I'm not a whiskey/bourbon drinker. I did have a flight of these and I fell in love with the cinnamon bourbon! It tastes like a cinnamon disk left in your mouth! The bar tenders are awesome, the drinks are better and the vibe is what you would want to expect. But, the kitchen sucks. It only has enough to lasts for maybe 1/2 days and the selection really isn't paired for bourbon. So, 1 star off the total. If they had a real kitchen/chef, this would easily be 4+ stars. Amazing distillery in the heart of the downtown area! It is up on street level and they have their beautiful copper stills on display right at the front. My friends ordered a few tasting flights and we were all pleased with the offerings. Our server was really nice and was apologetic they weren't serving food by the time we asked about it. She gave us suggestions of places that were open and had good options. read more

I spent 4 days in San Antonio. All the while playoff football was happening. We spent 2 nights going to Devils River. It was an awesome place to watch the game. Let's start here, Garrett was our bartender both nights and he was a gem. The cocktails were stunning and he was just overall wonderful. The atmosphere is amazing. This is a great distillery. My girlfriend and I found it during our first trip to San Antonio last year in the Spring. They were only open a few weeks and we had the place to ourselves. We were granted an impromptu tour and truly enjoyed our time there. We ventured back during our second trip to San Antonio and it was great to see the distillery fully up and running. We had a lot of fun trying the two flights and playing games in the basement. This is a must try if you like distilleries. The ambiance is very timely. You step back into a 20-50s vibe. They also rent out the distillery for parties and weddings, which I think would be great fun and a great spot. read more

I'm not a huge whiskey person but I loved their coffee bourbon. I tried a flight of the coffee bourbon, agave bourbon and rye whiskey and the coffee was my favorite. Sweet and easy to drink. They regularly have live music and and it was all around a great and fairly intimate place to grab a drink and hang out near the river walk. We were in town for the Alamo Marathon. Walked by Friday and Saturday wanting to check it out by unable before a run. Checked the web and the door which said open Sunday but man were we disappointed when we arrived at 1pm to find them closed. Distillery has a relaxing, hip vibe. Wasn't very busy being a Tuesday night. Central location on Houston St made it easy to meet up with friends. Had great service by the bartender and manager Adrian. Like most businesses right now, they are short staffed so the food menu was limited. But Adrien made us delicious street tacos to accompany our flights and cocktails. I had the Cold Fashioned and enjoyed the chocolate and coffee Old Fashioned spin. The Devils in the Details had hints of blackberry but more of a traditional Old Fashioned. My coworkers had the flights. Fav was the Single Barrel Bourbon. We will be back, thank you! read more

We've wanted to try this place the last 3 times we've been here but they always have a private event going on. Stopped by today and was underwhelmed. There was one employee working and another standing at the end of the bar. Fast forward 15 minutes later the the employee standing at the end of the bar finally said can I help you. We placed our order. After finishing we were going to order more drinks but 2 staff members left to go take some boxes to the downstairs event and the third (guy standing at the end of the bar) guy went to hang outside with other staff. A little late with my review but none the less this place is awesome. The ambiance is great and the bartender Matthew was amazing. Couple of my favorite drinks were the Devil's Mule, Espresso Self, Whiskey sour, and my new favorite the Gold Rush with a splash of ginger beer. We had a blast. 4/5 stars only because he didn't eat there. We came for the drinks two nights in a row and our final night we left with about $400 worth of Whiskey. If you decided to take any of the Devil's River home make sure you get there before 9pm. read more

This would be my second time coming fort anniversary trip. Wonderful staff and atmosphere. Their drinks are priced really well especially for whiskey. Good cocktails and a variety of spins and twists on the cocktails most people love. Also love music on certain days gives a real relaxing and fun feel to the atmosphere. Easily became on of my favorite whiskeys and stop whenever I'm in the neighborhood. Would recommend giving them a look if you are ever in the riverwalk/Alamo plaza area of San Antonio. read more
