M & M is a small family owned business has been servicing RI and surrounding areas for over 25 years. I had a limited exposure to paving as a teen because I worked a summer doing it. Hot work ! In the summer, Hot work.. So, the job consisted of removal of old asphalt, grading, applying binder cost, compacting and then finish with class 1 topcoat and cleanup. The estimator was punctual to his appointment. The price submitted was correct and reasonable for the job. The appointment was made for the work 3 weeks out. The office confirmed the appointment a few days ahead of arrival. The crew with Mike (owner), at the helm arrived at exactly at the time and date established. The crew of 6 (7 with Mike), worked flawlessly together like a well tuned orchestra doing a symphony. In a few short hours the job was completed, the work completely cleaned up! No hesitation here: highly recommend! 5 stars ! Ken Postscript: LOOK.. Asphalt paving is a real tough occupation. Good help is difficult to find and keep. Customers, (especially ones that are not familiar with the "paving trade", are sometimes not treated honestly and overpay for substandard work. Quality of the work was top notch. We've had several hard rains since and there is no pooling. Water drains perfectly. Had a signed contract for 3 months (mid 5 digits so nothing small) and never showed up. Discussed…read morethe finish date when signed and then, when it was time to work, nothing. After numerous conversations, over about 8 weeks, I couldn't get a commitment from Steve. Every time I was told they would try for something, they failed. Steve will promise to be there, get you a date, try to get to you, etc, and then just nothing. If the owner conducts business like this, I can only imagine how his crew would behave. I ended up finding a quality contractor (ZF Outdoors) that was able to bail me out, after the delays Steve caused, and still have it done by the deadline. IF YOU WANT YOUR JOB DONE ON TIME CALL SOMEONE ELSE! I'm glad I did! UDATE: Regarding Steve's comments about a deposit. To give a contractor 50% before they even start is crazy, because of situations like this with contractors disappearing and/or failing. Steve and I spoke and settled on 4 payments of 25%, the first of which was due when he showed up and started working. You can believe what you want but BUYER BEWARE!!

Paying them is easy since he just emails over an invoice you can pay online. He did our Fall clean up and our yard still looks great six months later. I also appreciate that they do snow removal. We also got on their schedule for that and they are super reliable. Oftentimes my neighbors would still have snow on their driveways but Darvin and crew had come to clear our driveway overnight, we were always ready to go in the AM.
