He's been skateboarding for 50+ years and can teach and coach anyone from international competitors to my (at the time of her first lesson) 3 year old daughter. He's patient, highly skilled, and gives simple targeted cues that are progressive in nature and help skaters improve their technique quickly. You are, indeed, covered in green grass, with large open spaces where children might frollic, a smattering of trees line your perimeter, sheltering us from the New Mexico sun, and you offer areas for groups to gather and picnic together, again, a bonus feature pushing your star value upward. And oh how I haven't begun to note your most impressive feature, the skate/bike/scooter park in your belly. Sure, it's not a theme park, but the kids certainly appear to enjoy it, and after you've watched them come and go for a couple of hours it's clear that in this era, the scooter is winning the popularity contest. It's all good, Paradise Hills Park, you're a winner, encouraging people to get some exercise in the heart of a pandemic, offering recreation, connection, and a slice of green on a westside sand dune. I guess I can't really explain this rating I bestow upon you other than to state that meh, I've enjoyed much better.

This park is lovely! It has a three different playground areas. One is specifically for kids 2-5…read moreyears old and the other two are for kids 5-12 years old. There's also a skate park, a couple volleyball courts and a baseball field. You have to bring your own net for the volleyball court. The baseball field has real bathrooms, but looks like they're locked when there isn't a baseball game happening. There was also a fence around most of the park. There's lots of covered picnic tables, shaded benches, and trees that create lots of shade. There's are shade structures on the playgrounds, but they don't really cover any of the equipment sadly. There's also a working water fountain. Some of the covered picnic tables also had some charcoal grills available to use. When we visited, there were also two porter potties, but I didn't go in them so I can't tell you how clean they were ... but they're porter potties, so ya know. lol. Also worth mentioning that I only saw two homeless people at this park. They kept to themselves and it didn't seem like they were doing drugs.

There's plenty of people at the dog park and surrounding meadows of grass. Lots of family parties and kids sports games too. We were in Taos over the summer staying in a house, so we did not have a hotel pool to swim in. To…read moremake up for it we went to the Taos Youth and Family center one warm afternoon. I really don't know why this place wasn't packed. Really. This place has a ton to offer to the community. We were there for the pool, and it cost $2 per person to swim and use the water slides. The snack bar was closed in the middle of the day for some reason, and they seemed under staffed, but maybe with so few people using the center it was enough people. There is a very impressive skate/bike park out back that three teens were using. Apparently the ice rink is a big draw, but it was under repair while we were there.
