Light dish. Tc double cheese burger: very strong flavors, somewhat sweet. Dense/heavy dish . Our waiter was quick and friendly. The restaurant lighting was dimmed and gave a more intimate /bar environment. I think the ac was broken here because it was very warm and they had fans going on around the room. I think this place would be good for someone who is prefers an American fusion cuisine that leans heavily on the western style dishes. The fusion elements were cute but I still left unsatisfied but still full. We did not park. We walked here right from the river walk. Enjoyed the flavor! The Happy Hour (M-F, 4-6PM) had good sized proportions at an excellent price. I tried the Karaage chicken ... crispy chicken thighs with a spicy, flavorful dipping sauce. The shredded vegetable salad was a solid mix of veggies, salt and sweet...huge plate as well. I also tried the pork dumplings .. fried. OMG I cannot say enough good things about this place! We were in San Antonio for a conference and wanted to get out of the hotel for a dinner. Firstly, we had trouble getting an uber at first and when I called the staff was very friendly and were able to hold the table a little longer which I appreciated. The menu is a mix of Asian Fusion small plates and I would have loved to have had more of a sampling of the menu but it wasn't that large of a party. The cocktails were not too sweet and perfectly balanced. The Fist of Fury was so refreshing and the Yuzu margarita was delightful! The plates come when they are ready and I have to say the food came really quick! All of it was fantastic! Surprisingly the shredded vegetable salad was amazing and one of my favorite dishes! The tamarind glaze on the Chicken Karaage was not overpowering and so tasty. The service was amazing and the vibes of the restaurant were a lot of fun. The bathrooms were down the stairs and there was a little bar off to the side. Would definitely go back! I couldn't stop talking about it the next day to anyone that would listen. read more

Cute place, though I didn't think the food was something I'd want to come back and have over and over again. Granted the pork belly was to go, but I didn't think there was anything that special. Service was sufficient; I sat at the bar so naturally the bartender was swamped but she was attentive enough. Drinks were yum and served in kitsch cup. Located right on the riverwalk it is a popular restaurant spot so make sure to get a reservation during peak times. It's a fusion of new American and Japanese. In reality it primarily American dishes with certain Asian sauces and spices. They have a pretty limited menu (see pics). I got their Short Rib Bao Buns and Furikake fries. Short Rib Bao Buns (which literally reads short rib bun buns) had jalapenos and pickled onions with the short rib inside an Asian bun. It tasted fine just don't expect any authentic asian flavors. The Furikake fries were good. I liked that they used thinner fries and were nice and crispy. Bonito lakes and Furikake were toppled on. It was rather dim inside if you like that kind of vibe. The server was pretty good though wish he came by more often to refill our drinks. For the price there are definitely better options, but if you are just looking for a decent restaurant on the Riverwalk, this one is alright. read more

Came here Thursday night with my family of 4 around 8:30pm we had no reservation but luckily they said a table just finished and they could seat us. The restaurant was loud and busy but it was still a beautiful setting. We ordered the July season offering: The crudo it was a little spicy but still good. The portion was a little small. We also got the salmon, pork belly, and the double cheeseburger with two sides of rice. The salmon had an amazing sauce with it that we all really enjoyed. The pork belly was really good. The cheeseburger was honestly really tasty and probably worth it the most. I'd say the portions are a little too small but the quality is really good. We didn't need the second bowl of rice but the salmon sauce was so good my brother ate the rice with just the sauce. Our waiter noticed that one of the food items came out a lot later and that he didn't get the as much opportunity to see to us however we didn't mind but he still went out of his way to offer us the yuzu tart which honestly was so refreshing in this humidity, and it got me to the perfect amount of fullness. And for that this place is 5 stars and would come again. Food was fantastic and service made sure we felt seen even when it was super busy. Not bad at all, but the shrimp could use some texture and the waffle was heavy. There are so many great options - might push the waffle to the back of the list if you have to choose between two options. Finished off with the daily tres leches - today was coconut flavored. So light and perfectly soaked...highly recommend! Service was on point; we never had to look for him or do without. The 1st round of drinks probably took 15min but got back to normal pretty quickly. Old Fashioned was $9.00, Karaage chicken & Soboro fries were very filling. It's a small place that gets busy so reservations are recommended, but we did a walk in and got a table with a time limit. What really made our visit special was our server, Galen. He listen, checked on us and treated us with a complimentary dessert to help us celebrate our anniversary!! We had a reservation for our anniversary and specifically requested a balcony seat. We arrived on time, and our balcony seat was not prepared. We had to wait an additional 15 minutes. The restaurant smelled fishy. Our server was very nice and our food came out one at a time. The short rib Bao bun was very dry. We asked for spicy Mayo, they said sure but never brought it. The NY strip steak was really good and comes medium rare. The sauce that comes with it is sweet and salty. The double cheeseburger was also really good, very greasy, very salty as well. Where do I even begin? The food, the service all of it was just amazing. The brisket egg rolls were absolutely to die for. I had the Nashville hot chicken and waffles, and that chicken... I wish I could replicate it at home. This place was a gem!! We were lucky to be able to find a reservation for our large group on our work trip to SA. Everything had so much flavor and really complimented each other. My favorites were the krab roll (that butter sauce!!) and the bao buns. The kimchi salad doesn't actually have kimchi chunks in it, but the sauce is very delicious. For entrees, we tried the dashi corn waffle, karaage, pork belly, and shrimp noodles. The karaage and shrimp noodles were definitely a hit. You absolutely need to get a plate of the pickles, they are very unique and pair nicely with the food. We also got the side of green beans, which was one of our favorite dishes of the night. Don't forget dessert - the tres leches was absolutely delicious and not too sweet (a great thing)! We came to this restaurant because they have such a great happy hour deal. It's also in such a great area of town right on the Riverwalk. I love sake and I saw they had a sake juice box. This was not the best sake I've ever had, but look how cute it was! The Toki highball was a classic and on special for happy hour, and it was light and refreshing, and it's exactly what I was looking for. I think every single person at the table got one. Man, I really wanted to give this place five stars. First of all, it is extremely conveniently located right off the Riverwalk. It is towards the end and not right in the middle of where all the busy tourist areas are, which I appreciated. I like the concept of this place. Kind of an Asian fusion restaurant. I came for lunch and it was quite busy, but luckily they had some tables available outside. I ordered the Asian inspired mac and cheese and the karage chopped salad. The mac and cheese base used rice cakes, which I thought was an interesting take. It was okay... I think I prefer regular macaroni instead, but I appreciate the creativity. For the karage chopped salad, the actual chicken itself was very crispy. Very good. Some of the best karage I've actually had ever, so props to them. Dressing on the salad was a little bit strong. I didn't mind it because I liked the flavor, but I could see how it would be too much for some. The only issue I had was service. I don't blame my server because I think she did her job very well but the kitchen was the issue. For whatever reason, quite a few people who had ordered after me got their food before I did. I actually waited around 50 minutes just to get my food. Some tables who came in behind me got their food and paid before I even got my main entree. I don't know what happened to the kitchen this time but I hope this was a one-off and not a normal day for them. read more

Went to Tokyo cowboy on a whim to celebrate my friends new job. And boy did it not disappoint. The menu seems interesting at first. Maybe even a little confusing, but I think it's all part of its charm. 100% take the recommendations from the server they know their way around that. My server saw how untouched my plate was and offered something else. I really didn't know what to order and left it up to them to decide for me. This is a very unusual fusion restaurant...Southern American and Japanese fusion! This I HAD to try. True to its concept, the restaurant had an unusual fusion decor...with its rustic American-style tables and chairs, yet with a very Japanese-style lamps-lanterns. It also had an unusual, long layout...one side for group and paired diners, and the other for single diners (or possibly groups as well)? Very much like the Japanese ramen joints. Honestly, I didn't find this ambiance too comfortable, but it was very different. The foods were incredibly different as well. We ordered several small plates to share: Short Rib Bao Buns, Crispy Karaage Chicken, Hot Chicken Chili Dumplings, Mac & Cheese...then one of their desserts, Yuzu-Meringue Pie. For drinks, my husband had Michelob Ultra, and I tried Cobra Kai. We both agreed that the Dumplings and the Karaage Chicken tasted the best. Everything else was at the very least very interesting! I actually loved the Bao Buns...though it was very unusual tasting, due to its extra-strong, extra-sweet radish. Surprisingly, the Mac & Cheese was THE most unusual...a somewhat melted form of Mac & Cheese with a generous topping of Kimchi. We weren't too sold on the taste, but we had to agree that it was very interesting. The dessert was good, but a bit thicker than I would have preferred. I think I actually loved the drink, Cobra Kai more than anything. Not only strong, it was absolutely DEE-Lish! It was this Japanese Whiskey, with an unusual mix of Ube flavor, with Pineapple and Coconut. SO good!! Overall, we were impressed with all that they had to offer.
