A really well-made drink! Thanks Yelp hive for the recommendation. Walking down the stairs you may find it dark, but still good ambiance. A lot of great artwork (in my opinion). I had the Mona Lisa. Loved the tortilla salt rim - it gave it a savory note that went well with the Mezcal and the spice, and as the ice cubes melted, I definitely got more spice. A winner in my book. read more

After dropping off my fiancé at The St. Anthony Hotel, I decided to explore a bit of San Antonio on foot. Just a block away, I stumbled upon a sign that read "The Bunker" with the magic words "Happy Hour." Intrigued, I followed the stairs down and found myself standing in front of an open safe--how could I not check this out? At 5 pm on a Friday, I walked into an empty bar, which was oddly peaceful. As I tried to figure out what to order, I missed my surroundings at first. But after my wine (which may have had a little too much "yesterday" in it), I looked around and noticed the walls were covered in art prints of some of my favorite artists--Klimt, Picasso, Da Vinci, Munch, Goya, and Pollock. Talk about a pleasant surprise! I was told the place transforms into a busy nightlife spot with a DJ, house music, and laser lights later in the evening, but for me, the calm vibe and artistic atmosphere were perfect. I quickly texted my fiancé in case the girls were looking for a spot to hang out later. While the wine wasn't exactly top-shelf, the ambiance made up for it, and I'll definitely be back to see The Bunker in full swing. Who knows, maybe next time I'll stick around and dance. read more

Wow, wow, wow! The Bunker Mixology is 100% the best new mixology bar in San Antonio. The Bunker Mixology is located in the heart of downtown right across from the Majestic Theatre. This space has been used for many different things throughout the years, but The Bunker Mixology has transformed it into a whole experience. The whole vibe of the place is very "The Da Vinci Code" type of vibe. It makes you feel like you are part of this little secret and don't know what else is around the corner. The space is surrounded by classic paintings which are also the names of their cocktails. The red light all around the place definitely gives it this unique and fun play to the experience. I am not one to go to clubs anymore, however I really enjoyed their live DJ which brings that club feeling but with a more refined feel. Every cocktail they prepare is truly a work of art. Please don't miss out on the experience of watching the mixologist make your cocktail because it will make you appreciate every sip even more. For the evening my mixologist was Yolanda, and she was not only super knowledgeable about the entire menu, she was also super nice to talk to. If you are looking for something off the menu, make sure to ask because they have full bars and are ready to prepare anything you'd like. This is the place for art and cocktail enthusiasts! If you can navigate your way to the art bunker you'll be treated to high class spirits and hidden art gems. The drinks are inspired by art and the vibe is both modern in the back NFT gallery bar, guarded by red entrapment style lights by the DJ booth, and luxurious in the front main bar. You'll be treated to great service and friendly bartenders who make a show out of creating the cocktails. They have the menu divided into two eras which show the art inspired cocktails and their ingredients. There is also a superb masterpiece list where you can find very high end spirits that can be enjoyed as if you were the first to open the bottle. The have a unique fridge for this behind the main bar which is incredible! The Jackson Pollock Number 5 was really great, had the candy placed as if it was the yellow color on the painting itself! The blackberry and everything about it was really nice. The Card Players is a unique one and they use the torch to light the cinnamon stick...I kid you not you can smoke the cinnamon stick! This is an awesome low key spot that I visited with my friend when our original plans fell through. This space sparked curiosity and excitement for us and their menu was super fun. The Bunker Mixology is a very cool and interesting spot downtown for cocktails. It's the perfect place to grab drinks before or after a show. They definitely have some unique cocktails. I tried three of them and they were all very good. The pictures of the cocktails I tried have the names of them. The Salvatori Mundi was my favorite of the three. It had a grape soda like flavor in a good way. The only negative thing about the place is the very small print on the menu. They need to make the font a lot bigger because it's very hard to read what is in the cocktails. The vibe of the place was great and very fun. The mixologists were talented and very friendly. The place was renovated since it was Jet Setter for the better. It's a more modern design and a lot more space inside. This place is going to be considered as one of the best places downtown to get cocktails when the word gets out. Make sure that you stop by The Bunker Mixologist the next time you're enjoying a good night downtown. read more

I really enjoy this space and have been here before it was called bunker. We loved the new Art twist and keeping the vintage photos in the restrooms. The restrooms have always been a little creepy as they are way back down a dark hall but adding the led strip lights helps make it less of a scary dark tunnel experience, unless you're into that sort of thing. The DJ made the mood fun and the bartender was friendly and great at crafting some very unique cocktails. We came in a date but are excited to return with some friends to all enjoy the good vibes. read more

This was a pretty cool place. We went on a Saturday evening after a show at the majestic and it was popping. People were dressed to impress! The drink menu was fun and unique with lots of fancy cocktails.There was a DJ, lots of flashing lights, and it was pretty loud in there. This bar discriminates against people based on an a dress code that they change for every person that walks in, based on whatever they feel like. We planned my friends 40th birthday for months, we showed up here in a large party bus. My friend that I was with that night was allowed in with a top almost exactly like mine,here was just smaller and with no straps. I was not able to attend my friends birthday at all. I had to sit outside downtown and wait for an Uber then I had to pay the Uber $55 to get home. I had a sweater on the bus that was fleece that they wanted me to put on. I refused based on the fact that it was over 100° that day. And the bus was extremely hot. I was already sweating. This is a 21 and up adult night club by the way! I looked at all the pictures from that night, and there were many women in similar tops. These door guys give the same vibes that crooked cops give when they pick on someone because their tiny bit of authority gets them off. Don't know how else to describe them sorry. I had high hopes for this place, it came highly recommended from a friend of mine and I thought it would be super cool to celebrate a milestone birthday here. Overall experience was decent, music was good/vibe we were looking for, bartenders were super friendly & accommodating, other miscellaneous staff so-called managers, not so much, I had called weeks prior to reserve an area just to hang around 7/8ish ( group of 20 or so) first they said it would be fine and we could hang out, they were so hell bent after 10pm they would have to ask us to remove ourselves from the "reserved area" due to bottle service at a minimum of $2,000 per area. First of all, is this a nightclub or a bar? Are we in Vegas? Like is there a headliner DJ I am unaware of? It's ridiculous and extremely overpriced, their dress code policy is utterly embarrassing & ridiculous, like no one was even at the door and I saw lots of men entering the establishment in not-so-appealing clothing but to each their own just don't say your "enforcing dress-code". Most embarrassing of all, they come up to my party to tell us " they need the tables at 10pm" and put a little "reserved" plaque on the table. Sad because did anyone come to fork over $2k & swoop up those little forbidden " VIP areas" ?!? Uh no. Mind you our tab from 7pm to 1am was over $600.00 but they wanted to feel as we were not worthy enough to sit in their little VIP areas...lol..ok...to make matters worse they unbeknownst to me added 20% gratuity, excuse me?!? You wouldn't "serve us" at the "VIP" area and that we needed to go to the bar to get drinks because we don't want to spend $2000 on some cheap tequila bottle but you want to charge 20% on our bill? Totally unprofessional and I don't think it's legal to be honest. Probably should contact TABC about this. In short, not worth my business. read more

Where do I begin. The atmosphere was great, the music was perfect for the environment BUT the bar service was lacking a little. The first bartender we encountered at the bar farthest from the door was very rude and seemed overwhelmed, never waited so long for a beer. The biggest issue was, the bar makes specialty drinks which takes time and backs everything up. We ended up moving and going to the bar at the front entrance and the young lady bartender was perfect, fast and very courteous. The Security at this establishment was rude and disrespectful. There's a vintage vehicle in lobby which I was looking at with a beer in my hand, mind you the car is completely roped off so you cant actually get close to it. I was admiring it while the ladies I was with went to the bathroom. The Security walks up to me and rudely says "get in there with your beer" which I responded "excuse me". He repeated what he said and in an extremely rude tone and then tells me "they don't want drinks by the car". I completely understood this but the manner in which he approached me was very disrespectful, especially for a higher end establishment. I'm 43 years old, I don't deserve to be talked to like a child, especially at an establishment that I spent a lot of money at.
