    Peanut butter dipped soft cone.
    Brooke N.

I've lived in the area for the past 2.5 years and never have stopped. Today I was craving soft ice cream so I decided to try it out. I got a small soft ice cream cone twist of chocolate and vanilla dipped in peanut butter. And to be honest I wasn't that impressed. The ice cream was okay but the peanut butter I was disappointed in. It was very bland and extremely thick. I will go back and try it out but something different.

The soft serve is a must! Perfect treat for a hot sunny day. The soft serve is thick and creamy, no icy thin soft serve here! The vanilla is perfection. Also tried the coffee chocolate twist soft serve which my other half enjoyed. The prices are competitive and the portions are a good size. Our cones were a tiny bit stale, but oh well. Lots of socially distanced tables and plenty of parking.

For us, well for me (my kids and wife like to get ice cream other places as well). This is the place for soft serve ice cream. Portions are great and the service is quick. Don't forget that they only take cash. Well worth it you won't be disappointed.

Right now they have blackberry cobbler hard ice cream and it will rotate out to a new flavor when it runs out.

I can't believe we have waited three years to come here. Although they only take cash, their ice cream is amazing!!! I got their flavor of the month- peach. The vanilla-peach swirl cone made this chocoholic question her tastebuds. And this picture features a medium cone- the sizes are definitely generous. My husband got a chocolate shake and wanted me to note that it was delicious; just the right consistency and not at all "plain" chocolate. High-praise from the shake-drinker. The staff are super nice and the benches outside are perfect on a beautiful day. We will definitely make this place our go-to for local ice cream.

The coffee-oreo-fudge ice cream may be the best ice cream I have ever had in my life. I think I can safely say that they are top notch for variety and flavor. So why a ranking of only two? One of my daughters who is allergic to nuts, ordered a "Chocolate Thunder" which is described as having "Chocolate based with cake crunchies, cookie fudge, and dark chocolate chunks." My kiddo (an adult really) begins to have a nut allergy reaction. They come on very slow for her, and thankfully, we have never needed to use the epi pen. She goes to the counter to ask them whether Chocolate Thunder has nuts and explains that she is having a reaction. She is told, "Well, there is always a chance of cross contamination." Incredibly, she has never been affected at places like Cold Stone or Stewarts which also serve ice cream with nuts. They rinse their scoopers. Here, there was a complete disregard - an indifference really for what was happening. If I were the manager, I would have offered her another ice cream and made sure that the ice cream scoop was rinsed. We did not want to make a scene. It was father's day and so many families were there enjoying the moment. So we promised that we would go to Stewarts thereafter so she could enjoy a scoop of something - which we did. AND THEN my younger daughter runs up to me to share that there was hair in her ice cream cup. I am sure that this does not happen all of the time. Hair happens, I suppose. The nut allergy response, was just bad. This is the reason for the rating of 2.

An earlier email reminder from the Mealeo CEO that I had over $3 in Mealeo credits reminded me that this would be a good opportunity to place my order at Country Drive-In through Mealeo to take advantage of my rewards. I was initially surprised that upon placing our order at 6:30 pm that it was not going to be ready until 7:15. But when I arrived at CD-I at 7:10 I could better understand. They were slammed with customers. I let the pickup window know that I was there for my order, and they said they would check on it. At exactly 7:15 they brought my order to the window. Ahh, reliable efficiency! My wife had decided to order a Tuna Melt ($8.39), I went traditional with the Sausage sandwich ($9.59), and a large order of Homemade Onion Rings ($7.19) for us to share. The Tuna Melt had little if any tuna flavor, very disappointing. The Sausage was one of the best I've had from them (there have been some off years recently). It was just greasy enough with the peppers and onions on top of the sausage patty that the fresh and soft brioche bun (not the hard roll indicated on the menu) prevented any loss of drippings for a flavorful bite each time. The onion rings were perfect this time also. Not overly greasy even as they cooled down. All of this is why we keep returning every season.

"Taco Tuesday" "prime Rib night" Cons: Menu said the entrees came with bread service, but no bread was received. I was looking forward to the bread, but felt uncomfortable outright asking because the server was being so kind and trying their best. Staffing: It was not too busy, as there were around 5 tables seated and 6 people at the bar. Service speed was slow, but there was good reason for this as they're down one staff member. It was unclear if the kitchen was cranking out room service orders for the Hilton as well since I went on the day of the Belmont. Ambiance: There is a lovely photo-op wall with a neon sign and disco like backdrop! Each table has flowers and a candle and the tables are sturdy. Taste: Enjoyed the food that I ordered and felt the portions were appropriate and well portioned for the pricing. My server, Bruno, he assisted me with a new menu item that they just placed on the menu, the Lemon Chicken. It was tart and the chicken skin was crisp. All in all, good experience - it took considerably longer than I had expected, but I noted regulars while I was there as well.

With so few of them left in the area, I figured this was a good time to go to one. If you have mobility issues, it may be tough getting inside. There's 4 handicap parking spots in the front of the restaurant, and when they are full (which they were when we arrived), it is a lot tougher for folks who need assistance to get in. The sloping part of the sidewalk is the part farthest away from the entrance. There's also not a lot of space inside near the hostess table to wait if it actually ever fills up here. Once we were seated, it was a lot better. Our waitress did a great time getting to all the tables on which she was waiting, without missing a beat. There was a second lady there as well, but I could not tell if she was a waitress, a hostess, or maybe the manager. She was definitely helping, but it didn't seem like she had any specific tables. I have no idea how many times their menu has changed in the many years since we've dined at a Friendly's. This menu was pretty streamlined, with many familiar entrees. But gone are the senior options and the free dessert ice cream options. Then, again, seeing that ice cream cones started at $4, maybe ice cream isn't something they're comfortable giving out at reduced prices any more. Our meals were actually quite good. Mom said she really enjoyed her bacon cheeseburger. My crispy chicken sandwich had a filet which was maybe a bit thinner than expected, but it was definitely crispy, accompanied by pickles, and fresh lettuce and tomato. We were able to substitute cole slaw for fries with no issues. Even though everything on the menu is designed to be prepared fairly quickly, it's definitely not someplace to come if you're in a rush.
