Pair the tasting with all the stories behind the winery, and it's easily one of the more interesting experiences in Paso. The staff is also incredibly friendly and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The patio is a beautiful spot to taste, and if you're there later in the day, the sunset views are hard to beat. Definitely do the free cave tour while you're there. It's one of the coolest winery tours I've been on. The caves are a massive labyrinth carved into the hillside and naturally stay around 55 degrees year round, which is where they age a lot of their wine before bottling. Even if you've been to a lot of wineries, this is something a little different. At the time I'm writing this, tastings are still complimentary, which is almost unheard of these days. If you go, do them a favor and leave with a bottle or two. That's how places like this are able to keep offering experiences like this, and honestly, you'll probably want to take some wine home anyway.

Since it's more of boutique, the bottles are quite pricey, mostly ranging near the 100s. But it was our favorite the whole weekend we went there. And we bought 6 bottles. We loved the spell and got 3 bottles of that! It's a Syrah cab blend. Has the Paso flavor that we love. It's not a vineyard, just a tasting room but worth a visit. We met the wine maker too. Friendly and attentive service. Can't wait to pop open a bottle at home soon!

We are the type of members who always take great care of the staff and rarely leave without purchasing extra bottles, yet today we were treated like an inconvenience. Despite being told in the past that spontaneous visits were no problem for members, we were turned away on a gloomy Monday with plenty of open tables. The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. It feels as though they now prioritize "closing" new members over honoring the people who have supported them for years. They've gone mainstream and lost the personal touch that made them special.

A small bummer at the start was that we arrived before opening at 12PM and were waiting outside with several other guests. Someone unlocked the door, but no one let us know we could come in. About 4 minutes after 12, I tried the door and realized it was unlocked, though none of us had heard or seen it open. Not a huge deal, but a quick welcome would have been nice. After that, everything was fantastic. I love that Justin offers this tasting room separate from their main winery, which is several miles away. Having a location right in the downtown Paso Robles square is so convenient, especially being surrounded by shops and restaurants. I also really loved the setup with tables to sit at versus standing at a bar. They offer wine by the glass as well as different tasting flight options, and they also serve small bites. We heard there are different menus depending on the day, which is a nice touch. Our server greeted us quickly, brought water right away, and got our first tasting to us fast. She was very knowledgeable about the wines and did an excellent job explaining each one. Since we were in a bit of a hurry to catch a flight, she kindly brought all of our tastings out at once, clearly labeled, walked us through them, and let us enjoy at our own pace. We really appreciated that. Wish we had more time here. Highly recommend. Also, if you join their wine club, your tastings are complimentary, which is a great perk!

The 1954 Jeep tour took us throughout the vineyard where we saw the vines up close and so many deer. Brian educated us on the wine process. He walked us through the family history as well as the history of the vineyard. Wines were great! We bought several bottles of The Crash wine. There's a good story that goes with that name and no - it's not about the Jeep. Outside the tasting room is a nice covered patio. This was our last and one of our best stops in Paso.

She treated us kindly and didn't rush us at all. I have a newborn and a toddler, and both were welcome inside and at the bar (we stood). She let us try most everything and we ended up with almost a case of bottles. As someone who works in the industry, I so appreciate the excellent customer service. Tobin had all the funky 90s charm one wants. Their wine was not bad! I especially liked the rock n roll Syrah. The classic Zin (what they're known for) is quite jammy so keep that in mind. Her humor and conversation really made the time fly by. For tastings, I loved that you get to select your choice of 5 wines from their large selection.
