Recently I moved to CA and started a journey to try multiple hot yoga studios in OC to find "my studio". I'm happy to share in a series of reviews my humble opinions as I try to find the right fit. I tried out Debi Rebel via a Groupon for a 2 week unlimited pass (personally I went 5x). Since then I've gone multiple times over the past 2 years. Normally the classes are $$$ though comparable to rates in the area. They offer multiple classes and I tried the Yin, Hot and Warm yoga. The flow is similar to the flow at RSM Yoga, Melt Yoga and Sumits Yoga (in AZ). With one large room and one small room they seem to rotate classes in each room to allow for proper cleaning. As compared to other hot yoga, this is REALLY HOT. Before the workout even started I was already sweating. The staff were really kind and welcoming. read more

I went here the first time I ever tried warm/hot yoga. I have some limitations and was asking a few questions about that. The instructor for my class was not able to offer much help but suggested I take a class with another specific instructor. I paid for two weeks unlimited so I could try a class with that instructor, she was not listed on any upcoming classes. Disappointing and misleading. I had not been to hot yoga in almost a year. i wanted to try a new studio. I was a bit intimidated to try this place out but glad i did. i went for the first time sunday, the lady/teacher was so sweet and welcoming. i love how clean the studio is. the vibe is amazing. what was even better was i thought i was going to pass out bc it's been so long but at the end a girl came in with wet towels i was like wow this is spa treatment! i can't wait to go back! read more

A yoga practice with loud rock music was a first for me. Devi Rebel yoga is clean, nice atmosphere, yoga room is relaxing and the staff is there to greet you with a smile. I was looking forward to trying a yoga studio in my local area, however I am not sure why the staff blast rock music from the 1980's in every class. I have done yoga for 20 years and this philosophy of loud rock music was a first for me. Never heard of that type of yoga practice before. The teachers are friendly and I wish this studio would not have loud rock music playing. My friend and I could not relax and ended up leaving. The owners/teachers may want to study authentic yoga practice derived from India. The music should be Indian yoga music and not hard rock as I we felt like we were at a concert. I come back to this yoga studio again after I have tried a few yoga studios. This studio is one of the cleanest and nicest place that I want to be. Normally, I take 6:30 am because of my personal schedule and job. The instructors are very nice and thoughtful, and the temperature is perfect. You always have enough space. I only have one request: please add more classes to 6:30 am. Once it gets done, I would love to stay with the studio as long as possible. read more

The staff is extremely friendly, caring and welcoming. From the moment you walk through the door you feel a sense of belonging and connection. Classes include Vinyasa Flow, hot and warm yoga, yin, restore and meditation, beginners classes, teen, rebelates (combining yoga and pilates), shred (combining yoga with weights), HIIT, and Buti (which is taught by a dynamo teacher, Jessica, that keeps the class energetic and is a total blast). You can book classes through mind body or by down loading their app to your phone, this makes checking out the schedule and booking classes really easy!! The teachers are certified, experienced, enthusiastic, authentic and caring. The energy they project throughout the studio and in their class creates a warm and positive atmosphere. One of the owners, Amity Howey, is currently completing her education in Yoga Therapy and is always willing to shares her knowledge - she really knows her stuff. She takes the time to explain postures and variations for those with injuries or limitations. They offer a student, military and first responders rate of only $99 per month unlimited yoga which I am so grateful for. This discounted rate has allowed me to sign my three boys up, which they love and need more now than ever. Yoga has helped us physically, mentally and emotionally as we navigate through this very stressful and challenging time. I can not say enough about Devi Rebel Yoga!! Where do I start? In the 10 Years that I have been practicing hot yoga, this studio is THE NICEST STUDIO that I have been to in all of California. That is not an exaggeration. I've been to a lot . What amazes me the most is that they opened up in the middle of a pandemic and BOOM just showed Orange County that anything is possible. Jennifer and Lisa (the owners ) are such kind hearted souls who know what they are doing a and what they are teaching. They are both 500 hour certified. When you walk into this studio it's like you are walking into a 5 star spa. There are TWO hot rooms with incredible heat and amazing built in humidifier. The sound system is state of the art. I really love their bathrooms. Like I said it's like a spa. They offer yoga and pilates and sculpt. I think they offer reiki too? I'm not sure. Anyways I highly recommend. I think your first two classes are free. I'm not sure how long they will have this promotion so take advantage of it while you can. Congrats Devi rebel! read more

I tried their class that's 107 degrees and OMG. So good. I honestly wish I could go back but tmi - my OB advised against it when trying to get pregnant. Some context... I am a man of a certain age (let's just say north of 50). I am athletic and consider myself fit. My primary sport is the Surf Ski. I consider myself a decent waterman. I am pretty good at it, I don't end up on the podium in races, but I have no problem in reasonably rough conditions and can go for 10 to 15 miles without problem. In addition, I also paddle outrigger six team sport. With that sport I've done numerous channel crossing including Molokai to Oahu, Maui to Molokai, and Catalina to Newport. So, I consider myself fit ... not chiseled ... more of an "slightly-better-than-average Joe" type of fit. I started with Devi-Rebel about 2 months ago as an alternative treatment to settle my mind, sort out my Chakra (whatever the heck that means), and increase flexibility in my shoulders and lower back (in support of my primary sport). I also have bladder cancer. Anyone who has this cancer or has a loved one with his cancer understands what it means and how it impacts your life physically and mentally. I started Yoga to get me out of my post-therapy funks. So ... gentlemen, if you think you are fit, give one of the hot yoga classes a try. It will humble you. To me this appears to be a sport dominated by women who will make you look like a fool (if you care about that). Right now, I am just trying to get through the class, and it's been about two months. I feel like I'm getting a little bit better but I'm still basically a rhino in a tutu amongst a class full of gazelles. Regarding the Devi Rebel studio, it is great! It is very clean, the staff is wonderful and supportive (exclusively women as I have observed to this point), and they are nonjudgmental and seem to care about their students. There are lots of smiles and encouragement daily. I'm not the most social person nor am I the most easily approachable but I am comfortable in the studio amongst all these amazing women. I have the imposter syndrome ... there is no way I look like I belong there. However, the staff makes you feel like you do ... that is important. I have done the hot yoga, I have done the Pilates, and I have done the shred classes. I like them all, each with its own unique set of challenges. These are not lightweight classes, try one; you will be humbled. They are an excellent complement to whatever your sport may be. This could easily be your primary sport, but for me that would take years just to dial into the technique, the balance, and the control. I feel like I will get the conditioning relatively quickly, but the technique and the flexibility will take time. The Devi Rebel studio is clean, and the staff is warm and friendly. This review coming from someone who DOES NOT fit the "stereotype" of a yoga person. Give it a try ... it is addictive. read more

BY FAR THE BEST STUDIO! I have been coming to Devi Rebel since they opened last September. All of the people are so warm,welcoming and knowledgeable. I have met some of my closest friends in this community and can't begin to tell you how much I love this studio! I've never been to a yoga studio that had such horrible attitude. The location is nice and it has two yoga rooms. There's three owners of which two are very nice and personable BUT the other one ( I won't name names) is just flat out phoney and passive aggressive. Obsessed. I was introduced to Devi by a dear friend and became instantly hooked. I am new to warm/hot yoga but fell In love with their Rebelates and Rebel Shred classes immediately. This studio is insanely high-end, gorgeous inside, the owners are wonderful and welcoming...the instructors are great, I mean I could go on and on! I always feel more centered and calm after I workout here, it reminds me of how I used to feel after SoulCycle classes. All yoga studios are amazing as Yoga itself is amazing, but this studio is brand new and I would encourage you to go and support new businesses who are trying to help you lead a healthier lifestyle you will come back for more, especially if you are a local. The studio is clean, bright, clinical yet very welcoming, even though I have only attended 1 class so far, however I have a feeling this studio will do extremely well, I wish you all so much luck as it must have been a HUGE process to get your doors open during these uncertain times. It's been so long since I called a yoga studio my home. I've been doing yoga for more than 10 years now but when I came to Devi Rebel a year ago, I was new to the hot practice and honestly quite skeptical. It can also be really intimidating going to a new studio where you don't know anyone but it was different here. You are welcomed with a conversation/friendliness/positive energy the minute you walk in. The staff makes an effort to get to know you by name and makes the interactions personal. What I love about this place is you are never treated as just another number; a yogi doing your thing. You are made to feel like you are family. That's how I felt the first time I came and that's still how I feel today. The teachers are fun and the friendliest people you'll come across with. They are absolutely some of the best teachers I've encountered. The best part is they don't only offer hot yoga classes, they have a variety of classes for you to choose from: Shred classes (sculpt), Vinyasa, Rebelates (Pilates), Yin, and Restorative! I get to do all of this to supplement my yoga practice and it's incredible. Can I just also say that I love the Shred classes so much (especially Erica's class ). I've never been stronger and overall just feeling great since coming here. The community support is overwhelming and that alone makes you want to look forward to getting on your mat. It's been almost 5 years since I have been back in studio with my practice and the community I built here in such a short time is so special.
