    Lobster Roll
    Jerr W.

What a cool grocery shopping experience . All of the fresh produce and opportunities to eat while there are amazing (deli, sub shop, bakery, coffee, ice cream, açaí bowls, soups, etc.). The store was absolutely packed but the selection was amazing with signage everywhere of new things to try. It was kind of like a mix between a Sam's Club with all the samples, Trader Joe's with the specialty snacks, and the local farmers market. As a first timer I was a little overwhelmed but I can't wait to try it again. While I was there I tried their lobster roll and it was really good. So fresh!

After dinner, we swung by the Amish grocery store to pick up a few items, but the main reason for our visit was some of their ice cream. Apparently this spot is well known for service some great, locally made ice cream. Like any grocery store, they offer produce, meats, seafood, refrigerated and frozen items, canned and bagged goods, everything you'd expect, but much of which is locally sourced items, and all at great prices. They offer a good variety of ice cream flavors, and allow sampling. After sampling the cookie monster, it made up my mind. Cookies and cream ice cream with cookie dough...oh yeah! Pricing on the ice cream was amazingly low compared to what I'm used to. A single scoop, which was rather large, and more than sufficient was only $2! As a whole, the store is well organized, well lit, and very clean. Produce is all very neatly stacked, which I've never seen before. The employees I interacted with were friendly, and pricing was great. Make me wish we had one in NC.

What an amazing store - I'm sure I missed some things but wow - fresh fruit, mountains of it, fresh store processed meats and fresh seafood... soups, deli counter, cakes and pies and people making sushi. Lots of people around to help if you need to find something and very clean for being so busy. This will be my go-to store for sure. The place is always busy but lots of registers open so checkout was quick.

Detwiler's Farm Market is hands down one of my favorite places to shop for anything fresh. When I say farm fresh, I mean straight-from-the-farm fresh -- and they truly support local farmers. The produce section is always piled high with the most beautiful displays of fruits and vegetables. They make fresh salsa in-house, have an entire area of fresh fruit (even a station where you can core your own pineapple!), and offer some of the freshest seafood and meats around. The deli is just as impressive, with sandwiches, soups, and salads -- and you can have a sandwich made exactly how you like it. There's even a cheese bar where they sample specialty cheeses. Around special occasions like Valentine's Day, you'll find them hand-dipping chocolate-covered strawberries and offering samples. Their bakery is incredible. Everything is made from scratch -- the cinnamon rolls are absolutely amazing, and we love the cookies and cakes. They bake their own bread and even make their own donuts. From the produce to the meat department to the bakery, everything at Detwiler's is truly top-notch. They also have an ice cream counter featuring homemade Yoder's ice cream. You can grab a sundae, milkshake, or even an açai bowl while you're there. Yes, it's always busy -- but somehow the checkout lines move quickly every single time. They are incredibly efficient, and the staff is some of the friendliest and most helpful you'll find anywhere. The store is beautifully decorated, with each department thoughtfully themed. They play uplifting Christian music throughout the store, and no matter how crowded it gets, it's always a pleasant experience. People are genuinely smiling -- even the shoppers seem happy to be there. If you're visiting from out of town, Detwiler's is a must-stop. And if you're local, it deserves a permanent spot on your weekly shopping list. Decor, quality, service -- it's a 10 out of 10 every time.

Açaí bowl with added peanut butter and coconut flakes. *Chef's Kiss * You can customize to your heart's content!

Açaí Bowls, in the ice cream bar up front. Say no more! The best!!! Basic bowl starts with frozen fruit sherbet on the bottom, granola and fruit (choice of 3: bananas, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple). For a slight upcharge add your choice of peanut butter, chia seeds, superfruit, honey, or coconut! (Or add several!) You can't go wrong! Available in 2 sizes, either 16 oz or 32 oz. Better than a banana split, IMO.

Came here for the first time last week, this is from the perspective of an out of town Californian. Pros: - amazing option of groceries, produce, baked goods, snacks, and grab and go stuff. Some highlights of ours were Wisconsin cheese flavored chips, pretzels to take home (both snack bags and a soft pretzel), the grab and go sushi (surprisingly good raw salmon and crab???), as well as snacks like nonperels. - also a great place to get coffee, ice cream, and samples! Favorite samples were key lime pie, cheese puffs, chips, and spicy buffalo dip??? Everything was delicious and I love that you get to sample coffee when you walk in if you like too - all staff were friendly - large parking lot - really good prices! We're willing to drive 45 mins to come here Cons: - BUSY. unsurprising. Can get really crowded at entry and try to be mindful of where you park your carts 10/10 will come back, can't wait to come here at the beginning of a longer trip to Florida to get snacks

Cuban sandwich - don't mind the bite lol!

This Detwilers is a lot to handle on a Saturday. We have been to the one by UTC several times in a Saturday. It's super popular. Prices are pretty good. Variety is nice, and free samples are the best. This time we ordered a lobster roll and Cuban sandwich, & and I picked up seaweed salad, watermelon, and two fajita sauces I could only find here. When the girl rang up our stuff, she did it so fast that my sandwich fell all over the counter. She proceeded to tell me to go get another one and I'm like it has to be ordered. She ordered it and they brought it to me. It wasn't the most glowing customer service, but whatever. Once I got my sandwich, i went to sit down. They have three tables inside next to the ice cream area. I do love this supermarket with all of their variety, but I won't go to this location again. I can tell the Aisles are very cramped. They have a handful of locations in the Sarasota area. They had talks about St. Pete but no idea if that will be happening.

This is the first time shopping here in Palmetto FL. They have many locations all across the east side of the gulf coast of FL. Prices are very good, fruit is local and fresh. They also have sections like an Amish market. Dairy with local farms Seafood, some local some probably frozen but lots of variety. Fresh butcher, all varieties. I think a little expensive but its fresh. Deli with sides and sliced meat/cheese local and boars head. Bakery, fresh bread & pasteries. Local amish & honey section. It reminds me of the Amish market open 6 days a week!!Great experience. I will go as often as i can!! Support local farmers!!!

truly implemented indeed! They walk the talk, how refreshing!

The staff here was extremely friendly I'm sure a lot of the customers are locals that frequently stop in by the sounds of the laughter and the conversations going on as they checked out. I got a laugh after seeing a small section marked "scratch and dent", theses items were marked up to 50% off, these are a variety of items that are a little bruised or ripe to the point you'd want to use them right away. I was hoping to see a cow, a horse, a pig or a chicken but I guess they were all working out in the fields like most farms everyone has to pull their weight. Ole Rosie, where do I start?…read more I was so happy I finally caught this little market when it was open (I randomly pass by and stop, just didn't note their business hours). After a few minutes of browsing, a chipper young lady (I'm assuming it was Rosie) came to the floor, out from what looked like a deep beauty sleep. After a few moments I decided to say hello and make a little small talk "I'm so glad I caught you when you're open." The happy young woman replied "IM ALWAYS OPEN!"... I tried to explain to her how I just randomly cruise by and it's usually not during business hours, nbd. Yikes. She said it was her last day open and she was heading back to Michigan for the summer. Yes! I think to myself, this is my 'in' to get on her good side (I'm also from Michigan, us Michiganders are usually very friendly to each other!). Rosie didn't bat an eye. She rang me up, after moments of silence, I try to talk to her again and jokingly say "is that with my Michigan discount?" Her face turned from a scowl to an even more evil, menacing scowl. She proclaimed "DO I GET PROPERTY TAX DISCOUNT?!?! DO I GET A GAS DISCOUNT?!?! DO I GET A GROCERY DISCOUNT?!" I just stood there in awe.. She was right, she gets no Michigan discount, why should I?! What a horrible thing to ask her!! After being schooled, I sat there in silence. I ended up buying a honeycomb, two jars of pickled garlic, balsamic garlic herb jam, and some of what Rosie's roadside signs say are 'fresh cheese curds.' What Rosie doesn't know is my family is from the dairyland. We used to visit every summer. And guess what? Cheese curds are the first thing I buy when I get there! Fresh cheese curds are only fresh for a couple days. When I get home I ripped open the curds and took a bite. It was the worst tasting cheese I have ever tasted. I took old Rosie's word and thought they were fresh. I checked the date (after I purchased them)... The date was 2/2/2022. I bought these cheese curds on 4/22!!!! Those were not fresh. They would get tossed after a week if they were in Wisconsin. Dispite Rosie's cheery attitude, I will say I'm never going to waste my time at this place ever, don't waste yours.

So I'll return for pumpkin pie, and cranberry sauce, I do hope this is the year that I open the can on time. I'm just not sure if its sold here, or if they have a turkey even - as I left without my list. Tom Turkey (or Tina) has a two day spices citrus brine ice bath to be plunged down into the awaiting five gallon pail.
