I've lost 40 lbs in the past year, and I truly enjoy every second I spend at Revolve. The instructors challenge you, support you, and push you to become the best version of yourself. I also love that your first ride is free -- it makes getting started so easy. The monthly theme rides keep things fun and fresh, and the post-class emails with your stats are a game changer. Tracking my progress and seeing how far I've come since having my daughter has been one of the most motivating parts of my journey. If you're looking for a place that inspires you, pushes you, and celebrates your wins, Revolve is it.

Selling shirts is a good idea in case you sweat through yours (definitely not speaking from experience at all) and I'm so grateful for the drinks they sell! The lockers are plenty big and the bathroom is spacious for changing if you need to. What I really appreciated was the helpfulness of the employees making sure I was secure on a bike, finding my rhythm and the low lighting of the room. Nobody needs to see me working out. I felt like I could be in my own zone and focus on myself! Very nice atmosphere for a great workout!

Just turn in to the Detroit City Fieldhouse, there's parking in the back and then it's easy to find. They have a little Rebel Cycle sign next to the door and it's on the second floor to the right. I'd never done a cycling class before and I thought it would be okay because I think of myself as being fairly fit, but I definitely struggled - it was really hard! I was able to get through it though and I felt great afterward, though walking up/downstairs was surprisingly hard - be careful when you leave! And they definitely allow for personal accommodations - if you can't turn up the resistance any more, just don't... If you need to slow down for a second when you feel like you can't pedal anymore, then go for it, but they definitely encourage you to keep going! I recommend bringing some water with you - water breaks feel like the briefest most heavenly moments, and if you want a towel you have to bring your own. The classes are kind of expensive so I don't know if I'll be back, but you can sign up on mindbody or their website and buying multi-class packages does make it a little cheaper.

You might just discover the indoor cycling is the cardio love you've been looking for all this time. At least that was the case for me! So far I've only been to Amy's classes, so I can attest that she's a fun, encouraging instructor who leads with humor and a rocking playlist (ok, and a few songs I don't love - but you can't win 'em all and they go fast anyway). I'm looking forward to checking out some of the other instructors too. It's worth starting out with the one-time Foundations class so you can feel confident adjusting the bike and your form. And don't forget water - you'll want to hydrate!

My wife and I both booked a 5:45am class through Class Pass on a Tuesday morning. The class was about 1/2 full. The staff was very friendly and recognized us as first-time guests right when we arrived! They even personalized our free lockers with our names. We got a tour of the building and we're shown how to clip in to the bike, adjust the bike, and what weights were available at our bikes. The personalization and hospitality is absolutely 10/10 from this location. The space is small, but it never felt crowded. It's a bit cold in there, but you warm up eventually. The music was rocking, our instructor Nicole was very motivating, and the workout was intense! I was very impressed with my experience and will likely return for another awesome workout. I'm curious about how fast classes fill up in the afternoon/night though since this is such a great location.

If it is your first time visiting, the front desk team member greets you, shows you around, and helps you get adjusted to your bike. The instructor also came by to introduce herself, which was really nice! Cyclebar has free shoes that you can borrow (or you can bring your own), and plenty of locker space for every person. I believe there were a total of 42 bikes in the studio, and I think it says a lot when probably 75% of them were full at 5:45 am a couple days after Christmas! The instructor, Nicole, was an amazing instructor. She gave you instructions for what speed and heaviness your bike should be at, but never pressured anyone! At the very end, she showed the leaderboard so you could see where you were at compared to the rest of the class (note: you can opt out of being on the leaderboard when you check in), which gave me a lot of motivation at the end! Overall, this was a really great workout! You could make it easier or harder based on your skill level and how hard you wanted to push yourself that day. I'd highly recommend giving Cyclebar a try)

Fuse45 is criminal in their business scheme - taking advantage of clients in the interest of earning an extra dollar. As an unlimited member you are charged $10 for a missed class on top of the $140 you have already paid for a month's worth of sessions. There was actually a morning where I was made to feel "lucky" for not having been charged the $10 for electing not to drive during a snow storm which caused local schools and businesses to close. Furthermore, you WILL be charged TEN days before the month begins with no means of skipping, pausing, or being respected as a person with conflicts on occasion - regardless of whether or not you sign a contract, so I strongly discourage you to provide credit card information as they seemingly do what they choose with it. I authorized a trial month at Fuse45, and when charged for the following month immediately contacted them and merely requested to put the month on hold as I was traveling and could not use the service. When the response was "no, we can't do that, it's against our policy" I immediately contacted my credit card company as 1) I did not authorize the charge and 2) could not be able to make the $140 worth it. At this point I have asked that all subsequent months be canceled as I will not support a business that does not support its clients and their individual needs. It is manipulative and in poor taste to charge customers for services when they have 1) communicated they do not want said service and 2) do not utilize the service.

A new day brings a new set of workouts and class format. Different instructors also help to spice things up! Jerilyn, Joe, Alison - I'm looking at you guys! All of the instructors are knowledgeable, motivating, and really push you to do more. I love the formats of the classes. Each set is 45 seconds which is great for me because I get bored easily. It's helped me to realize that I can do anything for 45 seconds, no matter how hard it is. Since I have been attending classes regularly, I've been feeling much stronger, had more energy, and even decreased pain with a longtime shoulder injury. Not to mention, dropping 10 lbs (along with dietary changes). Even though the workouts are exhausting and take everything out of me, Fuse45 really has become my happy place. If you have been thinking about it, give it a try. Your future self will thank you :)
