That said, I am very pleased. You want to use these guys for your project! They have the best vendors. Friendly, hard working and respectful of your home. They all worked seemlessly together. I am confident in their workmanship. Zelmar was very professional as well. The guidance they gave in selection was spot on. Little details we would never notice was very helpful. They did in fact get the job done on time. Does that ever happen? Very impressive!

My favorite things about Zelmar are the straightforward advice, strong vendors, quality materials/workmanship and timely completion. This family-owned business works with you on overall design and materials. Then, they select one of their teams to estimate the plumbing and contracting work as separate estimates. You also order your fixtures and glass directly from recommended vendors. While this sounds complicated, Zelmar kept all the moving parts on schedule. Easy peasy. They gave me solid advice on what could and could not be done. This led me to make smarter design decisions. They recommended a layout which was much better than I originally envisioned. Their plumbing and contracting partners were outstanding. Easy to work with, strong execution, respectful while in my home and cleaned up after themselves. In particular, the attention to detail by Coates Contracting made me a fan. Little things like the placement of tiles so the grain continues, the level surfaces, etc. Home improvement projects can be so stressful, but this one was not. It was on time, on budget and exactly as envisioned. I highly recommend and have already sent a colleague their way.

On June 13, 2025, we signed a contract with them. Work began July 21, 2025. They finished on May 26, 2026. The contract stated that it would take 4 months, possibly 5, to complete the project. It took them 10 months to complete. There was a total of at least 15 weeks (a week being 5 consecutive working days, i.e., Wednesday through Tuesday) where NOTHING was done at the house. Prior to beginning demolition, they required a total of 60% of the contract to be paid. At the end of demolition and rough-in, which took 4 weeks, they required a total of 84% to be paid. Then they wanted payment for the project to be substantially complete and usable prior to the installation of the glass shower walls or the master being usable. That would have been 95% of the contract. The supervising contractor stated that he would not have the shower glass installed until they were paid. I sent his boss a copy of the Florida legal requirements for being substantially complete and usable, and I also hired an attorney. When it came time for the final walkthrough and final payment, they didn't want to provide us with the Affidavit of Contractor's Final Payment, which shows if there are any subcontractors who have released their lien and those that haven't been paid and how much they are owed prior to receiving the final payment, even though we had the right to have it according to our attorney. Then, when we received the document, it was a "waiver and release of lien upon progress payment."

Well after the project started and the things promised were not, it went downhill. They measured incorrectly and the countertops did not fit. They had to cut out the finished drywall in order to fit without redoing the countertops. Now the new appliances do not fit properly. they stick out past the cabinets. The appliance installers (subcontractor) told me this was their first job, and it showed. They had to return to try to make things right. The appliances still do not fit properly. Their subcontractor plumber installed the new kitchen sink, and I had to call S&W to let them know there was water now leaking on our new cabinets. The subcontractor tile installer had to return several times to complete and fix tile issues. I had to call our own plumber because sewage and wastewater was backing up in our new shower and the toilet was overflowing. Our plumber spent several hours removing grout from the new plumbing, because he said the pipe was blocked by grout from the tile installer who installed our new shower tile. When I sent the plumber's invoice to S&W Kitchens, they refused to take any responsibility and said they were not accountable. The new shower glass wobbles and their solution is for us to pay more to try to make it work or remove the glass and pay again for new glass doors. There are a number of other things that were not done properly. I have spent a lot of my time trying to get these things corrected. Their communications is poor at best, unless they were reaching out for a check, then they call or stop by with their hand out. Their lack of accountability, supervision of their subcontractors, and overall quality of workmanship is why we would not recommend S&W Kitchens to anyone.

We looked at some slabs of granite and got a quotation and also got a new sink, backsplash and everything would be included according to our sales person. I asked him about faucets? He mentioned that they do not sell any but I could buy whatever faucet I wanted and that they also would "take care of that" . I also mentioned that the next week I had vacation planned and that It would be greatly appreciated if they could install that week. the sales person consulted with his colleague and mentioned that installation would be possible the second part of that week. We took home the quote to think it over and on Monday morning at 9 AM I went back to Supreme International USA, met with the same sales person that helped me on Saturday. I decided on the granite and he finalized the quote and paid the 50% deposit. On Thursday February 3rd, a gentleman from Supreme International USA came to the house to do the final measurements and he also mentioned that they wouldn't be able to install the sink that we chose because of our cabinets. My wife chose another sink which was $180 cheaper than the one we previously chose and the guy left. On Tuesday February the 8th I called Supreme International USA to see if they had a date for the installation they mentioned most probably on Thursday the 10th. and that they would call. On Thursday afternoon I called Supreme International USA and was assured that they would install on Friday the 11th. On Friday morning at 11Am I received a phone call from Supreme International USA, very apologetic because their truck was in the shop and that they wouldn't be able to install it that day but assured me it would be Saturday the 12th between 9AM and 11AM. On Saturday around 11AM two guys arrived at my house and they installed the granite countertops with the new sink. Once they were done with the granite they took their tools and cleaned up. I asked them about hooking up the sink, faucet and what about the backsplash? The guy mentioned that he only did the countertops and that I should call Supreme International USA and talk to Assam so I did, I asked Assam about the sink, faucet and the backsplash. Assam stated that the plumbing was not included and the backsplash would come later and that he would let me know when. I explained to Assam that I was told by my salesperson that "everything would be taken care of and included." Assam told me that plumbing was never included. I told Assam that I was told differently and that it was Saturday afternoon and I have no water and drainage in my kitchen and that he needed to come up with a solution. Assam raised his voice and told me that this is my problem, not his and that I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO READ ENGLISH!! I assured Assam that my quotation did not say anywhere that plumbing was not included and again several times Assan told me that this is not his problem and again I NEEDED TO LEARN HOW TO READ ENGLISH!! I asked Assam to let me talk to his boss and he passed the phone over to a gentleman by the name of Hassan and he claimed to be the owner. I explained to Hassan what happened and Hassan was very apologetic while I overheard him talking to my salesperson about what he had said to me. The guy even told Hassan that he had never mentioned that the plumbing wasn't included. Hassan and I agreed that he would pay a plumber and that I would pay for the materials and get this solved. Hassan mentioned several times during our conversation that Monday February the 14th my salesperson would contact me to make arrangements to get the plummer out asap and get me a date for the backsplash installation. Unfortunately I did not hear from my salesperson or from Hassan.... I'm absolutely offended that Assam has the audacity to tell me (a client) that I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO READ ENGLISH!! and he raised his voice and was beyond rude to me on the phone. Listen Assam, I speak, read and write 5 languages and English is not my first language. I manage an organisation with several hundred employees and I think that my language skills are just fine. If one of my employees would ever raise his/her voice to a customer or would ever tell anyone that THEY NEED TO LEARN HOW TO READ ENGLISH!! I would fire them in a heartbeat because my customers are too important to me. I always treat people with dignity and respect the way I would like to be treated and that worked pretty good for me. see picture for full review.
