannot extinguish. This place is a gem, whose value is priceless. All thanks to a dedicated steward.

Was also recently introduced to the world of watercolour painting and the expansive world of ink artwork - be it drawing, calligraphy, etc. I was so excited to try a new art medium that I had to go back and pickup a little starter kit (happy Xmas to me), which was also at a great price for the items inside! And best part about good quality ink is that it will last LOOOONG time as you only need a little at a time, and handle it with care and store safely as instructed I'm definitely going back in the future for some other ink colours once I put some practice into my new set
