Quite Nice is literally quite nice!…read more This is one of three locations available for event rental. The two other locations are on James Couzen and Grand River. This location is on the corner of W. Seven Mile Rd and Burt Rd. There is an ample fenced in parking lot with entry from the back. Overflow parking is on the street. There is no smoking in this venue, however, there are outdoor accommodations in the back for smokers. This venue is promoted as 'The venue just for you'. This location is beautiful and perfect for any occasion worth a celebration. A mature crowd will love the ambiance of this event space. There are televisions throughout which are perfect for showing personal slide shows. Also, a large blue tooth speaker and a microphone are provided for use. This was perfect for playing a jazz playlist directly from my phone. Wi-Fi is on the house. I was able to assist my girlfriend in choosing this venue as a repast location to celebrate the life well lived of a loved one after his funeral. This was absolutely perfect with the linen table cloths, floral arrangements and caterer. There is a small kitchen area with counter space, a refrigerator, microwave, stove and sink. There is a stipulation of the rental that all trash must be removed and placed in the dumpster at the back of the parking lots. To assist with this several trash bags and receptacles are available throughout the venue. Thank you the venue owner for the sign of condolences to the family and friends. That was a nice touch. P.S. I also have attended their location on James Couzen for a 50th Birthday Party. That location is also Quite Nice!

The event was totally sold out, and packed to the max. The main floor was filled with big, round tables. They had a few options for food like a cheese & fruit platter & chicken tenders. There was wine, beer & soda available as well. The service was pretty good. There is a 2nd floor as well and some people were sitting up there. I think they were the musicians and their family though. The event itself was awesome. I'm not a folk or country music fan, but I love good live music. There was a good variety of music (folk, country, blues, or all of the above). The energy in the room was amazing. This is a charity event that people attend every year. I'm so glad we were invited to attend. The Community House is definitely old & holds a lot of history. I loved the atmosphere & found it to be very intriguing. It definitely needs a lot of TLC, and looks like they're having some serious structural issues. The good news is that they have a plan, and hopefully they'll be able to fulfill the vision for a new Community House. It's clear that the community takes pride in this little landmark.

We had our wedding here this summer and loved it. We were very very pleased with how everything turned out and had really great interactions with everyone who worked there. One note is that they don't provide catering or any other services like that. It worked out fine for us because we were able to bring in the companies from in and around Detroit that we loved.

From…read morestart to finish, Kayla was kind, patient, organized, creative, knowledgable, and EVERYTHING you'd want from a planner. I don't know if I can put into words how appreciative I am of her work and her friendship. I am pretty laid-back about everything, wedding planning included, and this could have made Kayla's job incredibly tough... given the fact that I didn't give her much direction. Kayla took the few ideas that I tossed her way and turned them in to an absolute dream- it was like I handed her a seed, and she turned it in to the most beautiful garden I'd ever seen. There was not a moment during the planning process OR our wedding day that I worried about a single detail; I knew that if I was thinking of something, Kayla had already thought of it and it was already taken care of. Aside from Kayla's work ethic and obvious skill, she is the sweetest, most genuine soul on the planet. You will feel so at ease every time you talk and you'll probably want to be her best friend :) Do yourself a favor- have Kayla plan/coordinate your wedding and rest assured that it will turn out better than you ever could have imagined.

As a novice of woodworking, I was blown-away by the intricate woodwork and finishings throughout the home. The three ladies that lead our tour of the home shared many interesting details about the property, its restoration, and details of Clara and Henry's years at the estate. Many of the restoration stories, like finding a tub for Henry's bathroom or how Clara had a section repainted white were intriguing. Even though much of the home, especially the second floor, is still being restored it was a fascinating experience.

There wasn't much actually open amongst the majestic-looking buildings while I was there, but the picnic area was hopping. The signage was bilingual-in English and Arabic-and what appeared to be a Yemeni wedding seemed to be taking place. The juxtaposition of the estate of an industrialist (or robber baron, or visionary, or racist, depending on your point of view) with a distinctive immigrant community makes for a striking reflection on Americana. The grounds include some gardens, and a lake with a path around it. Access to the river is limited, but it didn't look like that impressive of a river. The greenery is more worthwhile.
