Sean was fantastic! He called me very soon after I emailed an inquiry. He was very accommodating, as we weren't exactly sure which wineries we wanted to visit until the day of our tour. He was great about confirming a day or two before and was just very easy to reach and pleasant to deal with. The day of our tour he arrived a few minutes early, which was great. He was super professional and knowledgeable, able to answer questions about the area in general and about specific wineries. He offered us cold water and tried to always park the car in the shade on a hot day. I surprised my wife with a trip to Paso Robles this past weekend to celebrate her 40th birthday. It was our first time visiting the area, and we wanted to tour some of the wineries and do some tasting. I searched for wine tours online, but because I was trying to book something last minute on a Saturday, couldn't find one that would work for us. I found Destination Drivers on Yelp and decided to give them a call based on the good reviews they received. The gentleman I spoke with over the phone was very helpful and said he would make some calls to find us a driver for the hours we wanted. Our driver, Michael, showed up on time at our hotel and drove us around several wineries on the west side of Paso Robles. He was very polite and professional, and we had a great time. In fact, we initially planned on hiring a driver for only four hours, but we were having such a great time that we ended up riding around with Michael for almost six hours. I was nervous about having someone else drive my car, but after this weekend, I'm happy to do it again. Our driver this past weekend was Pat. He's knowledgeable about the area and drove my car with care. To top it off, we got cookies! You'll have to request Pat next time in town for the secret recipe. We drove ourselves the next day and missed having someone who knew where the vineyards were, along with a little history about the area. He also carried our packages, dropped us off at the front entrance of each winery, and took photos of us at each stop. I would highly recommend this service! This was perfect for our couples wine trip. We stayed in Santa Barbara and spent 2 days in wine country (Foxen Canyon Road, Los Olivos, Buellton, and Lompoc). Sean was our driver, very friendly, always had a bottled water waiting for us in the car, and brought this delicious salted bread (Yum!), cheese, meat, and snacks for us between wineries. Since there were 4 of us, we had rented a large SUV from Enterprise and to add Sean on to our contract was super easy and no fuss -- he went to Enterprise the day before and used my rental number to add himself on, I just had to call to verify. For just $35 per hour (we used about 8 hours each day) it was well worth it, especially since we had particular wineries and tasting rooms we wanted to visit and our plans changed as the day progressed. A lot of the wine tour companies were $125 per person and only visited certain wineries, which wasn't what we wanted. We will definitely be using them again and will recommend them to any of our friends visiting Santa Barbara or Paso Robles! Thank you! read more

They even helped us get situated once at the wineries to be sure the hostess had our reservations correct, etc. it was great having locals take you around. The roads in Paso are a little crazy sometimes and our group of 12 was glad we had competent drivers. Highly recommend. Not much service in the area. What a brilliant idea and great experience! Drove up to Paso Robles for the Labor Day weekend and we all know in wine country no one wants to drive. This is where destination drivers comes in. For just 35/hr you get a driver who will come to your hotel and meet you then drive you to all the vineyards your heart desires. We were lucky enough to have Baxtor driving us for the day and he was awesome. Not only did he take us to the places that were on our list, he drove us to places we never would have known of based on our tasting preferences. I can honestly say that some of our favorites happened to be ones that he took us to and recommended. While driving, Baxtor also taught us about the region and how wine was developed. He was full of knowledge about the area and gave us histories on the vineyards as well. Too top all of this off, the dude gave us some of the best cheeses, salamis and salt crusted bread to indulge in as we drank. He also went above and beyond by playing with my dog at some vineyards while I went in to get my drink on (what a great dog owner I am). Hiring destination drivers means getting someone with inside knowledge, someone who has connections at the vineyards to help you bypass crowds, someone who will take all the pictures you may want and who feeds you! I can understand now why some rich people buy friends; it's cause those friends are just the best to have! All kidding aside, we were able to visit 11 vineyards (our goal was 5) and that's only possible because we had someone who knew the area, who knew their wines and who started to know us. This review is from the stand point of a tasting room attendent at a local winery. I would have to say that Sean and his company are top notch. When ever Destination Drivers guests are coming into the tasting room they seem to always be having the best time. The drivers always pull the vehical up to the front door, open the door for there guest and escourt them to the bar and introduce them to us. This is great for alot of reasons but most importantly it gives us the oppertunity to give the best customer service possible to you, the customer. Alot of times, DD (destination drivers) will call us up ahead of time and let us know you are coming that way we can set up a private or semi private tasting as well as take you on a tour or the vineyards or barrel room. After speaking with different companies who offer drivers to take you around the wide selection of the best wineries in California, I felt the most comfortable with Destination Drivers. Why? First, Sean was polite, spoke clearly to me on the phone and repeated back to me exactly what I was asking for. Best and safest idea ever! $35 bucks an hour for this service and 11 wine Tastings in about 5 or so hours. Meh I dunno how long it took, the day was a blur. But from what I do remember, hit more vineyards than we expected, didn't need a map, didn't have to wait in lines and got primo wine tasting tables and service everywhere we went. Everyone in town knew our driver Baxtor so we were treated well. Not only did we have an excellent driver, we had a tour guide that gave us the ins and outs as well as some history on Paso.
