This ice cream shop had the collect (no pun intended) there were so many to choose from! Staff was very nice and let me try several flavors. My favorite was the peanut butter. We ordered our ice cream in chocolate waffle bowls. 2 scoops is row large scoops! This place may seem a little pricey but you get hit moneys with with the size of the scoops! There are a few tables inside to sit and enjoy your ice cream. Great ice cream shop! read more

Yum! This ice cream is so good! I so appreciate the vegan options (I usually just get to watch my kids eat regular ice cream). The chocolate brownie vegan ice cream was rich and creamy, so decadent. Everyone else completely loved their scoops as well. Definitely will return. read more

Besides serving delicious ice cream Emack & Bolio's has a little bit of ice cream parlor feel, and a lot of charm. It's definitely a place to get together with friends. The flavors are fun, they're well made, and you can go a little crazy with those specialty cones. I really enjoyed the peach cobbler ice cream I got tonight. Parking can be a little challenging on a busy or hot evening, but I'm certainly willing to walk a little bit if I have to for a visit here. read more

Emack & Bolio's is a fun ice cream shop with a cute atmosphere. There's always a line that moves quick given their popularity and they have some cool flavors and fun waffle cones! Some of their flavors can be a little lack luster but overall I do enjoy their ice cream. It's a little bit pricer than some other ice cream places but they definitely make up for that in the experience and quality. There's ample indoor and outdoor seating and oftentimes have live music as well. There's other chocolates and fun merch that they also sell. Overall I'd recommend stopping in for a summer sweet treat. read more

Cone-gratulations on a job well scooped! I've always wanted to try this place and since my Dr appt is down the road, I figured, why not!?! I tried so many samples before I made one of the hardest decisions of my life, but the winner was banana fosters!! Topped with peanut butter, chocolate chips, whipped cream and of course, a cherry on top! Everything was beyond amazing and the girl working there, (if you read this thank you!) was beyond helpful, kind and sweet!! If you don't try this place, you must know, you're missing out on life!!! read more

Such a fun summer spot! Definitely on the busier and more expensive side for an ice cream. I do think what sets them apart is their flavors and the vibe of the establishment. The best ice cream around. Great outdoor area and great indoor area too. Their cakes are the best.

Emack & Bolio's was the last place in Albany that I visited, and I will say... their vegan ice cream was exceptionally good. I would have never known this was part of a chain unless I looked on their website and found multiple other locations (even outside the US!) I love that the place is fashioned into a kids' candy store - a place I wish I had in my own childhood. Staff are also very friendly and welcoming. Best part is: tons of free samples before you order! Emack and Bolio's did not have all the vegan flavors that were advertised on their website, but I did love the vegan coffee fudge that they had on their menu. A kid's scoop was the perfect size. In fact, the small scoop might have been a little too much. Unlike some vegan ice creams I've had (too icy, not creamy enough, overall bland), the vegan coffee fudge had a texture and flavor that tasted almost the same as a dairy base! If there's one place that will bring me back to Albany, it would be Emack & Bolio's. read more

Good mooring! Are you craving some delicious ice cream?! The perfect spot to satisfy the cravings is here. The parking is street parking, but I always find parking no matter when I go. When you first enter the store, it gives you a warm vibe, which is perfect for eating ice cream! I went when it was high noon. When I got to the counter, Sam greeted me right away, and she offered excellent suggestions. It took me a while to decide on what to get because the menu has unique names. Sam offered me samples, which helped me make my decision. She was very professional even though I was standing there for a while, trying to decide what to get with asking for multiple samples. In my personal experience, some people get impatient when you can't decide right away. You can't go wrong with any flavor! The ice cream was super tasty and amazing. The seating area is very cozy and organized. It feels like you got teleported to your living room. One thing that caught my eye was the chess board on the table. Make sure to clean up after yourself because we all know you don't leave garbage around in your living room. Overall, I have to say the experience was amazing because of Sam. Shout out to Sam! read more

I'm always looking for local ice cream shops which is how I stumbled upon this spot when visiting Albany. I tried Passion Fruit Sorbet and Bananas Foster Ice Cream in a Fruit Loops Cone. I'm a huge passion fruit fan, but I thought it wasn't a strong enough passion fruit flavor. I loved the bananas foster though. They have many different cone options which are fun. I loved the fruit loops cone! It was like a second dessert. read more

Covid update: plenty of outdoor seating! I no longer live in the neighborhood but this is a GEM. The ice cream is not too sweet and true to its flavor. None of that artificial flavoring business. I always end up getting the strawberry because it's just so good, with big chunks of strawberry. Grasshopper is good as well! The husband is a big fan of the vegan mango and coconut. The dipped cones are fun to try but they're HUGE. I've had the cocoa crisp, cinnamon crunch and chocolate+walnut combo. All are good but come hungry! Summer is ending soon and ice cream just taste better when its hot out! read more

Seems like I'm not the only 1 that thinks the associates cares more about socializing than getting the customer order. Was explaining to a friend last night how I ordered only 2 items the other night which were an ice cream and a smoothie . Which was atleast 20$ . And this girl literally was chit chatting and was taking a sweet time to making the smoothie . Meanwhile no communication happened amongst them . And another girl ended up making my icecream way too early . Finished half way still waiting for the smoothie , I look back up and this girl was still just getting the supplies for the smoothie . Which shocked me cause what was she doing the whole time before ???? . When she finallly handed me my smoothie , the smoothie was dripping from the sides and she didn't seem to care about the timing nor the fact the cup wasn't clean . O. M. G. I don't live in Albany, but I will move here for the ice cream. This place has the best ice cream I've ever had in my entire life. Granted, I only had one flavor ( toasted s'morée) but I'm going to assume that all the other flavors are just as good. The toasted s'morée was so fluffy and sweet and flavorful! The servers are super sweet. Seating is outside in their quaint little yard. Hope to visit this place again. read more

I wish I could convey the childish exhilaration I felt when I got my ice cream at Emack and Bolio's. I spent an excruciatingly long time deciding on a flavor, and ended up getting a mint chocolate chip scoop with a sprinkle waffle cone (all in a cup of course, because I am a guaranteed spiller). Keep in mind that the ice cream pictured here is a KIDS SCOOP, and it was large enough to act as my dinner. What really stood out to me was the satisfying snap as I bit into the chocolate-coated waffle cone; I would eat that on its own as a cookie alternative, it's that good! I think for the single scoop you can get two flavors for double the fun :DD Judging by how good my experience was, I know I have to go back and try all the other flavors! read more

Amazing vegan ice cream and a lovely outdoor area to enjoy the evening. I had a double scoop of vegan coconut and vegan chocolate pudding. Both were incredibly flavorful, and the coconut had big hunks of coconut, which added some additional 'interest' to the texture. Definitely some of the best vegan ice cream I've ever had. Highly recommend! read more

Please do yourself a favor and check out Emack and Bolio's. The ice cream is very, very delicious. My parents really liked the vanilla, but everyone we tasted was very delicious. Love their ginormous-sized cones! A bit too much (very sweet with all the marshmallow in order to bind the cereal/topping to the cone), but it certainly made for a fun treat-yoself treat and photo. My parents and I got a total of 5 scoops, 2 specialty cones and 1 waffle cone, and it came out to $21... so not inexpensive. Def worth it at least once though:) Really cute shop too! Yum! I don't know why I forgot Albany had an E&B's and kept hunting for a good ice cream place in the area. This is a chain with multiple locations including in NYC and Boston. The ice cream quality is top notch, I always go for the grasshopper pie and it never fails me. It's also super cute inside with toys, gifts, cakes, and chocolates. There is an area with seating inside and outdoor seating as well. They are taking precautions for COVID and it's a really cheerful place to go get your ice cream fix. Very friendly ambiance with lots of seating area outside and inside where they serve high quality deserts and ice creams. This place is known for their amazing ice cream. Price is very affordable considering how big a scoop of ice cream is. I lost count of how many flavors of ice cream they sell. It can come on either a cup or different type of cones. Cones include regular, chocolate, smores etc. They also have deserts including brownies, cookies, cake. There's also a chocolate section where you can buy assorted chocolates which is also pretty affordable. And I didn't forget to mention how they also have espresso, coffe, chai as well. The store is filled with things to buy or look at with decorations everywhere which makes the place very comforting and relaxing. I loved every second i spent here. There aren't many places where I have tasted thick and creamy ice creams and this place is one of those. There are other desserts too but the ice cream is top quality.
