I'm looking for hand wash so I call and the person who answers says "Oh just bring it by, if it's not a detail you can just pull up" So I pull up. The guy then says "Oh you need an appointment" I said oh the guy just called said I didn't need an appointment to pull up.. then he says " oh, that was me." Then he tells me to wait and says he probably won't have time for it today if I can come back tomorrow. So I said what time? Then he says 12. I said how long does it take? He said 45- 1 hr. I said OK that works if I can get out because I have a doctor appointment at 1:20pm. Then he said " oh, just bring it by after" so I said what time? Then he says " or maybe on Saturday" I'm like huh?? I said I'm trying to get a car wash today or tomorrow then he says " oh, you can just go McKinley then." I'm not usually a complainer, but the whole interaction was just so irritating and the person I was interacting with just gave off IDGAF vibes, puffing on his vape and then just telling me to go somewhere else. Bummers because location wise they were convenient and if service was good I would have been a repeat customer.

This place is great! I had been a die-hard McKinley's girl forever, but since my new car has…read moreceramic coating it's recommended to use touch-less washes, so here we are! Great location (just a few blocks from McKinleys) on Ward, on the side street across Ward from the Patagonia store. The lot is small, only fits 4 or 5 cars in driveway - but I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get started. (I used the time to gather up all my junk so they could thoroughly clean the interior). Service absolutely is fantastic. You drive yourself into the washing bay under the direction of the service guy. Then you back out and park under the sunshades so the team can hand dry the exterior and all door jams, AND then thoroughly vacuum out the interior. They ask you to step out at sit at provided table (under shade) or pay for service while they're doing all that. There's a service charge for using credit card that is waived if you pay cash. (SUV $29+tax) A tip box is provided on the wall - fill that baby up because these folks are so deserving! Bottom line - excellent service, location, price, and so quick and easy!

My sister and I went out today and I said I need to check Yelp for a nearby car wash. Lo and behold, this Texaco car wash place popped up. I read a few reviews and I decided to try it out. There was about four cars ahead of me. The reviews warned us about the wait time. There is wait that depends on the type of car wash package you select. I estimated @10-15 minutes per car. I didn't know where to pay and I asked my sister to run into the convenience store to check if I needed to pay first. You can pay inside and you will receive a receipt with a code that you enter into a machine that is located near the entrance of the car wash. Or you can pay at the machine as well. Your choice. Pay attention to the instructions and lighted signs! It will guide you into the automatic car wash with ease. It's pretty loud inside so be prepared! Pricing is really great at $10 for the basic- Deluxe Wash, $14 for the premium wash, $17 for the ultimate wash, and $20 for Ceramic shine. See photo for more information. It's an automatic car wash , so be prepared to wipe down your car with a towel after you exit and find a place to park. The dryer doesn't get every spot. If you want air for your tires, vacuum, or water, it will cost you. Bring your coins. Appeared that some features are broken. Overall, a good experience for my old and now cleaned up car!

Sometimes there's a guy that knows you want to use the car wash but he goes really fast, parks his car right outside the wash, takes his sweet time to walk and talk to the people in the booth. Then he slowly walks to the car, waits for I dunno - a few minutes. Then slowly goes in. When his wash is finished, he waits until the entire car was turns off then he slowly moves out. All of this before 6am in the morning. Good morning to all! But then it's my turn. I pay $20, get the ceramic coating etc... etc... and in the end, they fix the problem with the car ripping off my back wiper. They fixed it! Because it didn't wash half of the back of my car. Oh well..... So..... would you take this car wash which is the closest to your house? OR drive to Waipio for a 1 min 48 sec car wash for the same price? Choices.......

I've brought two different cars here, and both experiences have been excellent. Every employee who worked on my vehicles was incredibly diligent and paid close attention to the details. They clearly take pride in their work, and it shows in the final result. The prices are fair, the quality is consistently great, and I've always left impressed with how clean my cars looked. My only wish is that they would open a second location on the windward side. I'd be a regular customer if they were closer!

Some places stop being businesses and quietly become part of a city. McKinley Car Wash is one of…read morethose places. I've been coming here on and off for almost thirty years. Every trip back to Hawaii somehow includes a stop here, usually in one of my parents' cars, waiting in line with everyone else while the smell of soap mixes with hot asphalt and exhaust. It's oddly nostalgic. The system works, but it definitely assumes you've been here before. When you pull up, the menu isn't really explained. You're asked a few quick questions about tires, vacuuming or upgrades and before you know it you're being waved forward. If you're trying to understand the difference between services or whether a detail is worth it, don't expect much guidance. The actual wash was good, especially for the price. Coming from Los Angeles, where a proper wash and detail can easily cost well over $100, it's hard to complain. Just don't expect perfection. The interior looked much better, but there was still sand hiding under the kids' car seats and a few corners that were easy to miss. If you have children, prepare yourself for the awkward dance of unloading everyone while deciding whether to let someone else drive your car through the wash. One thing I would recommend. Tip the crew. They work incredibly hard in the Hawaii heat, moving nonstop from one car to the next. No, it isn't a concours level detail. But for a long standing neighborhood institution that gets you in, gets you out and leaves your car noticeably cleaner without emptying your wallet, it's still easy to understand why locals keep coming back.

NEWEST UPDATE: Aloha folks -- i've updated my review as…read morethere has been some progress. Greg reached out to me explaining that based on the video I sent, it appeared that the ceramic coating was working, but not how it should be. He asked if I could bring the vehicle in so that his team could wash it, and verify this in person. We agreed that I would drop my vehicle off on Friday. This will allow for a pickup on Saturday. Upon drop off, his guys, Zane and Kato accepted the vehicle and tested the ceramic. Right away, Zane said that it wasn't reacting correctly. I left my keys with them and was told that the vehicle would be ready for pickup the following day and I would be notified by call or text. Saturday -- Premiere is open until 6pm. Once 5pm came around I was admittedly starting to get a little bit nervous seeing as how I needed my car for work on Monday, and I knew they were closed on Sunday. I attempted to call and received no response. Living closeby, I just decided to head over. I got there about 540pm. Greg was there detailing the interior of a car. He had plenty of vehicles to take care of. He was friendly and apologized for the lack of communication, citing that he was swamped with the influx of vehicles. He explained that my car was "done" but that he, himself, had taken issue with it. When we approached my car, it was clear that work had been done. But upon closer inspection, there were water spots on my glass and streak marks on areas, exacerbated by the light from his cell phone flashlight. He was able to quickly wipe some of them off. He again apologized and said that he didn't like the work that was done and asked if he could keep my vehicle until Tuesday so that it could be completely redone. This I respect. Alot. For a boss to take ownership of their work and the work of their employees goes a long way. I left it -- picked it up on Tuesday. The car looks fantastic. Here's to waiting it out and see if the ceramic holds this time around. Very glad that I chose the boys at Premiere. Will update in a week :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aloha all! Second time using the boys at Premiere Island Auto Detail. They did an amazing job on my camaro, that I felt it only right to use them for our SUV. My last interactions with Greg (the owner) and his team were nothing short of amazing. He is a personably guy. I reached out to them asking for an interior and exterior detail on my 2023 Mazda CX50. After some back and forth on the services, I ended up changing my service to a "basic" ceramic coating (which includes an exterior detail to prep it) and full interior detail. The price was amazing. Greg takes care of his customers. I wont mention it here as pricing can always change. As a reminder to anyone reading this -- its always a nice gesture to tip them, though, not required. Greg was able to take my car pretty quickly. I made the appointment for a drop off on Saturday. For those of you that don't know, ceramic coatings require a curing time, and therefore, I needed to leave my vehicle overnight. The garage is secure and under surveillance. It is easily accessible in the downtown area. I came back the next morning to pickup my car. It looked stellar! The lighting really makes the cars pop too. The exterior looked brand new (minus water spots that apparently weren't able to be removed from the 3m decals). The interior also looked great. I had some minor pet fur still embedded, but nothing to harp about. I noticed that the trunk space wasn't addressed though. No biggie. Now the reason for my decrease in rating: I want to start off by reiterating that Greg and his team are excellent dudes to work with. They are friendly, fast, and do good work. My Mazda, this time around, just isn't what I expected from them. I haven't been able to get back for the car wash because the weather has been awful -- so its been a little bit of time since the coating. There are some spots where the ceramic is noticeable. Particularly under the side mirrors, you can see the coating is still there and streaked on. The new formula that they used on this "basic" coating, definitely shows a difference. Maybe this coating only included one pass over, i'm not sure, but the beading effect just isn't there. Dirt and grime still clings to the car and it doesn't wash off with water. The roof doesnt appear to have been coated, but I could be wrong. The wheels were not coated. I am unsure if the glass was coated. The trim appears to have been coated but not wiped off properly. Anyway, do I recommend them? Absolutely. I still think they do good work at a great price. However, I would strongly encourage you to ask about their options for ceramic coating and not get a lesser package. Mahalo Premiere

I cannot say enough incredible things about Premier Island Auto Detail and Greg…read more I first met Greg during a very special (and stressful) time in my life--just one week before giving birth. I needed my car to be immaculately clean, and what he delivered completely exceeded every expectation. When I picked up my car, I was honestly in awe. It looked and felt brand new. What truly stood out, though, wasn't just the quality of his work--it was him. My family was with me, and Greg treated all of us with such genuine kindness, respect, and aloha. That moment has stayed with me ever since. He is truly one of those rare, good-hearted people you don't forget. Fast forward to recently--I had what I thought was a total nightmare situation. After a fishing day with my family, squid juice spilled into my car and soaked into the carpet. The smell was awful. No matter what I tried, it wouldn't go away, and I genuinely thought my car was permanently ruined. Of course, I reached out to Greg--and once again, he worked his magic. Not only did he completely remove the odor, but my car now smells (and feels) brand new again. I honestly don't know how he does it, but his attention to detail, work ethic, and level of care are unmatched. Greg is the only person I trust with my car. I recommend Premier Island Auto Detail to everyone--my friends, my clients, my family--because when you find someone this genuine and this talented, you don't keep it to yourself. Thank you infinitely, Greg. Your work and your spirit truly make a difference.
