I wasn't happy with the service I received. I went in to pick up two small packages and was charged $12, double what I've paid in the past. The staff member on duty was very standoffish and even accused me of faking my online payment receipt, which is wild. They also no longer allow cash payments in Canadian currency, only U.S. cash or pre-payment online, which is inconvenient if you stop by on weekends without U.S. cash on hand. Overall, the experience was frustrating, and I'll be looking for a different parcel service going forward. read more

This place is excellent! Always use them when purchasing products from the states. Must have saved at least $1000 in shipping fees since I've begun using them! Very convenient and ran by great people. I had arrived to pick up a package before we attended a weekend event in Michigan. I had realized that I had unfortunately not printed my tickets to the event before I crossed into the United States. Alex and the rest of the weekend crew went above and beyond to allow me to use their phone and printer to print the tickets. Thanks to them we were able to continue our weekend trip. We don't know if we would have been able to attend the event without them! Thank you! read more

It was a great service a few years ago but has become a complete rip-off as of late. I finally remembered to bring my filled incentive card today...they wouldn't honour it. A small package was $6 US - double what it used to be. If you don't pick up promptly, there's a late charge, even for small packages. I'm done with this business. I'll have items shipped to my relatives/friends outside of Detroit and just pick my stuff up when I visit them. A competitor would be the best thing that could happen here. read more

I've used this place MANY times since my review The service is ALWAYS great Even on Christmas Eve,when all of us procrastinators were there to pick up our Christmas gifts There were appx 4-5 ppl in line in front of me&I was able to get in&out in 5-10min Superb service, great staff, great location What more could U ask for? PLUS they have a card that lets U get a free shipment after the 10th use Nthey even have Detroit products in the store for you to purchase This IMO is how a business should be run&a great example of how to treat customers I know @least 20 ppl who use this place&not 1 has a bad word to say! Feb 2019 After being told not to worry they would hold pkg's for $1 a MONTH I had forgotten to pick up an order 2 pr of jeans I managed to cash in points&get for $28 USD total But they shipped 2 separate pkg's? Which I was also told not to worry about,if I could show it was 1 order I'd only B charged the $5 for 1 I believe it MAY be $6 now So I cld to make sure they STILL kept them for a yr They do BUT I was told I owed $750+ USD? WHAT WHAT?? That is NOT what I'd been told all along&I'd used this company MANY times&ALWAYS gave it great reviews&referred loads of people to, based on the MIS INFORMATION I was given Not so Now they say it's $5 a WEEK for storage after a mth I believe Anyhow they did "let me go" for a lot of it,but I was still charged $62? For a $28 pkg? If my credit card had not expired&I got a different expiry date I would've just told them to rtn it I ALMOST did except cannot find my sz in &IF I do it's appx $80-100 a pr Which is why I USED to go to the for my work jeans Still I find it difficult to get a 4 or 6 petite&I am by no means a tiny woman? However there is another company a blk or 2 away from this 1 that I WILL use in the future So UNLESS U go immediately to get your order this company is great,but NOT if U have to wait The entire reason I&many other Canadians rarely cross the border is because of this president declaring an "enemy of the state" so being an enemy in what used to be a neighbouring country where 1/4 of our family stayed instead of It sure does NOT make you feel very welcome! read more

Great service for Canadians who do a lot of online shopping from the USA. I bought some MLB hats from an online retailer and saved a fortune by having it shipped to Detroit instead of Windsor. One hat at the local mall was $42cdn + tax. 3 hats (including the exact one I wanted) from the online retailer were $45 US all in. $5 fee for the parcel, was in and out in about 2 minutes. Got some cheap groceries and $2.29/gallon gas and the trip paid for itself in spades. I declared my purchases at the border and was let go without any taxes. Even if they pulled me over to pay, I'd still be well ahead. Detroit Mailbox is really a good deal for Canadian online shoppers. I've picked up auto parts and the like, saved a lot of money. read more

Its an easy breezy process and has eased my online shopping tremendously! (I'm sure majority of you know what a joke amazon.ca is compared to amazon.com!) I'm assuming if you're checking out Yelp's reviews, you've already gone on DMB's website to know the process, so I'll avoid the redundancy. PROS -Extremely close to the tunnel -Decent price to pick up parcels ($5/box if under 70 lbs) Especially since shipping within U.S is free (unless you have it rushed) it nullifies the price for pick up -Parking is ample and free Here are a few pointers which initially concerned me, I'm hoping this will add any clarification **Directions & Parking** 1.Once you get out of the tunnel, keep going STRAIGHT for approximately 2 minutes down Randolph Street depending on traffic. You'll pass Larned then Congress St. 2. Fort Street is the first right immediately AFTER the "Wayne County Commission" building. You can't miss it, it's a beautiful governmental building, but keep your eyes on the road! 3. On Fort Street, you'll hit a stop sign. You'll notice there's a large parking lot to your right just 25m ahead. Park there, it's free ;) 4. Once you park, across the street "The Globe Building". That's where DMB is located. You'll be required to enter a code to enter the building (there will be instructions on the window) **Verifying your Items/Packages*** I printed off my order #'s with items to make sure I was picking up all the parcels I had shipped there (I had 4 boxes to be picked up). If you want to ensure all items are there, there's a separate room for you to open up the boxes and will supply a box cutter if you need one. **You may want to go with someone** I went on a Saturday, and the streets were too quiet for my liking. Call me paranoid (i'm also a girl) , but it doesn't hurt to have someone tag along with you. Could also have been since I was doing this for the first time, I felt more secure having someone with me. It's not necessary, since parking lot is right across from the building but just a personal suggestion. read more

Great Service, just a few blocks from the tunnel. If you don't have a friend, our aunt, uncle, cousin, etc. that lives in Detroit, this service is amazing. Very easy, just address it to yourself using their address, and voila, your package is shipped to the US. And I find some web sites actually offer free shipping to US addresses, not to mention how much less expensive things are. You have to use this! read more

Detroit Mailbox is an awesome service, and makes our life living close to the border so much easier! I can order content from all over the U.S. and have it shipped without any hassle. I always declare everything when I return over the border, so never a problem with importations. One word of advice as I've forgotten myself on occasion! Make sure you have printed your online invoice to have with you when you return, as there may not always be invoices contained in the packages that you pick up, and you need to prove the value of the goods you have when you return. Have forgotten to do that on occasion when I was rushed! Also, make sure your GPS knows the correct address. First time I went over there, I wound up on the other end of Fort St., which wasn't a pleasant experience in the dead of winter. read more

I've been going to Detroit Mailbox for many MANY years... I liked their previous location, however they are well aware they need to be close to the border. For an easy low LOW price, they always receive my packages, and they've always taken good care of them. I've literally got zero to say that is negative about them. They notify me as soon as they receive my package, I've never ever had a problem, and as much as actually calling them on the phone can be difficult a few times I tried..it's because they are a busy place. But why? Because lots of people use them, and they are GREAT for what they do. Being so close to the border, and being able to ship to a US address saves LOTS of money in added costs, and saves LOTS of time crossing the border via regular postal methods. If you are Canadian and within driving distance of Detroit... no reason you shouldn't be using them. read more

I've been a client since Ryan started the service up and can't imagine being without it. It's so easy and it saves mr so much money it's not funny. US shippers often times don't want to ship to Canada since they can't track their shipment and if they do they charge too much. Now it's inexpensive, easy to track and easy to pick up. Detroit Mailbox is conveniently located just minutes from the tunnel exit (1 minute by car) and has free parking. Afterwards I usually drive the extra 6 blocks to get to Speedway and fill up the tank with discount gas making the trip pay me for having gone over...lol. Detroit Mailbox really fulfills a necessary service for Windsorites and Essex County residents. Nothing bugs me more than paying ridiculous differentials in shipping costs because my order needs to get to the other side of the river. The people who work here are really friendly and helpful. I use this service frequently and I've never had an issue. The sales are always a great deal and parking is a breeze. Even the building they're located in is gorgeous! I use DetroitMailbox.com to receive all of my US internet shopping. The price is right, the location is perfect (only a couple of blocks from the Detroit / WIndsor tunnel) and the parking is free. Best of all, the people are very customer focused and do whatever they can to help you. It's easy: you use the DetroitMailbox address along with your name and then send DetroitMailbox an email from their website to let them know your package is coming ... What a great service. This has saved me hundreads of dollars since I have started using this method to order itemsd from the states. Even with the drive from Kingsville, I save the excessive brokerage fees and also the HST (most of the time, depending on the customs). I even get a chance tio fill up the car, which more than compensates for the tunnel fares. No hassle to find the pickup location, save parking and a very secure building. I live in Windsor, Ontario. I am very satisfied with the service. The staff are friendly and they are very prompt with their communications. Detroit Mailbox is located a few very short blocks away from the U.S./Canada tunnel so it is very quick to pick up a package and be on your way. I pay lower shipping costs overall and receive my packages from the U.S. 1.5 to 2 weeks faster than if I have them shipped to Canada. Detroit Mailbox has a very convenient location for us living in Windsor, On. Can easily access it from the Tunnel or even take the Tunnel Bus across and get dropped off a mere 200 feet from Detroit Mailbox. They respond to you when you send in your email telling them you have a parcel on the way and then contact you by email as soon as your parcel arrives. What a fabulous concept. I live in Windsor and now I can save on shipping when I make purchases online. The location is close to the border and easily accessible. There is a parking lot right there as well. The staff is extremely friendly and even helped carry an item that I had ordered down to my vehicle with me, so that I wouldn't have to make multiple trips. If you're a history buff or just enjoy architectural details, then you will enjoy the original details of the building as well as its history! read more

I frequently shop online and before Detroit mailbox I had been paying ridiculous "international shipping fees" and having many of my shipments delayed at customs - now I get my items delivered within days at Detroit Mailbox. I've been using this service for almost a year now, and I can't say enough good things about it. Their location is a breeze to access, and the staff have been really great to deal with. Saturday pickup availability is a big plus for me as well. I've been recommending it to all my friends - just a super value. My only complaint is that now I'm finding it waaaaaay too easy to buy stuff stateside!! read more

I love the Detroit Mailbox...they have a great location just a couple of minutes from the tunnel. I now get all my packages sent there to get my U.S packages within days instead of weeks, not to mention the hundreds of dollars that I have saved on shipping and brokerage fees. All the staff there is super nice and always helpful. I would highly recommend this service to all my friends :) read more

Detroit Mailbox is definitely a plus for me. I do a lot of shopping in the U.S. and avoid shipping costs as most purchases hae free shipping within the continental United States. Then just a quick trip across the border and I have my purchases and save hundreds of dollars yearly. Just a couple of minutes from the tunnel, could not be more convenient. Fantastic location just outside of the tunnel and EASY parking!! Every time I have sent packages to Detroit mailbox they have emailed me to let me know my package has arrived saving me the hassle of driving over and paying toll only to find nothing like when I was using UPS. Love using Detroit Mailboxes and have referred them to everyone looking to save on shipping costs! read more

I have wanted to buy products from sites like Amazon and was disappointed when they wouldn't ship to Canada. Then.. I heard about Detroit Mailbox. It's so easy and close to the border. Mapquest sent us the wrong way the first time we went but I called Detroit Mailbox and they talked me through the directions to get there. The staff are great. I LOVE this service :) read more
