We've had to work through several medical issues (i.e., reduced kidney function, diabetes, arthritis, and hyperthyroid issues). However, due to the care and treatment they've received both our old girls are still going strong at 19! Good proactive care does cost some money but it is well worth it. Animals with even challenging conditions can continue to lead happy lives with proper treatment. Our two kitties are proof of that. Dr. Peuser and Olathe Animal Hospital are fantastic. I can't recommend them highly enough!

I felt like Dr. Meerdink didn't know my pets or truly listen to me. She confused our 8 month old cat (who she had seen multiple times several months before) for our new 4 month old kitten. She asked if the older cat was our new cat. When our older cat slowly lost his ability to walk, Dr. Meerdink was unhelpful in her (non) diagnoses. After medication did not help, I called her and she said she didn't know what else to do for him, without running any bloodwork or anything. Dr. Meerdink gave my cat a shot for his pain, she told me it was prednisone one day and the next she said it was cortisone, when in fact it was neither of these medication. As we repeatedly took our cat to the vet for his walking issues it took her nearly a month to run any bloodwork. This place charged us over 450 dollars for some eye medication and to tell us that his bloodwork was normal and they couldn't help. The only good thing this place has done for us is to refer us to Mission Emergency and Specialty, a place that charged less and provided more. I will not be returning here unless I want to be ripped off and receive poor care for my pet.

I adopted a second dog from the shelter and wanted to have my dog checked and vaccinated. I mentioned that my dog had a suspicious mass on his paw and the staff that were not the regular staff who examined my dog completely brushed me off and ignored me. I took my dog back a second time to look at the mass and again I had a Dr. that is not regularly there examine my dog. She mentioned something about a needle aspiration and then told me just to watch the mass for growth. The mass continued to grow and I decided to take my dog to another vet. This vet took their time with me and did surgery immediately after I took him there. They saved him from losing his toe and will determine if it's Cancer. If you love your pet don't bring them to this incompetent practice that simply doesn't care about your pet's health and life!!!
