I had this company remove my liner and reglaze the tub. They have damaged the shower wall by creating a gap between the tub and the wall causing thousands of dollars of damages and offer a 75 dollar refund. The caulking was poor and the owner is extremely unprofessional. He communicates via texts, and curses at you for raising issues. The positive reviews are bought specially on google.

This what to expect if you get your tub re-glazed/re-surfaced at Detroit Tubs!
    Robin L.

This is the worst company I have ever deal with, paid $900.00 for the re-glazing of my tub failed after 2 weeks it failed, they came out a 2nd time with same result, cracking, peeling, uneven surface, left a gapping hole. Contacted owner for refund stated on webpage 100% Guaranteed and Customer Satisfaction #1. I informed the owner of my experience and requested $900 back for failure to perform the resurfacing job. Upon hearing this, the owner told me that the tub resurfacing service was not guaranteed, despite the multiple guarantees prominently featured on the Detroit Tubs website and, the two attempts at resurfacing her tub. Further, refused to refund my money, all while berating and yelling at her for being "unreasonable". Instead of refunding her money, he stated the only thing he would do was reduce the tub replacement cost of $5900 by $900, and when I refused, the owner informed me that he would not refund my money under any circumstances and hung up. The owner then sent me a text message notifying me that you had blocked her number.

This is a finished wall that should be straight.

Looking to add a small walk in tub for my elderly disabled mother? Bloomfield Hills area

I think they specialize in glazing tubs, remodeling bathrooms, tub to shower conversions. I really don't know if they do walk in tubs.

He was very accommodating of my preferences and super easy to work with. It can be stressful to have someone working in your home, but Andrew was easy to have around and respectful of our space. You can tell he truly cared about the quality of his paint job and the satisfaction of his customers. I'll admit I can be a little fussy about paint. I'm very happy with Andrew's work! He even explained why he liked certain products and their performance. We found his rates to be competitive, as well. Here's the real proof: We are planning on having him come back to paint another large room for us. I actually found him soliciting a job here on Yelp. He was very responsive through the entire communication process, and never left me hanging or wondering what was happening, from first contact to when he was arriving. You don't always get that, and it's important. His estimate was clear and professional. This is his own business and there is a definite pride of ownership, and customer care that comes with that. Overall, this was a definitely deserved 5-star experience. Highly recommend!

Their work was clean, organized, and provided a level of attention to detail which I even missed. I especially appreciated their thoughtful recommendations and the respect they payed to my home. They provided an honest estimate of the costs and stayed true to that estimate. They were able to transform my home within a short period of time and left it cleaner than they found it. Highly recommended, in fact I will be using them again for some furniture restoration and other projects. Great team.

Absolute Disaster!!!…read more I hired this person for hardwood floor grinding and refinishing. Pictures tell the story. If you are looking for someone to turn a simple job into an electrical adventure, leave a mess behind, and create new problems you didn't have before -- this may be the person for you. On top of the poor workmanship, he was extremely rude and disrespectful. He attempted to connect his machine directly to a live electrical line, which resulted in damage to the electrical panel and an expensive oven showing a "Bad Line" error. Apparently, quality control and safety procedures were optional. Blamed the panel. The job was left with trash scattered around, and somehow the priority became demanding payment before the work was completed. Asked for additional $150 to "dispose" of the trash that he left behind. To add to the experience, machines were left sitting on carpet, creating another potential mess. We ended up contacting the local police. A reminder for anyone considering hiring him: do not release payment until you have personally inspected every detail of the work. Before making the deal demand full clean-up and disposal of trash. Take before pictures. Check your appliances, check your electrical system, and check that your property is actually left in better condition than when he arrived. Unfortunately, the experience was not the kind anyone wants.

Then Nathan reached out and provided a quote that was slightly higher than the one I had chosen, but his estimate stood out for its professionalism and detailed breakdown -- including shoe molding removal and replacement of damaged boards. I decided to go with him, and I'm so glad I did. Nathan communicated promptly and understood exactly what we needed. He and his coworker Leeland clearly knew their craft and did a fantastic job. They paid close attention to every detail, working carefully around the corners, closets, and especially the badly worn kitchen area. The floor now looks brand new and will surely impress potential buyers. I highly recommend their work!

They were to have multiple workers to clean/repair master bathroom floor and enclosed shower and the Saltillo tile floor in kitchen - they had one worker arrive and they other called in sick - yet somehow miraculously arrived in good health after noon. The bathroom was "ok" but the worker missed cleaning the edge areas of the tile floor. The kitchen is were it gets ridiculous and dangerous. The estimate/contract explicitly states that they were to use "non-toxic cleaners" with steam cleaning in addition with machine washing as needed. These clowns, without consent or announcement, decided to use Muriatic (Hydrochloric) acid on our kitchen floor with my wife, our dog, our son and I all in the home closed up tight on a 30 deg day in December with a natural gas forced air furnace running the whole time. The fumes took our breath away after only a few seconds and also scorched our kitchen tile floor. Yet the lead worker was wearing a double canister face respirator. When I questioned him about the fumes, he only said through his respirator "you might want to not breathe this stuff in". They did not instruct us to open any doors prior or during the application of this Hydrochloric acid and had no regard for our safety, yet took very serious precautions for their own. They offered no apology and only maintained in a highly defensive attitude that it was part of their normal cleaning process, which according to the Sir Grout site and the contract/work order is 100% contrary to the truth. They stood in my kitchen with a mask on and lied to me about what I could plainly see with my own eyes. I have yet to receive a phone call from the area franchise owner that I was told I would by the lead worker. I would say this company is a joke if the consequences of their actions weren't so seriously dangerous. DO NOT USE this company for anything in your home.

They were sloppy toward the ends of two very long days, but overall the grout was good. Unfortunately, the material they us to clean the grout caused the finish on my bathtub to bubble up and peel away. They agreed to give me $200 toward a similar (low quality) treatment, but said that one of the men that worked on on my grout would do a higher quality finish for $500 (a value of $800 to $1200). He came and worked really hard, but the result was full of bubbles, and was peeling off in under two days. It took over a week to get a return date scheduled, and by then I realized I had realized I couldn't let them do more work on it. I hired another company to fix the tub, but the whole thing has taken over a month to resolve and was unnecessary from the beginning. The owner called me once to explain why it wasn't their fault, but that he would try to help me get my money back from his employee. He has not returned my follow-up call. The employee did, however, give the money back.
