In February it'll be 5 years. Love Mike's passion, his way of helping you push yourself. He makes the classes fun, but challenging. The mix of ages of the members, I love! Especially when the younger ones tell me that I'm their role model lol! We are a family and always welcome the new members. I highly recommend Boxing classes and a great balance is to try their yoga classes for balance and flexibility. Barb is a great instructor and helps newcomers with the practice. I can see muscle definition like never before in my legs, it's crazy. The yoga classes are great. I really enjoy the Yin class, it's my hour of mental health each week. My friend got me started on Yoga Basics. It's not necessarily an easy class but rather focuses on the right posture. As someone whose journey to Yoga started at bigger gyms this is really important to me. They take the time to explain the proper positions and if you are off they will tell you how to correct it. (After an IT injury, I've learned the importance of posture!). There are a several classes I haven't tried like Booty Bunz and gym sticks that people love. There is also tighten and tone that I like but totally kicks my butt. Zumba is fun and I recommend trying out different instructors because they all have their own take on things.

Michelle is my favorite instructor and I really like her style of teaching: she's a little in-your-face (which I think is needed for the intensity of kickboxing) and really engaging. She is really good about talking to everyone during class and making sure everyone has the correct posture/sequence down. I've been to another instructor's class once or twice but found her to be slower-paced so I mostly stick to Michelle's classes. Definitely take a yoga mat, even when you go to kickboxing classes - there is about 10 minutes of stretching at the end of every class and mats are required for this portion.

He got to know the manager and was proud to introduce me to him and the entire staff. The staff, the facilities and the equipment was always great. Recently, I returned for a vacation and stayed at a nearby hotel. I bought a week long pass to this gym and as soon as I walked in, it was as if I was whisked back in time for a while. This is a great place to workout.

After spending $20 for the uber i arrive and the staff tells me its members only now no guests. I say "i checked the site it doesn't say that, says it about Sunday but no other day." Staff "Ya i know it's super confusing". So admitted the information posted was wrong. "No way u can make an exception?" "No". So annoyed. Never had that in all the years of visiting gym. Especially rude. And in Troy on a Tuesday night how many visitors are coming in to make this an issue? Unbelievable. So cost me a $40 uber ride back and forth for nothing.

Their pool and racquetball courts are a big draw for many looking for a fully equipped gym. They've made some updates the past few years including an area that goes beyond your typical equipment - along with the class offerings that go with it. But their women's bathroom is in desperate need of an overhaul. The doors don't close all the way (they are hanging poorly and the lock doesn't fully reach across), the stalls are so dated, it isn't always clean - it feels very institutional. They need to reinvest in their equipment - having already started by updating their free weights. I'd like to see better maintenance on their aerobic machines upstairs. No pics allowed - I'm a strict rule follower when it comes to that one.

This is solved from their heart rate approach. You have two choices to begin from the rower or the treadmill. Talk to a coach about your goals and they will guide you accordingly. If you are super competitive this might be the place for you. You can earn splat points, try to stay in the red the longest of the group or compete with yourself in the app. I think this is an amazing place for all levels of fitness. They have really innovative ways to keep members engaged throughout with gifts, pajama days, workout hell week. The coach's are helpful. If they see you doing something incorrect they will assist. The music playlist is pretty good! It's loud so you will have to put your listening skills to use, if you can't sweat, run, row and listen. This might not be a place for you. Another cool feature they have a really awesome functional app. You can purchase merch, see your progress & schedule your next class! Also you can see what new contest or themed week is coming up and participate. Now weird encounter today. I've been here for a month. I've been to different orangetheory's, people let me record since I'm a blogger and I'm strategically only recording myself since I'm far off to the corner. It was two coaches today on the floor & the floor coach talked to me quite a lot and she seen my phone and didn't say a word... until after the class. ‍ I get it but like other places didn't say a word. I would also assume common courtesy of not recording random people while working out, that's just weird. But example I'm on the treadmill (it's pretty high) so the camera is only on me. Even if someone walks behind me you can't even see their head. I'm on the rower and you can on see me and the wall. I have over 50k of followers and I usually record my workouts at gyms since I go so many places. Definitely won be posting this one. So if you want to record this isn't the place Troy specifically! Which again is totally understandable, people usually don't bring their phone in the workout area,. They pride themselves on 60-90 minutes without your device, which I'm sure everyone could utilize.
