This is my first review on Yelp, I actually set up an account so I could write this review. Over the Christmas Holiday I visited Destin Hot Yoga for the first time. I have been recovering from a brain injury and this was my first time back to yoga in 3 years. I can not express in words the gentle calmness this small studio offers you the moment you walk in, I have never experienced it, to this magnitude, anywhere else. The teachers are giving in their practice, which filled me with such peace. I am so thankful to have found my love of yoga again. I can't say enough good things about this studio. I'd never tried hot yoga, and it has been 10 years since I did any sort of yoga at all. I have Osteo Arthitis all over from heredity, and the wear and tear of my military career. There were days when I could not even turn a doorknob or open a jar without extreme pain. The pain in my hip was getting so bad I was going for injections every 60 days. I could not sleep more than 2 or 3 hours without waking up from back pain. I spent $1000 on a new mattress that made no difference. Then I decided to try yoga. I didn't want hot yoga, but this was the only studio that fit my schedule and commute. I am so glad that it worked out this way. I'm not flexible, and my size prevents me from getting into the more advanced poses, but the instructors provide modifications, and never shame me for just deciding to sit a flow or two out. While I really wish they offered a beginners class, you can go as easy as you need to without being called out. Have I found inner peace? No. But am I a more relaxed person? Also no. However, I am able to sleep 8 hours a night, and that is making a tremendous positive impact on my life. There is no back pain. I haven't scheduled my next injection, because I don't need one. My hip pain is diminished and I can go for long walks, which are good for my mental wellbeing, as well as for my health. My whole body feels better. My attitude is more calm at work and with my family because of this. I am still fat and inflexible, but I'm working on it. read more

My wife and I have visited yoga studios all across the country and found Stephanie and the staff at Destin Hot yoga to provide an inviting atmosphere; the classes are as described, and the facility is simple but well maintained. The heat and humidity levels are well controlled allowing for a productive yoga practice. We visit there every time we are in the Destin-Miramar area. The only suggestion is to modify how Yelp sorts this business, it was difficult to find it on Yelp read more

This was a great workout with the exception of the instructor. I had never done hot yoga before and was under the impression that I signed up for a beginner-level class (and it was). The instructor was very judgmental and rude. When I was having issues with one of the poses she attempted to adjust my body but then scoffed and laughed and walked away. She did this several times. If my friends weren't also in the room with me I would have gotten up and left. I would try this again but at a different business. The attitude and humiliation I experienced were enough to keep me from ever going back to this place. read more

Was in Destin for work and found this neat studio. They offered a week deal, and I tried to go as often as I could. They offer the Barkan method of Yoga, which I found was more pleasant than Bikram. Challenging, yet relaxing. Great atmosphere. read more

I've been practicing yoga for about 3 years and have been to plenty of studios. This one is certainly not going to be one that I return to when I vacation in Destin. I walk into the studio and am greeted by the smell of sweat from the last class and a very unpleasant scent of incense. Not only is this smell in the lobby but in the studio as well. I came in for a yin class and got what I would consider to be more Hatha. Very little attention was given to me, the visitor, as compared to what I assume the regulars are. Not that I minded, but I figure you should probably give each client the same care. Teaching instruction were very unclear to me as well as other students around me. Since yin is only offered once a week maybe they just are really sure how to cue for that as compared to their hot and power classes. I can say nothing for those classes because I do not care to return. read more

I practiced Vinyasa Hot Yoga with Vanessa this morning and it was awesome. She gave modifications for people who needed it and a nice mix of strength and balance asanas. The music was relaxing as well as the cool lavender towels at the end. I will definitely practice here again when I'm in town! read more

The instructors are very talented and I always have an amazing work out that includes a spiritual component that I can only get through a hot yoga practice. I loved this studio! I am a yoga teacher and seasoned practitioner in Austin TX (we are here on vaca) so I can't seem to help being PIIIIICKY when it comes to yoga. I took the all levels class which was wonderful. The heat was perfect for me (I would guess about 96 degrees?) and the pace was great (challenging in a good way but not too fast where I couldn't match my breath to movement). The teacher was fantastic and offered a lot of modifications & amplifications for all students to feel comfortable or challenged (depending on where they were in their practice). The style was a nice flow (vinyasa) with some Bikram thrown in here or there. It was a perfect mix. It's a nice cozy space & everyone was really friendly. read more

All of the classes are great and I love that even though I'm a beginner I never feel like I'm falling behind because all of the teachers are so great at giving recommendations and modifications to make it easier/harder depending on what you need. I was in Destin this week for vacation and decided to stop here for a hot yoga class. I took a class taught by Angel and it was wonderful. She will correct your posture throughout the class so you can get the most out of each yoga position, which was great for me since I'm a beginner. Her voice was calm and soothing and her music selection excellent. I will definitely stop by here again if I'm ever in Destin. read more

Although I've been practicing yoga for 18 years I've only been to two hot yoga classes in my life, both of which were at Destin Hot Yoga. While hot yoga isn't really "my thing", this is a great studio for hot yoga enthusiasts. It's clean and both instructors I had were great. Indeed, a five start review and rating for Destin Hot Yoga. We live on the road full time and travel the roads of the USA. It is great to be able to find a yoga studio in every city that we travel to. There are many things I loved about my one-week unlimited pass to try out Destin Hot Yoga (if you are local - they allow a great one week introductory rate at half the coast - if you are local and thinking of trying yoga, do NOT miss this opportunity). The studio is in a great location. I give this studio five stars for many reasons - three of which I'll highlight in this review. Schedule: I enjoyed yoga twice a day during my 7 day trial period. The great thing about Destin Hot Yoga is they have offerings starting as early as 6AM (a one hour power yoga), mid-morning, lunch, afternoon and two evening classes! If you can't find a time by looking at their schedule, well, I'd be hard pressed to believe you'd be able to find a time anywhere. Depth and Knowledge of Yoga Teachers: I love the fact that Destin Hot Yoga does NOT indicate who is teaching a class at certain times. As a person of habit - I have a natural tendency to go back to an instructor whom I liked during a class (this may not apply to locals as you'll likely figure out who teaches at each time). But, for me, I was able to experience the variation of teachings from many of the teachers. Destin Hot Yoga has a well versed and studied group of teachers - I liked that they called the poses by there Sanskrit name and also a version that any lay person could recognize. The teachers (all of them) were hands on with adjustments at just the right level of need based upon student needs. The instruction provided through verbal queue was on point and easy to follow. I attended a class with a woman whom was taking her very first yoga class and she was able to follow every pose throughout the class - this due to the highly qualified and skilled teachers at Destin Hot Yoga. The MUSIC selection of every teacher that I practiced was in the range of what I would call - SHOULD BE A TOP 10 playlist in yoga studios across the country. I wanted to grab all of the playlists. As if all of this wasn't good enough - the cold towels with essential oils at the end of each hot yoga practice is like the cherry on top of a freshly made sundae! Last but not least, the owner's of the studio were on site every time I visited the studio and I had several opportunities to practice and converse with each of them. I got a strong sense that they really are building community and listening to the people who frequent the studio by offering different time options (see first point on schedule - a BIG ONE FOR BUSY people), loads of great workshops (this makes me sad that I'll be long gone when some of them are happening) and they are starting a COMMUNITY CLASS for 5 DOLLARS so that yoga is available to ANYONE. For all the reasons above, if you are local and want to try out Destin Hot Yoga - here a first insight into someone who just spent seven days (twice a day) doing Yoga with some of Destins' FINEST. If I were local - this would become my local yoga watering hole. Namaste! read more
