The food was excellent. We tried the happy hour and missed out on the weekly special as it was Saratoga restaurant week. Though it was the restaurant week we decided to go with the happy hour menu. With my wife and i being very lite eaters. The happy hour menu was sufficient. We tried the avocado taco, chicken salad slider and the crab cake with a draft beer. All three foods were well made and presented well for something that was on the happy hour menu. The crowd was just right and the seating area around the bar well designed. I would definitely go back for more.

This turned out to be quite a surprise. I didn't think much of anything that would be inside a Hilton/Holiday Inn or whatever. But this looked quite upscale and reflected in the food as well. The restaurant was quite packed a full house almost. We grabbed the last of the 2 tables left. We went there looking for happy-hour as it was advertised as taco Tuesday and we love a good taco, unfortunately it was restaurant week and they didn't have the regular happy-hour menu. We decided to sample the appetizer menu avocado taco (ofcourse I was going to get a taco), chicken salad slider and crab cake. Everything looked impeccable and delicious. And oh tasted sooooo gooood!! Can't wait to be back again to try more.

Bacon cheese burger with excellent sweet potato fries. Side of raspberry sauce for the fries!

Well it's not just Bentley's that does this... Rusty Nail does this wing-thing too (I had no idea). I was with a group of 8 (they don't take reservations and only seat you when your party is all there). Besides wings, there were orders of fish and chips, burgers, nachos, hummus, mozzarella sticks and Bavarian pretzels. Everything was served piping hot and we were happy to have items delivered as they emerged from the kitchen. I had a few of the wings and thought the bbq was the best flavor of the 3 I tasted. Buffalo wings were mild-a but too mild for me -but the mango habanero had an excellent spice level (I just didn't taste mango....it was more like sweet and sour with a solid heat). Our server was top notch and everyone really enjoyed their food. It gets a bit loud in there, but it was busy and bustling. Bonus-I ran into other friends there which was cool.

We had a small private room upstairs in this historic building with original wide wood floor boards and staircases. I ordered the Craic --grilled roast beef, sautéed onions, provolone cheese, horseradish mayonnaise on a baguette($18.00) which was served au jus. The beef was tender and the baguette was fresh. It was large so I ate have and took half home. Delicious! I also had the French Onion Soup (along with three others.) Sadly, it was spoiled for me by a completely soft/soggy bread slice (mush) below the cheese top. I quietly removed it from my bowl. However, the broth was flavorful. I remember it being excellent. Reason for 4 stars instead of five. My grandson enjoyed the Shepherd's Pie. Since he is a growing lad, he also had the well made fries. The three salads ordered were excellent. One salad had salmon, one had Buffalo Chicken, and one had beets and goat cheese. Generous amounts of protein were served. The children enjoyed the toasted cheese sandwich, Mac and cheese, and waffle fries. The Wings were good. The extensive menu is easy to read with a variety of exciting food choices available. Always something new to try!

Translucent fabric above the deck helps to diffuse the strong sunlight. While the draft beers available are not likely to attract those interested mostly in craft beers, the variety offered should be sufficient to accommodate those looking for a good brew to pair with the food they order. And we're talking about homemade pub food. While my companions chose sodas to go with their burgers, I decided on a Fiddlehead IPA ($5.50). My wife ordered the Cheddar & Bacon Burger (19 klams) and two of us ordered the Smokehouse Burger (19 klams). All burgers are half-pound, hand-crafted, freshly ground beef served with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a grilled brioche roll. They are also accompanied by fresh-cut fries and pineapple slaw. We all ordered our burgers medium-rare, and the kitchen complied. While the Cheddar & Bacon Burger is self-explanatory, the Smokehouse Burger includes a brown sugar BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon and a homemade onion ring. The bacon on all our burgers was thick, crispy, and very tasty. The side of pineapple slaw was fresh and flavorful, the fries were better than average, and the rolls were soft and tasty. There are a number of other items on their menu that look inviting. I unfortunately, only took a photo of one side of the menu, but that should be enough to make you want to check them out. They also offer specials each night. Did I mention the complimentary bowl of popcorn?

If you've never been here before, I highly recommend trying two items in particular: 1. Beer cheese dip 2. BBQ (Or any other) mac & cheese I should note that the BBQ mac & cheese (previously the Memphis BBQ Mac) recipe has changed over the years, so this review may not hold forever. That said, mac & cheese in general has been the most reliable item on the menu for me. I've tried plenty of other dishes here over time -- fish & chips, burgers, fish and chicken tacos, and nearly every mac & cheese variation -- but I'll stick to reviewing what we ordered on this visit. This time around, my wife ordered the fish and chips, and I ordered the BBQ mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was delicious, and the BBQ sauce added a nice sweetness that paired really well with the pulled pork. The fish and chips were also very good. The fries were a bit soggy, but since we ordered to-go and they had to survive the drive home, I won't knock them for that. Portion sizes here are fantastic and easily justify the price.
