First time it was a really good and relaxed experience which I prefer. The second time I went here it was crowded and noisy with many families and children lying about on the floor since the queue for the cash register is very close to the tables. The acoustics in here doesn't help and it becomes it is hard to have a conversation when it is this busy. So i guess it is a mixed bag, on any other day but the day mentioned above (lunch time Saturday) I would recommend it.They have a nice interior and you can buy all kinds of ecological beverages, bread and wines to go and they do offer both lactose free milk and soy milk.

But nevertheless, here it goes: Ulrik and I were out strolling about when he said he really wanted a roast pork sandwich - and the first place popping into mind was Meyer's! Way to go sealing that trade mark :-) Anyway, we were close to the Gammel Kongevej branch and although this is one of the least cosy ones, they still serve a mean pork roast sandwich, so what the heck - we gave it a go. We came in and the place was as noisy and soulless as ever, but we had our eyes fixed on the prize. After ordering drinks, the first thing that went wrong was discovering that the roast pork sandwich is only a lunch menu option - seriously, guys: this is why customers come from near and far - make it an all-day-offer! Anyway, slightly disappointed Ulrik chose the second best, a good old Danish favourite, roast pork with parsley sauce and new Danish potatoes, while I convinced the waiter to serve me two portions of the kids plate, the filet of plaice with rye bread and remoulade, to make up a grownup size (how many kids actually eat this anyway?). To finish it off with something, we ordered one of the caramelized pretzels to go. Verdict: The roast pork was great, crispy, full of flavour and just beautiful; the plaice was slightly less good, a bit wobbly rather than crisp and lacked a bit of taste but still quite decent; and the pretzel was quite the disappointment, tasting old, rubbery and crisp and all together really odd so that went in the trash. The service was spot on, great guy - you just want to hug him. So why only the 3 stars? - I really don't like the place. It's such a crying out shame that you feel you're sitting on the main track at the train station trying to talk through the din and noise. It's often a lot of people outisde, and it's a nice neighbourhood. The food however, is not good at all. You can buy four dishes for take away. When I tried it, the rice in one of the dishes was so overcooked that I couldn't eat it. I tried the other dishes, a wok with vegetables, and all the vegetables in the dish where the one you buy really cheap frozen in the supermarket. It was just really bad. After that I haven't bought food there anymore, and several of my friends have had the same experience. So, it's okey for wine and coffee outside, but not for food.

Super convenient. Claus Meyer, owner proprietor of MB is co-founder of Noma. Here, you get to sample a bread master's work: he provides modern Danish pastries, THE uniquely crunchy(outside)/soft(inside) breads, and rolls from seeded, multi grain to plain. This location is also a deli so, you can have sandwiches too!! I haven't tried the burgers yet but I will someday. I've never tired of the breads here. I crave them to this day months after leaving Copenhagen. The breads are beautifully baked, the colors of the crust go more in hues of dark brown to grey, burnt in some places, so stunning looking, you can't help but think that baking traditions rooted in ancient Scandinavian bread making practices is what makes these products so incredibly delicious and desirable. The result--unique crispness of the crust and texture. And the dough inside has a chew to it and there's little air pockets as opposed to large holes in breads that are popular these days.. I LOVE this bread. No breads I've had in the U.S. and many bakeries I've tried in France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Holland compare to the bread here... It's no wonder there's a line almost every day I've visited. And let me not get started with the butter. I love Danish butter and bread here. I'd put a 3/4" thick slice of butter (yep, the thicker the more profound the flavor) with the bread here; you close your eyes, and savor the crust and dough melding with the thick slice of butter. Genius. This experience cannot be duplicated anywhere else. The Danish pastries here are 2die4, I've had them everyday of my visit, I LOVE them ALL. Get to any of Meyers 5-6 locations all over Copenhagen as soon as you arrive. I swear to you you will fall deeply head over heels in love. And I realize I never wrote a review for it on Yelp! What was I thinking?! So I go find the page, and I see 2.5 very sad stars. TWO AND A HALF STARS!!! You guys I am SHOCKED and APPALLED at the reviews on here. What gives? I refuse to believe I came here on an off day when everything was perfect, so I stand by my recommendation to all looking for a delicious burger that you absolutely must try theirs. They make their own ketchup and mayo using vinegar from their own little happy island. And the meat is organic (and probably grassfed, TBC). Yeah, I know you're eating in the basement of a department store, so not exactly the hyg'ligste (yes I know that's not really a word) place on earth, but a good lunch/dinner option if you're going to hit up the Christmas markets on Nyhavn in December (paired with some of their super sweet apple gløgg), or take your visiting friends for a canal cruise or something. Pro-tip: eat the burger AFTER you try on all the clothes you want to buy upstairs. ;)
