We stopped here for dinner last night after walking around Freetown and wanting something warm and filling because the weather was in and out with a light drizzle. We ordered the chicken congee (plus hoison chicken) and a mushroom barley risotto along with their Snickers waffle for dessert because why not. Even though we were virtually the only people in the cafe, the food took a pretty long time to come out. Both of the savory dishes were incredible. The congee was so saltily wonderful and we loved all the toppings (except the excessive amount of peanuts). The dish was rich, but all the veggies cut through everything--so good. The ristotto was equally impressive because the mushroom flavor really popped in the broth they used, and the rest of the accouterments of cheese, sautéed mushrooms, etc, on top really sung. A winner. As for the waffle, what's not to like? A solid preparation with chocolate and peanut sauces drenched on top. No complaints. We thought the total tab was a bit high for what we got, but this is Denmark, so we're getting used to the elevated pricing. We wouldn't say that Grod is worth going out of the way for, but it's a very fine meal if the craving strikes and you happen to be in the area. Four stars, and not a bad start to our trip.

We were seated and didn't receive the menu for 15minutes (they weren't particularly busy). We waited another 15 minutes and no waiter came, despite the fact that the waiter passed by our table several times (and I signaled we were ready to order). We finally decided to leave. Cafe G was so inviting with its covered outdoor seating and view of the courtyard, we couldn't resist except to try. The food was very good though not the most superior. You can see the items from the photos but two of us shared two brunch dishes: the Smorrebrods plate and the Tapas plate. It was a lot of food! Really too much for two of us. Loved every item in the Tapas plate, from the prawns to the Brie to the steak. Smorrebrods are new to me and they are interesting but not my thing. The breads in particular are thick and not moist to me. And of course, pair the lunch with the famous Aperol Spritz! They were a little pushy gearing is in their space and seated, and really rushed us through ordering. I asked if this was too much for two people and he quickly said no. I suppose making a larger sale was very important to him. These meals were each about $30 USD. And it took quite some time for the food to come out as well. But we enjoyed the meal, the vibe, and the people watching!

I found this place thanks to Yelp…read more I took my small Yelp team (4ppl) to give it to try. I'm writing a review on behalf whole team. Place was surprisingly smaller than I tought. Anyway, nice simple design with some nice small details. We went there about 10. We ordered breakfast. All together we tried to order every single item from the breakfast (brunch) menu. Basically all items were very tasty and original. I loved the Matcha bowl (Matcha is a special green tea powder and here it was mixed with puréed avocado, banana, cashew milk and vanilla). Really unique. I'm always on the hunt for something unique and I found it in here. Added value in my perspective! So I recommend that you should definitely try that. I would like to mention also the healthy apple cake, which is not really apple cake at all, but it tasted excellent and I'm happy they didn't use too much sweetener. For a drink, we all ordered a flat white coffee. It was perfectly done and they add little art on the top. 4 coffees, 4 perfect hearts. It show a confident barista hand. Speaking about service- all servers were all very friendly, efficient and they perfectly knew their product. That's the key of success. Djuus is one of those "healthy" cafe that focus on JUICE. Well, you know that already. They sell their own freshly pressed juice that taste really good. They do have juice-diet for you as well if you want to try the "going about your day without meal but only juice" kind of thing. They apparently do brunch as well. My friend and I chose the rye bread sandwich despite my initial interest of choosing the brunch menu (it was still available at that time) because rye sandwich would make you feel full better, the staff said - Okay, so she says. My rye bread sandwich was with tuna, it was good but it's not like something that I couldn't make myself at home (okay, maybe I wouldn't have any rye bread at home anyway), but nothing fantastic. The juice on the other hand was fantastic, so they did live up to their name, being juice pusher. Service was super friendly, so that also counts. It's one of those nice cozy cafe, but I wouldn't come here for lunch. This big bottomless pit of a stomach needs something more than just rye bread sandwich!

I was very happy with the quality of good as well. Cannot complain at all. The staff here was very attentive & everytime we were out of bread or water it was refilled immediately. Also they paid attention to the tiniest of details which is rare but really good to see. Why did I even consider three? - It's a trendy place so there were lots and lots of people there when we tried our brunch there on a Sunday morning. Although we didn't have to wait long for our table, online table booking would have been more convenient. Seriously, what's up with these brunch places - you can be strict and say you would hold table for 15 minutes only and I am sure people would appreciate that. - Noise level was absolutely bad, see #1. It's a big open place inside and since there were lots of people and they were all talking, we could hardly have a conversation inside, let alone hygge, but fortunately the food was good enough of a distraction - Super greasy bacon. Seriously, if you claim to be a brunch place, do your bacon right. I like the smokey flavour but the shit was literally dripping with oil. Kinda disgusting to pick up from the plate and now for the positive sides: I love that there are more and more brunch places with this concept where you mix and match your own stuff. All the stuff they had in their menu (would like to try the asparagus but they didn't have that!) sounded so scrumptious that we felt like we had to try it all and we did (almost all). My personal favourites would be the soft-boiled egg and the waffle, although Mina K also swore by the sunny side up egg (spejlæg). The item that I was looking forward the most (avocado) turned out to be a big disappointment. More flavour please. Although there were so many people on that day, the service was very prompt and efficient, we got our table relatively fast considering that there were 6 names ahead of us and the food came quick too. My cortado was delicious although it was somewhat weak. All in all, service was quick and painless. I might want to try this place again on a not weekend morning, or maybe later in the afternoon when there's more relaxed atmosphere around this place. Sunday morning brunch gave us bad vibes since they were a lot of people waiting to get their brunch and the stressed out waiters and waitresses didn't help. Four for now and I really hate to degrade my review. I hope it never will come to that.

The concept is that you recieve the menu, which is a piece of paper listing all the things the place have to offer, and a pencil. You do not order to the waiter, but fill out the paper sheet by crossing off on the menu what you and your table desire, so in summary you actually design your own menu. The place offers a lot of different things, but mostly the place is for breakfast/ brunch and maybe lunch.. They offer different style eggs, sausages, youghurt, müsli, fruit etc., and each little dish cost between 20-50 kr.. The food is served in these little ceramic, stylish plates. I would recommend their poached egg, the avocado, grape fruit and their delicious coffee. I am very found of the place and it is worth a visit. One advice is to come early during the weekend, or make reservations, because the place is packed.

While it was ok, it wasn't great. We got a prosciutto sandwich on ciabatta bread. The bread was good - chewy and dense, but it wasn't a sandwich at all. We literally had two thin and small slices of meat on the bread with a few pieces of arugula, not very much oil or seasoning. I love a good sandwich but this was all bread and a little bit of meat which left you thinking "what the heck? did we just buy some bread?"
