My first time coming to this place since my son music classes are close by. I usually go to Lupe's or a restaurant close by but Boyle Heights Bar is now my go to place to come. I wish I could have taken a picture of the shrimp ceviche. It was really good. I had two Palomas (watermelon and wild cherry) those were awesome to. Jasmine was the bartender and she was super cool. Boyle Heights best bar hands down. Family owned and operated. Super friendly staff and vibrant decor. Dj and live music on most weekends. Came in to watch sports. Shared nachos and mini burgers. The mini burgers are absolutely delicious! Well cooked and seasoned patty to go along with a Hawaiian roll. We shared 6 of them. Highly recommended. Also shared nachos and pretzels. Not complaints. We came here after I ran a marathon after searching around for a place open on a Sunday night that served burgers. This place did NOT disappoint. It is a fun neighborhood spot, family owned. The vibe inside was fun, and there was karaoke going on. The singers were entertaining to say the list. The service was amazing and the food even better. I had the burger with fries cooked to perfection and the flavor was amazing. My husband had the chicken flautas which were on special. The mural attracted us and so we gave it a chance , my mom & I had the cóctel de Camarón , my aunt had the tacos de papa , my cousin had the flautas and we tried a taco de chicharrón. Ever since moving back to Montebello I came across this bar (which is also a RESTAURANT). You can easily pass by not thinking of it much from the outside but glad I took the time to look at the pics here of the place and furthermore drive out to check it out. The place is an absolute gem in Boyle Heights. Inside is always clean filled with regulars/locals that are welcoming to all. The staff is great and owner is always on sight keeping everything in order. (I recommend sharing the nachos, they're tasty and plentiful) -- Manager was friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, several of the beers listed (and wanted) weren't available.
