First, The music was WAY too loud. Like club level loud at 11:30 on a Wednesday morning. We asked them to turn it down (politely) and they barely turned down a notch if at all. We could barely hear ourselves talk without shouting at each other. The waitress was nice enough though. Polite and took our orders quickly. Food came out pretty fast and was fresh. The stand out in my meal were the freshly made tortillas (highly recommend) and the pastor taco I had. The tacos and the salsa are definitely worth coming back for (that's what gets the three stars.) if the rest of the food was at this tacos level this would have been a 4 star review easily. However, the carne asada left a lot to be desired. It was very dry and overcooked and THINLY sliced and not well seasoned. It would be worth it for Desvelados to use skirt steak instead of the paper thin slice of beef they are calling carne asada. It'll be worth the extra cost and I know the customer (myself included) would be happy to pay a little more for a higher quality, better flavored and better cooked piece of meat. The rice was also undercooked, but just barely. It was not soft and fluffy but slightly still hard and dry. Flavor was good though. Texture was not. Also, yall gotta do complimentary chips and salsa. This would be my fourth time coming to this location. The food is alway so delicious, cooked to perfection. Always leave satisfied. Only downer is that the service gets worse Every-time. For the way they promote this restaurant on social media I would definitely love to see more servers. I don't think it's fair for one employee to run the entire restaurant alone and for the customers to wait over an hour for food. Food is great but service definitely needs improvement. read more

I love tacos- I've lived in Los Angeles for over 10 years and there is a high bar for Mexican food. I have to say, this place slapssssss hard. I drive out of my way to come to this part of town for this place. To be honest, I probably wouldn't ever come to this part of Los Angeles proper so I get why people could be skeptical but trust me.... Worth it. I tried there regular street tacos, wanted to see if meat had flavor, I tried 3 basic tacos asada, alpastor lengua. They lacked flavor and that's with me putting lime and salt. Two things that were good were the asada and al pastor guacamole appetizers. The place is side looks very chill they have music playing walls have old school singers and comedians. The carnitas was pretty dry and plain but all the sauces on the outside gave it more flavor. The cheese sauce was not the greatest in my opinion. Kind of like a nacho sauce.
